BT450 Wireless Printer and PC Adapter

Price : Too low to display
BUY NOW

easy to use . just pluged in and in 2 minutes i was able to send pictures from my droid phone to my hp photosmart 8750. work great
Works like a charm - even from my Mac! . Works well - I have a Dell PC with an HP Photosmart printer. With this BT450 I am printing wirelessly from my new MacBook Pro.
This review is from : BT450 Wireless Printer and PC Adapter
Very good adapter only one small correctable problem. . This adapter is quite a nice one. it turnes out that you can connect a wiimote to your PC through tis adapter, if your PC meets certain requirements. If you are wondering what this minor problem is, the connection light contentiously flashes no matter what, which can be fixed by putting something over it of course. Overall, best adapter i have come across (i have used a few, this one wins).

Cons Review
HP refused to support BT450 . The printer and adapter settings to make the device work are complex and HP refused to support software installation and device settings for their product. I would recommend a different brand.

D-Link 2-Bay Network Video Recorder Pro Edition, Two 3.5-Inch HDD Bays, SATA, RAID 0/1, Gigabit Ethernet Port, USB Print Server (Green)

Price : Too low to display
BUY NOW
The answer to expensive, outdated, analog CCTV surveillance systems has arrived. When coupled with D-Link or other compatible network cameras, the DNS-726-4 Network Video Recorder (NVR) offers a comprehensive video display, storage, and management solution. The DNS-726-4 provides reliable high-quality remote monitoring functionality at a fraction of the cost of conventional surveillance systems.

This review is from : D-Link 2-Bay Network Video Recorder Pro Edition, Two 3.5-Inch HDD Bays, SATA, RAID 0/1, Gigabit Ethernet Port, USB Print Server (Green)
Good but lacking for the Price . The D-Link DNS-726-4 is a Network Video Recorder for Security systems. This NVR is suitable for small business and home security needs and has some good features. In fact it meets all of the needs of most users but falls short in several areas. With a top storage capacity of only 3 TB and 4CH of video you run out of storage space after 7 days, this might be OK for a small business that is open 5 days a week but not for a home system that might need to continue surveillance for a 2 week vacation. This unit needs 4 bays with a 2TB each capacity. Then there is the D1 video limitation, with megapixel IP cameras becoming available on the market I would have thought D-Link would have gone with a higher resolution. D1 is 720X480 (480i), while this is OK for general surveillance, facial recognition and/or License plate capture requires at least 1 megapixel, which is 1280X720 (720P) resolution. There are many 8ch 1 megapixel NVR's hitting the market for this price point, and 1.3 megapixel IP cameras can be had for less than $200. I see no point in restricting myself to a 4ch D1 NVR when for the same price I can get a 720P HD 8ch one with much better video clarity.

Feature D-Link 2-Bay Network Video Recorder Pro Edition, Two 3.5-Inch HDD Bays, SATA, RAID 0/1, Gigabit Ethernet Port, USB Print Server (Green)

  • The intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) simplifies viewing live and recorded video from the NVR.
  • A clear single-page interface assists with configuration including compression, resolution and frame rate for all connected cameras.
  • The DNS-726-4 centrally controls the digital output, e-mail notifications and recording for all connected cameras.
  • Searching through recorded data can be tedious and frustrating.
  • Multi-NVR Viewer supports simultaneous display of up to 16 channels

This review is from : StarTech.com 1 Port 10/100 Mbps Parallel Network Print Server (PM1115P)
Worked right out of the box! . This Print server was used to setup an older printer [with a parallel port connection] to work as a network printer. The instructions were clear and concise and easy to follow.
StarTech.com 1 Port 10/100 Mbps Parallel Network Print Server (PM1115P) Reviews
Does the Job. . Nothing fancy about this device. There are simpler items to install. More compact than a print server. Very handy if you only want to share one printer. At the end of the day it does the job.
StarTech.com 1 Port 10/100 Mbps Parallel Network Print Server (PM1115P) Opinions
Inexpensive alternative for parallel printers to be attached to a LAN . This device is easy to install and works well. I have a HP Laserjet 1200 that I did not want to get rid of - it is a workhorse!! The device works well in a combined LAN hardwire/WIFI combination router. I can access the printer via the WIFI connected computers with no problems.
You must know some networking lingo (ip address, MAC address) and have access to the router admin apps to hard set the router ip address in the network. Also, if you need to modify ips since the device comes with a preset ip address from manufacturer. Otherwise, works like a champ!!
Works fine but needs better documentation . This print server is working fine, but it took me 4 hours to get it installed property. I found the documentation to be a bit deficient. Fortunately, their tech support is pretty good and after two calls I determined that I needed to change the IP address of the device. Once I did that I was able to ping it and then soon got it working.
As promised and as expected . I've always had good experiences with StarTech these items were no exceptions. They work as advertised and are easy to set up.
Works Great . Simple product that does what it's supposed to. Easy to use web GUI. Perfect for older printers/plotters with no available ethernet ports.

