Easy setup . Bought to upgrade from the adsl modem provided by AT&T (Wisconsin). Setup is easy. Type 192.168.1.254 into your browser. Enter an admin password for the router. The software appears to be the same as the Netopia 3346 modem, their basic business class modem (not the 3346-ENT, which has programmable software).
I took this router to my workplace to replace our dead 3346. Navigated to the Advanced Setup section in my browser. Configured the port mapping (what they call "pinholes") and ip routing for our needs and was back up and running in 15 minutes. The difference between this modem and the 3346 appears to be that it comes in a plastic case instead of a metal case, and the brand name is "Motorola" instead of "Netopia."

Cheapest IGMP v3 Snooping Solution I could find... . If you're not too technically inclined, I'll say this much: I don't use this router as a router. For what I use it for, it works very well!

For the more technically inclined: this is the cheapest solution I could find that supports IGMP v3 snooping with fast leave. I need this to run my UVerse set top boxes off of one ethernet port which is wired to the RG. Using this I can plug in two STBs (that need multicast) and a SMB switch (which doesn't rely on a multicast 'stream') with ease and no port flooding.

Does what it should . Bought this so I wouldn't have to buy the one from AT&T for $100. It does what it's supposed to do. After 2 months I have started getting dropped a lot and have to reboot it regularly, but I can't say that's the gateway for sure as AT&T has a history of dropped connections in my area.... Just check your area for the right gateway....

My first review . I'm a long term Amazon purchaser, but this is my first review -I've wanted to give back to the community for a while now. I had to return this product and that's a rare thing for me.

I learned that for the same price you can get a modem that is much easier to set up and is half the size of this unit. I tried out my friends modem (an ActionTec from Bestbuy) and I was able to get faster speeds. I had recently cancelled AT&T and ordered DSL 2+ from Sonic because they were cheaper and supposedly much faster.

The next week the technician from Sonic sold me a ZXDSL 831. This unit was also not only much smaller and easier to set up but gave me much faster speeds then I got from the Netopia.

Blitzz card ok . Needing a quick fix to connect a laptop to a home network, I hustled down to the local Walmart to pick up a laptop wireless card. They had two choices, the Blitzz card and a Linksys card. Since the Blitzz was about 2/3 the price of the Linksys, if went for it.Setting up was a breeze, after installing the software, I placed the card in my laptop. It was instantly recognized. Then I was asked which network I wanted to join. Simple as that.I have only had the card for a day, so I cannot attest to the durability of the item. The reception is great. I have taken it about 100 feet away from the Microsoft B base that I purchased, with an excellent signal.

Good reception great flexibility. . We purchased the SS1022 USB Adapter for the PC in our guest bedroom after failing to get a Linksys internal wireless card that would keep a signal. Despite the computer being just 1 wall (and less than 15 feet) away from our network's Wireless Access Point (WAP), the internal wireless card failed to perform. We were attracted to the SS1022 adapter because it's external and could thus be repositioned easily for better reception, unlike the internal card's tiny external antenna extending from the CPU (on the floor, beneath a wood desk). Installation of the SS1022 went without problems, and we now have a fully Internet-ready guest room PC for visitors to check their email or play multiplayer games with us, all wirelessly!No more wires!

Siemens USB Wireless Adapter works well on 2 computers . I needed a wireless adapter for two different computers - one new XP laptop and one PII desktop on 98SE. I tried a NetGear MA101 and spent most of a day with two professionals trying to get it to work - no luck. Then I bought the Siemens SS1022 Wireless USB Adapter and had both computers online wirelessly in less than 40 minutes with 128 bit WEP enabled. The adapter is about 30 feet and two walls away from a NetGear MR814 Access Point. The adapter comes with a nice LAN utility which shows up as an icon in the system tray when the adapter is plugged in and disappears when you unplug it. Great item and easy to set up and monitor.

The best USB Wireless Adapter . I have used several different brand Adapters, this is the best one. It has much stronger signal than PCI Wireless adapter.

Worked like a charm even on older computers . I bought 2 of these, along with an SMC Barricade router/access point. I had no problem setting them up at all. I used one on a Windows 2000 laptop (an older one without network card), another on Windows XP Home. I recently moved the laptop one to an older P2 Windows 98 SE, and it recognized the network first time. The only issue I had was of my own making. I have both a home network and one using MS Groups. Still, once I figured out my problem, everything worked fine. The issue I had was strictly with directory sharing, nothing else. Highly recommend!

This is an outstanding wireless adapter . I have installed and used three of these adapters on 2 desktop machines and 1 laptop, running Win98, Win2000, and WinXP. The adapter is extremely easy to install, the wireless utility is very informative and intuitive, the adapter has good range and looks good. I recommend it very highly!

