Reliable . So far so good with this switch. I have always relied on Netgear for making solid products and I have not been let down yet. This switch was very easy to setup and get running. It's Gbit ports will come in handy when we upgrade our network in the future. This switch has all the features of much more expensive brands yet is simple enough even for novices. Try one, you will not regret it.

Works as expected . Really can't go wrong with Netgear with this type of equipment. Just plug and play
Cons Review
brokerowner . I bought this switch in November and it started to go out in February. Not a complete failure , just a partial failure that made it difficult to diagnose and wreaked havoc with my network. Netgear makes it almost impossible to return the product for a refund or a replacement. It was over 45 minutes, the connection was static filled at low volume,,and I was told to re-install the switch. Finally after speaking with 3 people ,the 3rd person approved the exchange and sent me back to the 1st person to handle the exchange. One hour total to complete.
Not For Large Business . We recently purchased one of these to replace an old 16 port dumb switch since we were running out of room. Moved all the connections down to this switch, turned it on and worked for 10 minutes, then no connectivity at all. We have about 2000 servers and over 20000 workstations with gigabytes being passed around like candy. Sad to say but this will not act like a dumb switch with the AutoLink whatever technology. Should be fantastic if it is the only switch on the network. To me, it seems to be a router since you can set the gateway in the settings and has QOS. Sending it back and getting a true dumb switch instead.