Great print server . I use these at work for dozens of LJ printers and label printers. Never had one die on me. Would reccommend.
This review is from : Jetdirect 175X 1USB 10/100BT Rohs Compliant
Print Server Supports More Than HP Claims . I purchased this HP JetDirect J6035G used. Hooked it up to my Home Network and connected my HP DeskJet 825C to it. This is a PPA printer that HP claims is not supported, however I was easily able to create a new IP port for the printer in WIN XP to use it. It was simple also to use with my wife's Macbook. I would highly recommend this Print Server for its ease of setup. The only minor aspect I would change is to have all connections and status lights on the same end. However this all depends on your office or network's physical layout I guess.
Jetdirect 175X 1USB 10/100BT Rohs Compliant Reviews
Works exactly as advertised . Plugged in the USB printer and the ethernet cable and the printer server showed up on the network immediately. It prints great from all computers (Macintosh) environment and works great. We have attached a Costar LabelWriter (Dymo), but I feel confident any USB printer should work the same. Truely plug-and-play!
Jetdirect 175X 1USB 10/100BT Rohs Compliant Opinions
Hooked up to a DesignJet 110+ work well but never push the test page! . I figured that a HP print server (that states that the printer it supported (DesignJet 110+)) would work perfectly. Well, it does. But, never ever touch the "test print" button. It cause the printer to throw an error stating that the black printer head is defective. This was driving me crazy. A hard reset (pulling the plug for 15 second), fixed the problem. I tryed it again and the same problem occurred. This time I gave up on the test page button and simply tried to print some autocad files. It has worked since with no problems.
The web setup is easy, and the Windows software works well.

Airlink101 AMPS230 Multi-Functional Print Server

This review is from : Airlink101 AMPS230 Multi-Functional Print Server
Excellent Cheap easy print server . It took less than 15 minutes to get it up and running. Very easy set-up. I have Brother MFC 7340 printer (which was not in the compatibility list!!) and its scanning and printing nice and fast. Two PCs (a desktop and a laptop) are connected wirelessly to the router, and the print server is wired to the router. Everything is working fine. Both PCs are running windows vista.

I had to install the printer software to each pc separately. Then I installed the print server and things were good to go!!!

Highly recommended!!! Cheap!!! easy to install!!!
Airlink101 AMPS230 Multi-Functional Print Server Reviews
Quirky Set-up but Running Just Perfectly. . In a home with MACs and PC's I turned to this to share the multifunction printer. It took a bit of patience and tweaking to get all the units to work, but since then, printing/scanning life is a breeze.
Airlink101 AMPS230 Multi-Functional Print Server Opinions

Cons Review
Can't maintain a connection . UPDATE:

I initially wrote a glowing review of this print server and gave it five stars, but now, I took everything back and rate it one star. The thing simply could not maintain a connection. There are six computers on our network sharing a printer through this print server. All of them run Windows 7, and all of them have the same problem. The printer would frequently go "off-line", or into some other disconnected status and became unaccessible. Sometimes running the PS-Link program to make a manual connection would solve the problem, and sometimes the only solution is to unplug the power and restart the print server.

Actually, I did notice the unreliability in the beginning when I used dynamic IP address for this print server, but I thought the problem was fixed by switching to manual IP address. It was not. It was just better, but still extremely unreliable.

No, you can't live with something like this. It would be insane.

I subsequently bought a TRENDnet TE100-P21. So far, it is maintaining a connection with every computer on the network. I shall observe it longer and see what happens. The setup was even simpler. Besides, the TRENDnet has two USB ports plus a parallel port, in contrast to a single USB port of the Airlink.

Anyway, the following is the original review I wrote. Everything I wrote is still true (because I wasn't aware of any unreliability at the time), and may still be useful information for someone who is interested in investing. I was glad to get rid of it.

THE ORIGINAL REVIEW:

BACKGROUND:

I hesitated to buy it due to lack of user reviews. But glad I bought it. This thing is so much better than my 5 years old D-Link printer server which was four times as expensive. The D-Link had terrible design, requiring extremely confusing user setup. I'm highly experienced in networking, but it took me many hours to figure out the D-Link Print Server. I later wrote an review to detail the procedure of setting up the D-Link Print Server, and guess what, every time when I needed to set up the print server again, I had to consult to my own writing because the thing was so complicated and illogical that there is no way that you can remember how to do it.

