SEH Technology myUTN-50 USB Device Server M05002 Terminal & Device Servers
This review is from : MYUTN-50 USB Device Server Ethernet To USB Server
Powerful device server with poor multimedia support . I purchased the My-UTN for use with a USB sound card over a network. I also tried to use the device with a USB TV tuner and USB speakers and a USB webcam.
My conclusion is that this device is NOT designed for use with multimedia USB devices at all. Based on my research of the device, it features impressive security, has great IPV6 support and WAN access abilities. It should work quite well with hard drives, dongles and of course printers (I haven't tried any of these). But don't buy it for multimedia devices.
I am rating this device 4 stars because it is well made, performs well and is easy to configure/use. However, the device manual states compatibility with SOHO and home entertainment devices, which I have not been able to reproduce. As another review mentioned, even with the latest firmware and software, access to an iPod seems sketchy as well. I did not notice any speed issues with it. I did setup its UDP and TCP ports to forward as well as optimize its MAC address priority in my router...so no issues with performance speed.
I believe this device may be better suited for an office environment for use with its intended devices.
Update: I learned why USB audio/video devices do not work with this device. USB audio/video devices are most always isochronous in nature, meaning data goes back and forth constantly in stream. The MyUTN only seems to work with "interrupt", "control" and "bulk" USB transfer devices.

Cons Review
Not too great unfortunately. . Easy to install and use, and reasonable price, but in the end it really doesn't work very well. I wanted to connect a remote PC--and by remote I mean all the way in my basement, on the same network--with iTunes and sync my various iPods and iPad. Seemed to try to work, but constantly loses connection to the device and even when it does look like its working it is *extremely* slow. And the software on the PC side keeps telling me that the remote USB device has been connected for more than 10 minutes, even though I changed the settings to not warn/remind me for 60 minutes. I did not try a printer, so it might be OK for that. I did update the software, and the release notes specifically mentioned connecting an iPhone, so I think its reasonable to expect it to work with my iPod. It does seem to work OK just connectiong a thumb drive type device (slowly), so I gave it two stars.