Try it and you'll like it . I bought my SpeedStream Wireless USB Adapter almost an year ago. I had issues about the reception, because I already tried the NETGEAR one. I had no reception with the Netgear products and when I plug the Siemens one, I was surprised. I got 60 to 66% signal against 0% by Netgear. Bottom line is that I advice you to choose this product if you want to be most satisfied from using your internet, or network at all!

Make sure you install the right driver . Make sure that you installed the right driver. updated driver is available on the website of the manufacture. On the other hand, Windows XP has a built-in software module to control wireless device. You can choose either of them, Windows built-in software or configuration Utility provided by manufacture, but make sure which one is actived. I just want to tell you that you don't need to feel frustrated if you can't set up your device. You may block the utility that you are trying to use. This is the most sensitive device comparing to other brands.

Cons Review

Never worked . I followed the instructions to ignore the warnings related to the uncertified driver on an Windows XP system and when I tried to set the wireless configuration through the WinXP Zero Configuration Utility, my brand new PC crashed with a memory dump. Repeated tries with different settings etc. gave the same result. Thanks to Amazon's liberal return policy, I returned it and ended up buying a Linksys USB adapter (WUSB11) which worked great out of the box.

Fails when other wireless adapter work. . This adapter worked Ok for me under Win98. PC running 98 would stay connected while two XP PC's (Home and Pro) would frequently drop connections with SS1022. Friends brought over an iMac with a Airporte wireless adapter - it never dropped. Toshiba and Dell laptops with integrated wireless never drop. Email to support@speedstream.com (listed in their documentation) bounces. I've purchased two 50ft patch cables until I evaluate a replacement router.

Works Pretty Good with occasional glitches. . I bought this to use with a Rogers Rocket stick and use it as an internet gateway for three computers and an iPod Touch. Works really well, with occasional connectivity drops that require a reset, maybe once a week. Not sure if it is better than the Rogers Wireless Hub and I shall probably give that a try once my contract expires with the Rocket Stick. I wish it had an extra USB hub to attach a hard drive.

MOFI 3500 3G Broadband Router - WiFi . I did a lot of research to find a wireless router that would work with the Virgin Mobile Novatel (Ovation) MC760, at the time this was the only one I could find that had positive reviews from other websites. Another review on here mentions that you sacrifice speed when you hook it up, let me explain that every wireless router that I have ever used will loose speed when you hook up multiple wireless devices to it and this is no exception. I went to the manufacture website and checked it out first and did download the newest update for it, it was very simple to install and hook up, should take about 10-15 minutes to get it up and running. I also like that it is compatible with my Nintendo Wii. I currently hook up about 3-4 devices at a time and it runs at the speed I EXPECT it would. As of now I am very pleased with this product and highly recommend it for the cost I paid (around $50).

MoFi disappoints . I recently purchased the MoFi3500 with the intention of connecting my 2 laptops, USB printer and Sprint USB EVDO modem to a wi-fi network. The MoFi only has 1 USB port. Their ads suggest a USB hub can be used to support multiple USB devices. With the hub plugged into the MOFI the Sprint USB modem and the printer were recognized, but neither would operate. After a call to MoFi support I was told MoFi doesn't recommend using a USB hub due to "power sharing" issues. I removed the hub and connected the Sprint USB modem directly to the MoFi. I was able to establish an internet connection without any problems, but my internet surfing seemed slow. I used Sprint's broadband speed test to measure download speeds. When I connected through the MoFi my download speeds were 1/3 to 1/2 the speeds with the Sprint modem directly connected to my computer. The MoFi works as a wi-fi hot spot, but at a cost in speed. The promised connectivity of multiple USB devices is just plain deceptive.

Snag-free setup . I put off installing this card for weeks after receiving it since I anticipated needing a large block of time for the usual troubleshooting to get it working. I was annoyed at myself for the delay after I had it up and running in ten minutes. Now I have an Internet-connected PC on the other side of my home from the cable modem/routers and the connection is automatic each time the PC is booted up. It has worked flawlessly so far - what a bargain!

Easy...and it works! . This was a very quick install that worked from the first minute it was completed. Whole effort less than 10 minutes.

Dosen't work in Linux. . I did some research before ordering this item. I found that this card has an Atheros chipset and works out of the box in Linux. This is the only reason I ordered this card as I already had a wireless-N card installed which would not work in Linux.

The card I received had a Realtek rtl8185 chipset and dosent work in Linux. I am returning the card and I will order a different one.

Great buy . It took me sometime to get it running, but in the end it connected me to the internet and that is what matters most. A great price and a great addition to my wireless network as well. My computer is atleast 10yrs. old and if it worked on mine than I'm sure that it will work on yours if you just follow the directions step-by-step.

Cons Review

It worked well for a while and then stopped working. . I bought this wireless card for the computer my boyfriend was building for me and it worked well for a bit, but then after a little over a year it started acting funny and then eventually just quit. The computer no longer finds wireless internet connections and I have to use a USB wireless card. I probably would not buy this again or recommend it.