PROS:

With that background, you can imagine how delighted I was to set up this tiny Airlink101. It took less than 10 min. altogether. And I did not even read the instructions. All you need to do is The following steps:

(1) hook up the print server with your router (or access point or switch depending on where you at the network) and with a computer on the network;
(2) install the programs that come with the print server; And
(3) start PS Link (one of the two installed programs)and click the link button shown in the window, and you're done.

There is no confusing port setup, no confusing distinction between local printer and network printer, and even more confusing distinction between printer IP address and the printer name, all the terrible junk thrown at you by the D-Link. Compared to this little print server, the D-Link was outright incompetent engineering.

On my computers running Windows 7, it didn't even require me to go to the Windows control panel to add a printer. After I did the above 3 steps, I felt good and said to myself, now, all you need to do is go to the control panel to add a printer. I was a bit anxious of the distinction between adding a local printer and network printer (which was such a headache with the D-Link). But when I got to the control panel, I noticed that the printer was already there. And I tested it and it worked. This may be because the printer driver was already installed on my computer.

If you are installing a new printer, you might need to run PS Wizard (the other one of the two programs installed with the CD came with the print server). That is where you install the printer driver.

You may want to log onto the configuration to set up a few things such as password. But for just printing, if you do the above three simple steps, you are done.

CONS:

The only complaint I have about it is that it can network only one printer. I'm planning to buy another one because I have two printers that need to be networked.

TIPS:

(1) Based on my experience, I concluded that for this print server to work reliably, you must set it on manual IP and also manually preserve a static IP for it on your router. I used DHCP first. It connects easily, but it could not stay connected. It required frequent "re-linking" of the printer. Once I switch to static IP, everything seem to work well.

(2) If you are installing a new printer, you might need to run PS Wizard That comes with it.

(3) Remember, you need to install the print server software on every computer on the network that you want to use the network printer. The installation takes just a few minutes. Couldn't be simpler.

(4) Note also that they make a wireless version of this print server too. But I bought the non-wireless one because I connect the print server through the ethernet port of a bridge which has a wireless connection to the router.
Do not buy -- will not maintain connection hangs up while printing . We have to constantly turn things off and on, re-"link", even reinstall the software, in an effort to make it print. When it does print, it's extremely slow, and occasionally "hangs up" in the middle of a printout.

I'm on the phone right now waiting to talk to their support (10 minutes in the queue so far) but they say on their website it is a discontinued model and not supported. We'll see what they say. There is no updated software on their website.
It didn't work. . I tried to install the software on three different computers (Windows7, Vista, and a Mac) and the software acted differently on all three. And it didn't work on any of them. This product is pretty rough around the edges. I returned it.

This review is from : 15U 4 Post Open Frame Steel Rack R4-15U
Solid rack but too small for a standard 2 post server . I purchased this for a mac server with two very heavy 4u raid disks and a dell server. Both of these require front and back rail mounts for the sliding rails that come with the servers so I thought since this was adjustable and the package size was so large that it would be a good solid rack for my equipment.

When I received it I got quite excited. The rack is heavy duty and beautiful and comes with heavy duty casters and feet. You can only use one or the other, not both at the same time. I assembled it and then discovered that the maximum adjustable depth was not enough for my servers. Also the way the posts are configured I wouldn't be able to mount the sliding rail kits even if I could have spread them the 30 inches apart needed. I will sadly be repackaging this and returning it for a rack that suits my needs.

This would be good for recording equipment which tends to be much less deep than industrial servers. The maximum length between the front and rear posts is 21 inches and it will not work with standard server rails.

1PORT USB PRINT SERVER

This review is from : Zonet 1 PORT USB Print Server ZPS1002
Quick/Easy install no compatibility issues reliable . This product turned out to be exactly as advertised: very simple installation that involved a single step, compatibility with every printer we've thrown at it, and dependable long-term operation. By designing their product to adhere to standard protocols rather than trying to get fancy, they have made a trouble-free user experience that is unparalleled in any of their competitors' similar offerings.

The only issue I had was that the application to set the device IP did not install on a 64-bit system (Windows 7), so I had to find a 32-bit machine to get it going.
Zonet 1 PORT USB Print Server ZPS1002 Reviews
Good Product . The product works great if you ignore the instructions for auto installation on the client computers (the software included on the CD does not seem to work). Instead setup the printer as a local printer on a TCP/IP port.
Zonet 1 PORT USB Print Server ZPS1002 Opinions
Excellent Print Server . Excellent print server. I am now running two print servers the Netgear PS121 and the Zonet. Zonet wins hands down in terms of reliability and ease of set up. In fact I initally bought another PS121 and just couldn't get it to work reliably.

