HP Procurve 1810G-24 Switch
This review is from : HP Procurve 1810G-24 Switch
SOLID switch that's easy to use . This switch has a lot of powerful features that can come in handy. If you don't need any of them, just plug it in and it will work fine as well. If you need trunking, VLAN's and broadcast storm protection, this has it. The web management interface is easy to use and also has logging so you can troubleshoot your network.
My favorite feature of this switch is the lack of a fan and low power consumption. I use these in many homes, so silence is a requirement!

HP Procurve 1810G-24 Switch Reviews
Excellent Value Easy to Use . I have a long history of using HP switches at my employer, but this was my first for my home network. This model sure does give you be best bang for the buck. It has all the features that an IT administrator would look for (VLAN's, traffic shaping, port loop protection, etc) but with the simplicity of a web interface. The only thing I wish it had were port labels in the web interface to keep track of what is connected where.
HP has always been great on the warranty- how many other switch vendors offer a lifetime warranty?
One of the reasons I chose this model (besides the price) was the absence of a fan. Even though it is located in my basement, the fan noise of my previous switch was annoying. And, as a bonus, this model draws very little energy!
This is a great switch for a home that is networked, and for a small office. Highly recomended.

HP Procurve 1810G-24 Switch Opinions
Good entry-level enterprise product solid performance . Used this to replace a Procurve 2824 which was running without a hitch for over 5 years. Replaced with 1810G-24 because we are switching the network cabling to Cat6 and need Gigabit performance.
The Procurve pros:
- Lifetime replacement warranty (for original owner) which on 5 devices in the past years we only had to use once and it was honored
- Value for money
- Solid firmware
Cons with this model:
- Plastic chassis (they used to be full metal)
- Web management interface is cut down, you can't label ports and you can't see live status and throughput of individual ports in the web UI.'
Being an entry level product and considering the warranty you get with this and the price point I am a happy customer indeed :)

Fanless Gigabit 24 Port . This unit works just as well as my last 24 port gigabit switch, but it doesn't sound like a jet engine!
HP 1810G-24 fanless gigabit switch . I was looking for a 24-port gigabit switch to support an ethernet backbone in our whole-house remodel. As the cable modem, router/Wireless Access point, and switch would be in a centrally located guest bedroom closet, noise was a chief concern. I found positive recommendations about the HP 1810G-24 fan-less unit, and was attracted to its feature-set, e.g. low-power, the ability to access the unit remotely from another part of the house, and setup and use it in a simple mostly-default mode immediately for my home office use, and yet be able to explore more advanced features such as multiple vlans at a later date. The unit was easy to set up and has been working flawlessly. I found I appreciated the front-mounted RJ-45 jacks during initial installation & debug as I could quickly connect my laptop using a wired connection. I have been very satisfied with my HP 1810G-24.
Excellent Product . After reading what seemed like dozens upon dozens of positive reviews for this HP Switch, I ordered it and couldn't be happier. I wanted something that wouldn't break on me and the peace of mind of a lifetime warranty if it did. I'm using the switch to bring my home network up to speed and so far it's performing flawlessly.
