Billy's home plug av . I purchased this product because I didn't want to run ethernet cable under my house. This thing uses the AC power wiring in my house instead. Wow - it works great! I play Counter-Strike and had been using wireless "N". With the Innoband Home Plug latency improved so much I couldn't believe it. Just plugs into the wall socket and is as good as ethernet cabling with none of the hassle!! It can even be moved around from room to room. Takes like 1 minute to set up.

Excellent for solar system monitoring . I recently installed a solar electric system that came with a web box which allows me to monitor the electric output from the system. My installer was going to run an Ethernet line from my garage to my 2nd floor router. It was extremely difficult to wire, and the exposed wire was going to look ugly. I remembered reading about this type of product and decided to get an unit just to try it out. Boy! I'm glad I made that choice. I'm able to monitor the output using a browser from my home network and also from the remote side. The Innoband HomePlug AV kit was a snap to install. 100% Plug and play. No configuration or setup needed. I don't have any issue at all. Highly recommended!

Cons Review
Disappointing . After getting this in and setting it up (which was pretty easy), I tried some bandwidth tests on my local network. I only got about 8-12 Mbps actual throughput!!?? I get twice that on my 802.11g network. This was also nowhere near the 100Mbps maximum of 100-baseT. I tried to move the plugs around the house to see if I could get better speeds, but the max I could get was 15Mbps, and this was with both plugs in the same outlet. There was no way this was worth the $$$ to replace my current wireless bridge network. I think I'll replace my 802.11g routers with 802.11n once prices come down somewhat.
So, would I recommend it? Maybe. If you need to connect something in your living room to your network and have no idea of how to setup a wireless bridge, then this is a much simpler option with comparable speeds. Otherwise, if you need speeds faster than 15 Mbps, go another route..