Use the included software to assign an IP address to the print server or let the device query for an address automatically using DHCP. Then simply create a TCP/IP port by right clicking on your existing printer entry in the printer folder in the control panel. Assign the IP address on the port configuration dialog and you are done.

The Zonet represent great value for the money in my view.
Great little print server. . I bought this unit to use in my office. After setting up the print server manually (the included directions and setup wizard did not work properly), it has worked flawlessly. Nice unit, nice price, a little learning curve for non-techies, but I recommend it.

*UPDATE* Unit has worked flawlessly for almost 2 years now - highly recommended
Won't work with Lexmark X8830 support nonexistant probably a decent product . The compatiblity list doesn't list the X8830 as either works or known not to work.

It doesn't work.

Called support 2X and left a message, no response. Left a message online, no response.

Documentation is mediocre.

That said, I had the thing up and running and on a different subnet, web browseable, without reading anything, in about 5 minutes and without using the CD. Had to use the CD to install a driver for XP. Their software isn't really a help. You can browse to its IP address and change IP address, and make other changes, as well as see print queues and attached printers.

If you have an inkjet or laser printer that's not an all-in-one, and you're familiar with some networking stuff, it's a pretty cheap way of networking a printer.
Works as advertised . Product is excellent, sturdy & stable. However there is absolutely no support from the Mfg & no proper manual or guidance is given to install this PC. It took me over 6 months (I am average comp user) to figure it how to make this work for the printer to be accessed by all the wireless network PC's. For those who do not know: First install the printer via USB connection (not this one yet) on the wired computer-restart PC.Now run the CD that came with this product & as you follow further select the printer (that you just installed via USB) from the list & go further on attaching this printer. Now remove the USB cable & attach your printer with/thro this product. Now you have installed this on your wired PC.
On wireless PC's install the printer software CD (not the physicall printer-just the software) & install the printer software as if you wre really installing the printer. Restart PC. Now run the CD that came with this product & as you forward select the printer (The one you installed the software for) from the list & connect. Restart. Now it should print whether the main (wired PC ) is on or it. However due to circumstances beyond my control if it doesn't print, then go to this printer server page ( like 192. 168 .2...) and assign or choose manual IP (Not automatic IP).
Sanjay H Patel, CANADA
Works Great ... But Prep for the Install! . Once I completed a CORRECT install, the ZPS1002 worked perfectly. I now have a desktop & two laptops accessing the printer.

Just a few tips:
1. Before you purchase: checkout the compatibility list on the Zonet website. The printers are listed by manufacturer & model ... plus, the list is extensive. This will prevent one reason for a return.

2. Before you install:

a. Read the very brief installation instructions once. You'll then know the order of connection & power-up for each component beforehand & not wind up with a failed install. They show pics.

b. Learn and write down the IP Address & Subnet Mask of your router (more comments to follow).

3. During the install:

a. Follow the software's wizard & when you get to "Change Settings", be sure to check "yes". The Print Server's default IP Address will probably NOT fall within the subnet range of your router/network adapter. So you should plan to change it. Also just leave the password blank in the same step.

b. Select & use a Static IP Address for the Print Server. I let the router assign it the first time. It worked for a few hours & then quit. When I reinstalled using the static IP address, it worked continously. As I mentioned above, you'll need to know your router IP Address (eg, 192.168.1.1) & Subnet Mask (eg, 255.255.255.0) beforehand. You also need to be sure that the IP Address you choose for the Print Server is not already assigned to another component of your system.

c. If you don't know any of the addresses & you're not MSDOS smart, just download & use "Belarc Advisor" (free). It analyzes your system & in one section shows all the IP Addresses of all your components (Best before you install).

d. DON'T print any test pages until AFTER the install is done, then try it.

Even with the need to reinstall, the process only took about about 10 minutes each time. This is a good product for what it does & worth recommending to other buyers.
It works but beware! . This print server works with my Windows XP and Windows 7 machines. But, I own a Canon MP530 multi-function printer, and the Canon print utility cannot see the printer. It just says "not responding" even though the print is coming out. Plus, the "Canon Toolbox" software cannot see the "scanner" function on the printer at all. I had to direct connect to the computer to be able to access the scan function. But, for the other computers upstairs, I don't need that function, so just being able to print is a blessing. Other than that one caveat, it works as advertised. Also, make sure you change from the default IP address or it will not work.

Cons Review
Check the Compatibility List FIRST!!!!! . I was looking forward to using this product in my home network, but after 3 hours of trying to get it to work with my network and printer, I went looking for FAQ information. I have to admit the manufacturer's site and information was easy to navigate. But I was unfortunate to discover that buried in the unit's support page was a list of compatible printers, to which mine was not listed. I am trying to contact the seller for a full refund (less shipping), and hope they will come through.
I really feel that the compatibility list should have been included with the product. That would have saved me all those hours.

