The current Westell Users Guide is available here.
The Westell 6100 has been shipping since May 2004 and is the current default modem/router supplied to all new BellSouth residential customers. It has both ethernet and USB connectivity.
The BellSouth supplied 6100 (Models B90-and C90-) are specifically designed with a unique firmware, interface, and features that are different from the standard retail 6100 models.
Although they are physically different from the BellSouth supplied 2100/2200 modems they have basically identical interfaces and functionality.
The 6100 features an improved chipset featuring DMH (Dynamic Multi-Hybrid) technology to provide better performance on marginal lines, however the look and interface are exactly the same.

Good DSL Modem . I know several people have had problems with this modem, but I never have. One reviewer even said they fail after a year, but I have had mine for over 4 years now without any problems. The only problems I have had were my own fault by changing some of the settings and then having to re-setup the modem via Verizon's software. As for Verizon's support; it is not great, but not so bad either. They treat everyone like a moron, but I guess that is to be expect as 80% of people are not computer literate and they did fix my problem the one time I called them. Also, one should check if their ISP actually supports the modem before buying a third party DSL modem. I would never buy a used DSL modem though as you never know why that person is selling it. Calling your ISP and having them help reset the modem is the best bet for those having problems.
Westell 6100 DSL Router Modem (C90) Reviews
Works just fine . This is a perfectly functional modem for BellSouth or AT&T Southeast DSL. One can find instructions for setup online. Bridging the modem for use with a router may require some technical brainpower and you could be happier with a newer AT&T modem. I did not find that process to be straightforward but I blame Belkin and not Westell at this point. Be sure to consider your cable provider's options or U-Verse as they may be faster or less expensive.
Westell 6100 DSL Router Modem (C90) Opinions
Thank You Amazon . This time props go totally to Amazon, long story short. I had a roomate for a short time and we hooked his wireless router to my DSL line, by the time he moved out, my old router had been misplaced, so I bought this used through Amazon for 10% the cost of a new one. Needless to say a month after buying and installing this one, my old one turned up....and even more ironic my old roomate hasn't been back to pick up his router yet.

Cons Review
it breaks like it had an expiration date . A year ago I got DSL service from ATT buying the modem from them, overpaying this item (I paid 50 bucks). They sent me a Westell 6100 that worked fine, until...... you guessed: it turned 13 month old, a month after warranty expiration. I was told by the ATT customer service guy these modems usually die after a year of use, then searched internet forums and all of them say so: it lasts a little bit more than a year. So, buy a different one or don't overpay, I would be OK if I had paid 10-15 dollars for it.
Do yourself a favor just buy from your ISP . I get enough BS and drama from my coworkers, family, and people at walmart, don't buy this device, it's really low budget and didn't work on anything i had, i tried to return it and had so many problems and straight up rude customer service people, "did you even look at the specs?, uh huh, yeah, well then its just you and not the device, sir, sir we test it just fine here"
did not work . Received product in a timely manner and everything looked VERY good I could say it looked BRAND new. I connected the router in the present connection and tried everything and did not work. I do have an spare router which is the one I am using now, but this one did not turn on at all. I returned the item and I received an immediate response from the seller confirming that they will return my money as soon as they get the router back. Great service, but item did not work.
