Bountiful Wifi WiFi 2.4GHz Wireless Router bwrg1000 Routers & Gateways - Wireless
This review is from : Wireless Router (b+g)
Looking for a router with RANGE? This is it... . I've tried numerous wireless routers: Belkin, Linksys, Netgear, Ruckus and others. I have a special need for wireless surveillance over a 5 acre property. Previously the Netgear RangeMax Pre-N router provided the best coverage. Then I discovered this 1 watt (maximum allowable power) router by BountifulWiFi and could not be more pleased. I now getting 3x+ the performance at 500+ feet through walls. It was easy to setup and has numerous features(DMZ, port forwarding, and all security options, etc.) The ONLY minor complaint is some fan noise--which I guess it needs to cool the extra power...

Wireless Router (b+g) Reviews
Over hyped! . I bought this router thinking it will solve the impenetrable areas not served by my Belkin N1 router......lo and behold.....the reach appears similar to my old Belkin N1 to my dismay after shelling out close to $300 for this crap! I live in a place with cement walls and so to make sure i have added power I got the booster antenna....omnidirectional type and still it was unable to penetrate the areas unserved........I gambled and ofcourse a big loss on my part............the only thing that impressed me is their 24/7 hotline support which seems pretty supportive and helpful! So for those living in houses with cemented walls beware.......it may or may not serve the purpose depending on you location ofcourse....

Wireless Router (b+g) Opinions
This puppy knots socks! . If you have a difficult wireless LAN issue that you want to solve - this one simply will do the trick.
Consider an adobe 16 inch thick walled 4,500 sq foot two story home and the wireless penetration issues that occurs shooting downstairs and across the house 150 ft through what is effectively ~ 5-6 feet of walls and floors - and you'll get the idea.
Now we even can get signal at pool side through 2 walls and 150+ ft almost like you were plugged in to the box! - Probably underwater for that mater - but I didn't test that part out. :-)
The unit is plug and play for most home and office use and allows for more intricate setups. Uhh... negatives? - well being this powerful they put in a small cooling fan - so don't expect abosolute silence.
Remember one thing - if your ISP isn't giving you the bandwidth you need this won't speed it up - it will simply pass whatever bandwidth you have as fast and as far as you can do legally (as their packaging reminds you).
Plug and play - the only poopie thing is you need to remember to purchase two antennae to make the unit complete. Don't worry about "N" - this "G" router will do the trick.
If you don't need a tank - get this guy's younger brother @ 1/2 Watt and considerably better pricing I would guess that it would do the trick for most situations (not tested).

Bountiful WiFi 1 Watt router . Installation took one call to the help line as the owner's manual was not complete. Then the router would not remain stable for more than about 7 hours and was returned to the manufacturer for a RMA replacement. We are still waiting the replacement. What happened was the ethernet connections remained hard connected to the Internet but the five test wireless connections all lost their IP addresses that could only be recoverd by rebooting the router. Then about 7 hours later, this repeated. We still don't have solid performance data to present. However, we did get some testing and it looked good even if unstable.
Leopard users please read ! . I am running 10.5.1 and Safari 304 hangs when accessing the internal web page. Firefox 30b1 has same issue. Spent over an hour with tech support (HIGHLY qualified agent; Called at 2am, they have 24hr support) and could not fix it.
Tried Camino 153 and it works perfectly.
Only nig is the LOUD fan noise ... May have to locate it in another room.

It is doing the job... . I was expecting a much more powerful unit, my house is only 200/lf from the office building, I get a stronger signal then with a "N" router but not a great deal stronger. I couldn't imagine this unit being able to hit a range of 1/4 mile. In two weeks time I have had to power up the unit twice for it lost the signal. One can hear the fan in it that is constantly running as long as it is on, this is okay for the office, but wouldn't want it in the house.
Cons Review
Not having the greatest luck with this one... . I got this a few months ago & my laptop constantly drops its wireless connection. The only way to get it back is rebooting the router. This sounds very similar to the issue another reviewer was having. An email to support has so far gone unanswered (sent it 5 days ago). No documentation online other than their manual. Pretty disappointed in this one - I've hooked up my old DLink router which is probably worth about a tenth of what this one cost me & it's running like a champ. Laptop hasn't lost its connection once. I'm definitely asking myself why I blew all that money on this! I guess if it worked it'd be great... Unfortunately for me, so far, it does not.
Poor customer service . I purchased this router in May. It's now the end of July and I still do not have a working router. Bountiful has my defective one and seems incapable of either telling the truth or sending me a new router.
I was told I would have one cross shipped to me by bountiful after Amazon refused to honor the warranty. That didn't happen.
I was told by bountiful then that they had my router ready to ship to me immediately. after 4 days, I called and asked where my router was and was told that a supervisor at bountiful had cancelled my router and sent the unit to some other customer.
I have now been told that bountiful is overnighting a router to me. We'll see.
Do yourself a favor and never buy anything from this company unless you want to throw money away.

HORRIBLE . I give this one star because I don't think I can give it ZERO stars. Purchased 80 of these for a commercial property. Was told by the "salesman" it would cover the length of 3 football fields (300 yards) and that signal would go thru anything. The unit they sent to test prior to our purchase seemed fine. Over the last year almost ALL power supplies have died. Bountiful "claimed" it was a problem with their original manufacturer and they sent us "free" replacements that were 2nd generation and from a "new" factory. Well.....most of these have now started to fail. Thats the biggest problem. The other problem is that the coverage they claim the unit can cover seems to get smaller and smaller with the age of the unit (only one year). After a little over a year, you can step away from the unit just 20 feet and see the signal drop from 5 bars to just ONE. This is horrible. Now I am getting hounded by the sales people to upgrade to their NEWER units where all problems have been corrected. They have already lied 3 times with me....no way I would trust this company or their products ever again.
Bountiful Wireless Router a BUST . This was the second Bountiful Router I have had, both of which "FRIED". When it worked the range was very good but they are not very long lived, and at that price I would expect much more. I just went to a Cisco (Liksys) Router and got the same range at about 1/4 the cost, and MUCH easier to setup. I would NOT recommend this router to any one.