It may be a decent product, but check the printer compatibility chart first at the manufacturer's site to be sure the unit can address your printer. It will save you a lot of frustration, and save the vendor the hassle of a return.
Didnt work . Ordered this after checked website and it was compatible with printer. In a nutshell

1. Spent 4 hours and 5 downloads for different drivers to get this to work. Needless to say, it didn't work
2. Requested a return RA #...didn't hear back for 48 hours and they asked what invoice order #. So I replied and heard back 26 hours later. Then they asked WHY I was returning it. So I replied back because it didn't work. So I recieved an RA # 48 hours later which is only good for 5 days. I Went to seller Site and they state there is a 15% restocking fee on ANY returns. So I spend 8$ to ship it back -15% off the price < $7.20> So I get back 33$ on a 48$ item. I didn't bother returning it.

very good for home use. . Easy to set up print server. It worked great within 15 minute had it up and running on my small home network. I got it so that I did not have to keep a PC on all the time for printing duties. It also has wireless option (the card is free when you send in rebate). It is not wireless out of the box.
NETGEAR PS111W - Print server - parallel - Ethernet, Fast Ethernet - 10Base-T, 100Base-TX Reviews
Wired and Wireless Print Server . I bought this print server knowing that it was wireless ready, but you would have to send in a coupon to receive the free wireless pc card. I didn't immediately need the wireless capability, though, because I already have a Linksys BEFW11S4 Wireless 4-Port Cable/DSL Router, and I could use the 100 MByte Ethernet connection--but it would be nice to have the wireless option.Installation was very easy--just plug it into the router, power it up, and pop the CD in my computer. It immediately recognized my HP Laserjet 6L printer, and worked great the first time. Now I don't need to start up my desktop computer to print wirelessly from my notebook computer. This is a great product, and you can't beat the price or the Netgear name.
NETGEAR PS111W - Print server - parallel - Ethernet, Fast Ethernet - 10Base-T, 100Base-TX Opinions
easy setup great value . We use this unit at work and it was a breeze to setup. After a great experience with it, we've picked up 4 more of these units for all the printers. Everytime, the unit was very easy to setup and everything was up and working in no time. For Windows XP machines, we didn't even need the setup CD; XP has the Netgear print server drivers support built in. Even Win2K could support the basic functions without installing the setup CD. For the cost of this unit, it is a great value. I did know that I had to send in for the wireless card, so that was no surprise.
Does the job... maybe not for Macs . I use this print server on a home network. My primary machines are a Mac laptop and desktop, which posed a significant problem as initial configuration of this print server must be done from a Windows-based PC because of the proprietary software that Netgear uses. Virtual PC was my solution. Others may have to borrow a friend's PC laptop for an hour.Once you have supplied an IP address to the print server, it may then be configured from a web browser on any computer.Users of Mac OS X will find the free GIMP Print and GhostScript packages essential to use this device with anything other than a postscript printer. As others have mentioned, this print server is slow, but it does its job well and the test-page function has been useful for diagnostics. My main motivation for buying this box was that it was on sale dirt cheap and the free wireless card would cost as much as the print server did alone. It has performed very well since I installed it, with the caveat that the wireless 802.11b card has yet to arrive 2 months after I sent for it.
It is cheap but don't expect much . It works well as a basic print server. The ease of configuration may have been satisfactory a few years ago, but other companies have made the typical router configuration so easy that makes configuring this print server seem almost too technical. But once you get it going (it took 20 minutes for me), it works well. I bought it under the condition that there is a rebate to get a free wireless card for this box, but it has been 3 month, and nothing from Netgear. I am having second thoughts about Netgear's integrity.
15 minute Setup . I purchased this print server after returning the Linksys version out of frustration at the inability to get it to work (and the clueless customer service). Some folks here have complained about the Netgear manual and customer service - well I can't attest to the quality of the manual or CS because I have never needed to use them. I currently have a Netgear wireless access point/router, and am running two notebooks (wireless) and a desktop wired, and now the print server. With a gun held to my head, I could not explain the most basic TCP/IP, DCHP, or any of this terminology that goes with networking. I buy this stuff, install the software, plug it in and it works. Maybe I am lucky, but for me, Netgear is the way to go. As others have mentioned, the print process seems somewhat slower then with a direct connection, however, the ability to print from the notebook anywhere in my house is well worth the reduction in speed.
Beware the words "Wireless Ready" . OK, I didn't read the specs carefully enough to realize this unit wouldn't work as a wireless print server out of the box. Rather than return the unit, I sent the rebate forms, barcodes, and receipts in for a "free" wireless card. Given this unit is only about $10 more than the card, it's a reasonable bargain.Installation and configuration was quite easy, as with all Netgear products I have purchased. It performs as advertised. (I'm just grumbling it didn't work out of the box.)
PS111WNA Works Great If You Install it Right . As long as you install it right it works great. One thing they don't tell you is that you have to turn off your firewalls to install it.With a firewall in your Router you don't need one on in your PC anyway. After I did this the software installed it in about 5 minutes I have three PC's on a wireless network and they all use the same printer with this Printserver. It works GREAT!!!!!!!