Trash . I ordered this device after some research. The website says that they have added new drivers that are compatible with windows vista. However, after installing the windows vista based drivers and setting up the proper configurations for the router and network, it refused to connect to the network at all. Hours were spent double checking all devices and access connections, but it would not connect. I ended up taking it out and installing the device onto a windows xp based computer as well with the same results. I don't know if it was just a funky wireless card or if the cards in general are just this tedious to setup. I will not be purchasing any product made by these people again.

Don't fear opening your computer . This was installed in my Mac Pro and it worked immediately with no glitches whatever. Power down, unplug, open the side cover, and choose slot number 4 or 3. Remove the metal dust cover from the opening where your four USB ports will poke through the back panel. (This requires removing 2 screws). Gently slide the PCI express card into the expansion slot, making sure the metal tab slides into the same slot that held the metal dust cover you removed before. Reinstall the locking bar that has the 2 screws you undid before. Put the side cover back on and lock it. Plug in, power up, and you now have 4 more USB ports. There's no software to install, and if you're a Mac Pro user there should be no trouble at all.

You can never have to many USB ports . I installed this card in my Mac Pro. It was quite easy to do. A card is better than external ports (for some you even need separate power). Works fine. Price was okay (for a PCI Express).

Works perfectly with Mac Pro 1 1-- 2 x dual core 2.66 GHz . The card worked out of the box in my Mac Pro. The package includes clear instructions for installing in various model Macs with PCIx slots, including recommendations for which slots to use as well as instructions for using the Expansion Slot Utility.app to set the slot configuration if needed (/System/Library/CoreServices/). Of course, I can't say anything about reliability as I've only had it installed a few hours; I'll update this review after a few months of use. The whole process of installing took about 15 minutes. (NOTE: the 5th port is internal so it's not very useful.)

Works in 2008 Mac Pro . The card works with no problems in a 2008 Mac Pro. Just open the case, install the card, and boot your machine back up -- done. Since finding 3rd party hardware for the Mac can be such a pain, it was nice that this worked out of the box, just as advertised.

An easy way to add USB ports . At this moment there are a handful of manufacturers that make a USB2 expansion card that is PCI Express compatible. I have a Vista x64-bit Operating System and I periodically run into issues with compatibility, but this Sonnet USB expansion card was an easy install, and it worked flawlessly. No issues at all. It took longer to find a screwdriver to remove the PC cover than it did to do the install.

To minimize current running through the card, I connected my PC power supply to the optional power connector and currently run 4 items off of the rear USB ports. I've had this expansion card installed for about a month and everything still works great. I would highly recommend this card to anyone that wants to add additional USB 2.0 ports to their computer with a PCI express card.

Great product! . Great product. Worked perfectly in my Power Mac. No drivers to install and no fuss on the physical installation.

Each Card Adds 4 USB 2.0 Ports To the Computer . The name of the 5 Port USB 2.0 Pcix Card mac/win is misleading. There are not 5 ports to the outside of the computer, just 4. I knew this when I bought them, so I wasn't disappointed. I bought 2 of these cards so I wouldn't have so many cables connected to hubs all over the place. They are installed in PCIe slots 2 and 4 and work just fine. I now have these 8 USB 2.0 ports as well as the 3 that came on the back of my Mac Pro computer. There is a place to plug everything in without using the ones on the front of the computer as permanent ports. I even have some empty USB ports for future accessories. I am very happy with them.

Works perfectly . This card works flawlessly. No more USB under volt error messages or USB devices dropping out or loss of connection hiccups. Simple stated, this card works as described and I highly recommend it to anyone needing additional USB ports and has an open PCIe slot.

Easy installation flawless operation . Installed easily in a new Dell Inspiron 560. Integrated immediately with the operating system. The Inspiron came with only four USBs in the back and two in the front. For a desktop, that's not nearly enough. However, reviews for hub-type USBs indicated problems with that approach. I purposely looked for a five-star internal unit, and while this one was more expensive than some, the ease of installation and the obvious quality of the circuitry (no sloppy soldering here), made this product a real value. Just remember that you will need a computer that takes PCIe cards.

Cons Review

Does not wake after sleep in Mac OS X 10.6 and 10.7 . Card works fine until my Mac Pro 8-core goes to sleep. After that it seems impossible to restore USB connectivity. Sonnet claims the issue is that Apple broke/changed the USB driver since Mac OS X 10.6. Read their FAQ before purchasing!

I had used Valuepoint and nomadix before but this router has every thing that you need for your frenchise requierment and it is 80% cheaper than other router. also if you send e-mail to tech support they will answer same day very best tech service. i have 3 at my three hotel and i am replacing at my other family hotel
