Awesome product as advertised . I bought this got in 3 days unpack it plug it up that's it. No software to install or configuration needed. Since it has 4 port switch I am using 3 out of 4 ports. 1.) Internet traffic (laptop), 2.) for Internet Radio, 3.) Hook up to Dish Network HD receiver to watch On-Demand stuff. It comes with a CD but I did use it. REMEMBER to hook up this directly to wall outlet for full maximum speed, if you use any Power Surge device or extension cord it will reduce the ethernet speed. I have tested this several different ways but directly to wall outlet is the best way.

Seems to work ... but ... . Ordered Friday, received Saturday as requested. I was converting to HomePlug from WiFi due to the unavailability of a 64-bit driver for the wireless card in my PC, uncovered while doing an update to W7.

I read the reviews which indicated the plug blocked an outlet, I figured no big deal, but when I got them I realized that it blocks *BOTH* plugs in the standard 110V outlet we have in the USA. You could get a 2-wire AC plug to fit the otherwise unused outlet, but a grounded plug will not fit unless you hacked the Bite-View package. I ended up using short 2-wire extensions for the Brite-View to attach to. The folks at Brite-View would do well to provide similar adapters in the package.

Next ... I went to install the PLC Device Utility on a laptop running W7 ... the software will not load! I used an older PC running XP and installed the software ... then I plugged in the adapters and tested and configured them using the PC.

My application was to connect several remote stations to my router over the power line ... eventually I was able to get the boxes to talk to each other; I had to plug the Brite-View boxes into outlets that were separate from those used for the computers/printers. I was able to get the hardware I had to get back on line up, but it looks like some areas of the house will have difficulty connecting ... perhaps they are wired to a different AC leg. Funny, one reason I'd been looking at power line networking was that WiFi has difficulty getting from one end of the house to the other; it looks like I may have similar issues with PLC.

Overall ... the product works as advertised. I see download speeds as fast as those I see with the WiFi port, which means they are probably both limited by the DSL bandwidth. For a basic connection the things are pretty much plug and play. In a way I wish I had ponied up the extra cash for the name brand products, but given the significant discount as compared to the name brands I am completely satisfied.

HD streaming across powerline ethernet . This is a nice little package from an off brand name that works as advertised. Simply plug in the bridge into the power outlet and hook it up to your router that's connected to your broadband connection and then plug in your switch wherever else you like. I had it up and running in minutes. The advertised 200 Mbps is no joke either as I was able to stream HD video from my media server to my PS3 no problem (I might note that the 85 Mbps products did a terrible job at this... so don't buy that!). As an added bonus the LEDs on the device are pretty bright and serve as night lights!
BV Powerline Ethernet . These little buggers really saved my movies streaming life. Although wireless video is possible, it's way less reliable and slower than wired streaming. THis is where the Brite-View's PEs fill in. They work in my home like charms, virtually making my place a network ready environment. Bravo!
Easy to Use . So far So good, the Powerline adapter is fast and very easy to use. The only Negative I have is the lack of a instruction book.
Worked Perfectly Out of the Box - Highly Recommended . We bought these "Brite-View 200 Mbps Digital Home Powerline Ethernet Adapters included 1-port Bridge & 4-port Switch" to replace our wireless Internet access used by our Roku HD-XR Player and X-Box. Here are my observations:

+ Worked perfectly out of the box: Setup - just plugged the main unit into a wall socket and connected an Ethernet cable (included) to it and my router, connected the 4-port unit to the wall socket near my HDTV and connected Ethernet cables to my equipment.

+ Fast: Able to stream HD movies over my Roku without any dropouts

What a pleasure to get technology that actually works as advertised and was easy to install. I didn't even read the instructions until everything was up and working!

Highly Recommended!

Workes like a Champ . I don't know what everyone is talking about. I didn't have to do a thing but to make sure that I'm on the same electrical panel box and plug it in. My Modem is in the SOHO I built in the garage and I plugged the 4 port in the living room area. I use one port for streaming Netflix movies and another for my laptop. Simultaneous use still gives me almost 6Mbps download which I subscribe for from ATT Uverse. No complaints here and a better value than I've seen elseware.
Quick inexpensive and simple with a few caveats . I decided on this PowerLine ethernet adapter based on the fact that for $99 you get a single port PLUS a 4-port extender and this fit my requirements perfectly. I had been attempting to get my Apple Wireless Network (802.11n) to extend to my Playstation, Dish Network DVR and PVR with little success and this appeared to be the answer.

Set-up in my house took 10 minutes. Plugged in the first 4-port ethernet bridge where my TV is, the second then went in to my office and I plugged in the Ethernet to my network. From there I plugged in the three devices connected to my TV and they all worked FIRST TIME!

With the wireless network my Playstation would never stream a movie from my NAS box upstairs (even if I offered it money) without stuttering constantly and then finally failing outright. Now the stream starts within a couple of seconds and suffers no stuttering or corruption.

My PVR (AppleTV) is a LOT happier with this set-up instead of Wireless and I can download an HD movie trailer and start watching it within a few seconds. Awesome!

The Dish DVR also works perfectly well and I am VERY pleased.

A few caveats:

1) These devices MUST plug directly into a wall socket and pretty much take up two sockets because of their size. You cannot use a power strip and if you do they will not work properly.

2) The manuals have been translated from Taiwanese to a language approximating English by someone with a tenuous grasp of either language who was suffering a migraine on translation day. Seriously, these manuals are amongst some of the worst translated the world has ever witnessed, DO NOT look for them to help you!

3) The included configuration utility is somewhat odd. I use Mac OS and it is Windows only so I had to dig out an old Laptop to try it and I still could not fathom what on earth was going on. My advice is this: If you are in a single family home (not a condo or anything like that) LEAVE WELL ENOUGH ALONE! The utility seems to mainly configure security and is not necessary usually.

I can't say anything for the longevity of the devices as yet and if anything goes wrong I shall update this review.

Cons Review
Terrific.....for a week . I took it out of the box, plugged it in and Eureka! it worked perfectly. A week later it suddenly stopped working. I downloaded the documentation, read it, trouble shot it. Dead!!. I returned it.
can't get it to work - manual not helpful - no support . I can't get it to work. The software won't recognize the devices, I tried entering the passwords on the devices, tried a factory reset, no luck. I know it's not my wires as I've had other powerline stuff work in my house.