Cons Review
Awful customer support... product never worked . I was persuaded to try this product after reading a couple of reviews here at Amazon from people who were using it with a Linksys BEFW11S4 DSL router. However, it just didn't work for me at all. Everything was connected properly, the print server's LAN light was on solid green (meaning that it could talk to router) and it could print its "test page" with all its configuration details (meaning that it could talk to the printer). However, no matter what I tried, I could never get the computer (running WinXP) to recognize that the print server even existed. I called Netgear support and after a very long wait I spent approximately an hour on the phone...until we were both equally clueless about what was wrong....Well, it's been 10 hours and I'm still waiting. I tried calling back to see if I could get more help, but their expected wait time was almost 30 minutes. Also, Netgear's online customer support and documentation is atrocious. I tried to download this server's documentation from the website before ordering the product, just to make sure that it could do all I wanted. Well, the materials were just awful. In fact, the document was really a draft, which even included "comments" from one Netgear employee to the others. Even the "cleaned up" version of these documents that came with the installation CD was so "terse" that it wasn't much help at all. Nothing like the screen-by-screen shots that I'm used to getting from Linksys.I've already repackaged this product and printed the UPS label off this site. It's going back to Amazon tomorrow.
Catch 22!!!!! . purchased this for the rebate of the wireless PC card and still haven't been able to use it since the free card has not been sent yet. It's been 3 months!!! Netgear is totally un responsive. Can't return the item because I had to cut out and send in the UPS from this package to get the free card. Catch 22!!!! Stear clear of Netgear!!!!

TRENDnet TE100 Multi-Function Print Server TE100-MP1UN Print Servers - Wired

This review is from : TRENDnet 1-Port Multi-Function Print Server TE100-MP1UN (White)
Not compatible with Windows 7 or Vista SP 1 . I can't knock this too much because the install was pretty easy and it did recognize my Canon Pixma 780. However, Windows 7 and Windows Vista Service Pack 1 require driver signing to ensure driver compatibility and the Print Server Utility that comes with the print server has not been updated since 2008. So even though the utility installed, I received several warnings during installation from Windows that the drivers were not signed. Then afterwards, I tried to connect to the printer using the utility and could not. I contacted Trendnet support and was told "Windows 7 is not currently supported. TRENDnet is currently verifying operating system compatibility for this product.". If you are running vista and use Windows Update you are most likely running SP 1 and you will not be able to use this either. If you want to check to see if Trendnet has updated anything since, you should check the downloads link for the product page on the Trendnet site.
TRENDnet 1-Port Multi-Function Print Server TE100-MP1UN (White) Reviews
Great Device For Windows XP (SP3) and Windows Vista (SP2) . This device is compatible with Windows XP and Windows Vista (32 bit). I installed it on my older HP computer running Windows XP (SP3) as well as my Toshiba Laptop running Windows Vista (SP2). I used the device for wireless printing to an HP Photosmart C4480 All In One (Printer, Scanner, Copier) and all functions work properly for both computers.

As to the date of this review, the device is not compatible with Windows 7. Customer Service notified me via email informing me that they are working on an updated driver for this device. My inquiry was answered quickly and respectfully. TRENDnet Customer Service is great (5 stars deserved if this category was available).

The device was easy to install and functions as expected for the supported operating systems noted in the specifications on their website, "Supported OS Windows 2000/XP/2003 Server/Vista (32-Bit)." It also has a 3 year warranty; this company really stands behind their products.

It is advisable to go to the manufacturer's web page to research the product before purchasing it to ensure that it is compatible with your operating system: [...]
TRENDnet 1-Port Multi-Function Print Server TE100-MP1UN (White) Opinions
Worked just fine on Windows 7 . The other reviews for this print server are older, but today the TRENDnet website claims to support Windows 7 (32-bit). It worked just fine for me with a Brother DCP-7040 on two different Windows 7 machines. It did still have unsigned drivers, but after clicking OK to a couple warnings it installed fine and worked.

I also have to say that the installation was dead simple.
OK but not for a novice user . This would not work with my Sharp multi-function printer, but works ok with my Brother multi-function printer on 2 of my 3 computers, and it took about 6 hours of my time to work through the problems and finally change out the printer and start all over again. I am a network engineer, so felt competent to handle the issues without calling tech support, but I doubt the average user could manage it alone.
Easiest Print server! . This is by far the best and easiest print server I have used! I have tried the others but this was the easiest to setup and actually works with the all-in-one, allowing scanning over the network. Don't buy anything else.
Good Product Needs 64 Bit Support . The product was very easy to install and I was able to print within 15 minutes. Setup was intuitive; however, lack of support for Windows 7 64 Bit systems. If you have a newer computer that is 64 Bit, forget using this product, as it will not load or work. I have several computers connected which are not 64 Bit running Windows 7. While some reviews indicated that it would not work with Windows 7 this is only half true, only the 64 Bit Windows 7 is an issue. When installing for the 32 Bit Windows 7 just accept the unverified or unsigned driver warning and it will load and run no problem.
Works and was simple to install...Not for Windows 7 . I was looking for a print server for our Brother DCP 7020 multifunction printer. Previously we had our printer hooked to an old desktop on the Network that wasn't getting much use anymore and wanted to cut down on the power consumption.

This device does that just perfectly. It is only using 1Watt according to my Kill-A-Watt meter where the desktop was using 50 watts just idle.

Installation was a breeze. Pop in the CD and click through the steps then insert the driver CD for the printer and it was working like a charm. Did not work on the one machine we have Windows 7 64bit. Not a complete surprise as that is not an OS that is listed as compatible.

I have not tested the multifunctionality support of this device yet but the printing is just fine. Contrary to the instruction manual you do not have to restrict use to one user at a time. Once connected via the software and then disconnected, printing still is completely functional and no one computer is tying up the print server. The manual says that you have to connect to the print server in order to print and that only one user can be connected at a time.

As for the computer running Windows 7 I am still able to print but only by sharing the printer via another computer. While that is the same as our old setup we are still able to remove the one idling machine from our network. For the money this was our best option given the constraints of how things are setup.

Would buy again. Once the scanning feature is tested I'll report on that.

Update: Scanning worked fine with the print server.

Cons Review
Difficult . Instead of buying a new printer that has built-in wireless, we opted for this print server. I wish we hadn't.
Very difficult to get working, especially if you have multiple computers. Buy this only if you are well-versed in tech.
Print server only allows printing from one machine at a time! . A network print server that only allows printing from one machine at a time? Kind of defeats the purpose of a network print server. To print from a different machine, the user has to open the utility, disconnect from the printer, then the next user has to open the utility and connect to the printer. Not a network print server in my book. it is more of a usb to network media converter.
Not for Windows 7 . DOES NOT WORK ON WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM!

Interesting install. When you run Autorun from the CD, a menu appears, selecting "Install Utility" reveals a confusing sub menu: "Setup Wizard" and "Install Utility" ...(?)

As of June 2011, the Trendnet website does NOT include Windows 7 in the list of OS's. I installed the software from the CD on two XP (SP3) PCs, but could not install the software on a current Windows 7 Home Premium v6.1 SP1. The downloadable files from the Trendnet website are older than the files on the CD.

Ease of Use FYI: On my two PCs running XP, to print I have to open the Trendnet tray icon, click CONNECT, then return to my application and click PRINT. Furthermore, the print server software disconnects after five minutes so if ten minutes later you want to print again, you need to repeat sentence one of this paragraph. ALSO - remember the print server stays connected for five minutes, so no one else can use that multi-function printer until you return to the app and click DISCONNECT. (I thought that technology died in the nineties?)

DOES NOT WORK ON WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM!

This review is from : Airlink101 AMPS240W Wireless Multi-Functional Print Server
It does work with Window7 with workaround . Must use static ip address for it to work with any OS. Then set the wireless connection.
You also have to download your specific printer driver onto the computer that is going to
use the printer. Add a network printer on the computer, it will show if you setup the wireless correctly.
Once priner show up, choose a manual connection by supplying the static ip set. Print test page and you are good to go.
Airlink101 AMPS240W Wireless Multi-Functional Print Server Reviews
Slick Little Device At a Great Price! . After reading many of the reviews, I was a little hesitant in purchasing this print server, but the price was right and with my technical background I felt that I should be able to configure it. I honestly do not understand what all of the negative reviews on this product were about, as I simply followed the instructions provided with the print server, and it came right up. I did have a slight problem with it coming up with a hard coded IP address being the same as my router, instead of being set for DHCP as default, but I quickly resolved that issue, and all worked like a charm. This is truly a slick little device, and I was able to attach my other systems using the static IP address that I set when going through the initial setup process. After getting it configured, which I did using a laptop with Windows 7 64-bit, was able to disconnect the patch cable and utilize the wireless. All three of my systems have Windows 7 64-bit versions on them, two with Ultimate (a desktop and a laptop), and one with Home Premium (also a laptop). I do have to say that I am only using it with a standard laser printer, and not a multi-function printer, so I am not able to comment on the functionality of those pieces. I am very pleased with this purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone.
Airlink101 AMPS240W Wireless Multi-Functional Print Server Opinions
Great product and great price! . Very easy to install by just following the instructions. I don't know why people have problems with this print server. The trick to get consistent printing result is not to use DHCP but static IP setting. After setting SSID correctly the print server and the printer can be placed anywhere in the house. I can print documents wirelessly from my notebook and desktop without encountering any issue. I couldn't be happier with this purchase.
Worked perfectly with Server 2008 and Canon Printer . Purchased to connect a Canon Printer to a Systemax running Server 2008 OS. The printer was a floor above the server and on the other side of the building. Running a CAT 5 cable to it was just not feasible. Bought this and was up and running with in 5 minutes. I installed the software on the server with no problems and in very little time. I have had no problems with it in over a year's time. Highly recommend!
Works Great once it's Installed . Pros:

1. Easy to use once it's installed. Print from any computer on the network, wired or wireless almost immediately. Never have any problems even after rebooting the cable modem or the wireless hub.
2. Multiple systems working on the same network. I have Windows 7, Windows XP both able to print.

Cons:

1. Installation was complicated. It requires a static IP address and was defaulted to the same as my wireless network.
2. Did not work with WPA encryption. Had to use WEP which is less secure.
3. Limited to one printer. I have a photo printer I would love to have been able to hook up as well.

Overall it's a pretty cool little device that I have taken for granted and forget it's even there. I routinely print documents in my office downstairs from my laptop while laying in bed at night, and my kids are able to print from all their laptops and from my desktops with out any problems. Previously I had the printer hooked up to a desktop, and had to share the printer and couldn't print unless the desktop was running (waste of power). I would recommend this to someone who is tech savvy, knows someone that is, or is patient enough to try and figure out the installation and setup.

Works fine for Win 7 . Just to clarify the Win7 setup, use DCHP to discover the IP address and then type that in the Manual IP setup (ie static IP).
slukster . While skeptical about this print server working with my Canon IP4000 (not a multi-function printer) considering it is not listed as a compatible printer and because of the reviews, I took a chance when I found a great price ($22 including shipping) at another website. I am running Windows 7 64bit on my HP G72 laptop. I followed the quick install guide and got my printer up and running with minimal problems. Most of my problems were caused by me jumping ahead in the install process without following the directions provided to the letter. After printing out my first page I was ecstatic that it worked for me. The only thing I have not been able to do is have it work wirelessly. What I mean is that when I disconnect the patch cable from the print server to the wireless router, it won't print. Connect it and it prints perfectly. Since I plan on keeping my printer and wireless router located in the same area this will not be an issue for me. If I needed my router and printer to be in different areas then I would try fixing my problem trying to get the printer to connect wirelessly to my router. Since I no longer need to connect the printer cable directly to the laptop I can print wirelessly from anywhere in the house.
P.S. - I would consider myself above average when it comes to computers and their installation but I am far from being an expert.

Cons Review
won't work with windows 7 . it works on windows xp. i bought it for my windows 7 and spoke to airlink tech support and told me that it won't work with win 7. also, my dell 1600n laser printer is not compatible.
Airlink101 AMPS240W had inadequate instructions never could get it working . I bought the Airlink101 AMPS240W to use with my Canon MFP, thinking that several PCs on my small office network could share the unit. I followed the installation directions, but could not get the unit to address any of the printer's functions.

I'm very experienced with networking, but I gave up after a hour of fiddling and called Airlink's tech support. The tech support guy spent another hour trying to get it working, without success. My office network is the simplest plain vanilla affair, so I figured there must be some problem with the unit, or else the instructions are inadequate.

I advised "g_book_man", the seller, that I was unable to get the unit working, asked for an RMA, and was refused. I finally had to file a claim with Amazon. It PAYS to spend a buck or two more, if necessary, for something at Amazon - they always come to bat for you!
It only do what needs to do that's it. . It's a very basic device, Do exactly what needs to do, print wiresly in a LAN environment.

I would like to do more things with this device (let's say advance features) like, printing in WAN environment, use of IPP (Internet Printing), etc. But it doesn't work for that, and when you call support.... hmmm I have to say that it sucks!
They tell you that IPP is not supported (when that box and manual says that it is supported), they don't know how to resolve issues and even they close the tickets without your approval.

So my recommendation is, if you just need a device to make you printer wireless without any kind of advance feature and any kind of support. Go for this.
