This review is from : BELKIN 150N WIRELESS USB ADAPTER (F6D4050)
Solid 2.4GHz device with Ralink RT3070 compatiblre . I have been exposed to two (2) Belkin 150N devices.

One is the older F6D series and the newer is the F7D/F9L series (my F9L1001 actually reports itself as a F7D1101).

The older series is a Ralink RT3070 compatible. Note this number when dealing with drivers. While you can load the Belkin drivers, the more universal/generic drivers from Ralink itself[1] seem to work fine. I tend to prefer universal/generic IHV drivers because I hate it when two vendor's drivers fight when you've loaded a vendor-specific driver, then changed the device (at least if you install more than one, not likely in this case, but you never know when you'll need to switch devices). In Linux, you'll need a recent 2.6.3x series kernel with the RT3070 "staging" drivers that are not yet fully QA tested (e.g., for Fedora, you'll need the RPM Fusion "kmod-staging" package). Latter kernel releases like 2.6.38 or 2.6.40/3.0 will have them, possibly as release and in the same driver as the RT2870, etc...

The newer series will be a Realtek 8188SU compatible. Note these chipset when dealing with drivers, most specifically the "SU" (and not "CU/CUS", which is the RTL8188CUS/8192CU). Again, I like to use the universal/generic drivers from Realtek itself [2] (although if yours is a CE/CUS, choose the appropriate driver). In Linux, the Realtek RTL8712/8188SU/8192SU driver (rtl8712u_usb) is inmore recent 2.6.38 or 2.6.40/3.0 kernel, possibly marked as a "staging" drivers. While it may work with the Realtek RTL8188CUS/RTL8192CU driver (r8712u_usb), try the specific one for the "SU" series first. In either case, they seem to work, just like the Ralink driver.

BELKIN 150N WIRELESS USB ADAPTER (F6D4050) Reviews
Now the windows 7 drivers are available . UPDATE: Belkin has released the Windows 7 drivers for the unit! Sweet! I changed it to 5 stars and am very happy with this product. Thanks Belkin for providing the new drivers!

I like this network card but I changed my OS to windows 7 several months after buying this card and it definately does NOT work with windows 7. As of January 10, 2010 Belkin has not provided drivers for windows 7. Seems that Belkin should have provided the drivers for win7 by now... It may never work with win 7.... If you don't plan on "upgrading" to win7 then it's a great card but until they release a driver for win7, it will be useless for me.
BELKIN 150N WIRELESS USB ADAPTER (F6D4050) Opinions
Range . I really do not understand the people that had range problems with this little jewel. I have a 4 bedroom house and have used this from one end (where the sender is) to the other with very reliable service. Maybe the problem is with the sending unit with the "nay sayers".
Updated review . Do not buy any Belken product. They do not stand behind their product-they charge more for technical support than what it costs to replace some products new. I bought an older version of this product and when I connected my wireless adapter I got solid ACT light but no PWR light. I called technical support at 877-763-5771 and first got some guy in India telling me I won $600 in gift certificates and only had to pay $7.50 to receive my gift to pay postage. I told him I just wanted tech support he then gave me another number to call 1800-555-1212. I called and then had to choose from a list of Belken tech centers to get a 3rd number to call 877-637-5858. Finally, after reaching the tech support center in Hartford CT I was told tech support is $100 minimum. I told the tech the product was not even worth it and I could replace it for way less. He said I did not have to use tech support then. I told him if he did not assist me for free I'd write a scathing review on their product and he his attitude was that he did not care. So here is my review. Do not buy any product from this company. Their products are faulty, they offer no practical help. Their help center is designed to purge you of more money after they already got you to buy a faulty product. Only good thing I have to say is installation was easy apart from it did not work.

Update: I emailed customer support after my failed phone attempt and they responded with a written set of instructions a day later. I learned the Network card must be unplugged when installing the driver or it will not be recognized. I reinstalled following their instructions and it is working now. I've updated my rating from 1 to 4 stars now. Still not a full 5 because I need to see how the product performs long term and like most hardware you should be able to install the driver while the hardware is connected for it it work. I don't see why it must be unplugged when installing the driver.
Excellent especially for use with WD media players . This product is really good and works especially well with Western Digital media players. The price at $15.99 is excellent and much more competitive than anything else on the market. I definitely recommend buying this device!
adapter review . This was easy to install but the range is not as strong if you put the computer farther away.. but for a few feet then it is okay.. So if you want adpater for strong range this one is not for you..
NICE AND EASY WIRELESS ADAPTOR WITH WIRELESS - N !! . PROS -
1) AFFORDABLE COMPAIR TO SOME ADAPTERS
2) NICE RANGE - 150-200 Meters
3) PERFORMANCE - UP TO 80 % OF UR NETWORK SPEED (Like if ur ISP network speed 1.5 mbps u will receive 1.2 mbps)
4) life time warranty

CONS-

1) SOME TIME U HAVE TO REINSTALL DRIVERS ( USUAL PROBLEM WITH WINDOWS)
2) DO NOT SUPPORT MAC OS i.e. APPLE COMPUTERs.

Over all its nice product !!

Cons Review
Easy to install but ability to receive signals is questionable . I give this 5 stars ease of install (Windows Vista), but 1 star for actual performance (i.e. the ability to actually receive a Wi-Fi signal). The packaging was surprisingly easy to open, which is almost a half star these days. The setup was clear and easy with the install CD. I was happy to note that the insertion of the USB was a snap. I was worried that it would crowd out another USB port, but there was just enough room for another normal USB device in the adjacent space. Finally, the true test of this device is it's ability to receive a decent wireless signal. I studied the serial number and apparently this is version 2 of the series. A subsequent Internet search also confirmed that no Windows 7 drivers (as of 1/22/2010) were "available" as of yet. So if I were to move up to Win 7, I could have been stranded--but to be perfectly fair, the actual specifications on the box only mention Vista and XP.

I regret to say that I found that the Belkin N150 was terrible. It could not pick up a signal two rooms away, which is far below expectations. The walls in between are the regular drywall and stucco kind of walls, so I ruled out interference.

My recommendation is steer away from this model, but if you do get it be pretty sure you don't plan on upgrading to Win 7 anytime soon, and of course, to keep your receipt.
Don;t be fooled by price. . Never did get it working on Windows 7. I got it working on VISTA, but has a poor range. It went back. Oh...and tech support. Poor!
Don't buy this adapter you'll be sorry. . Save your money. This is not a quality USB wireless adapter. This model stopped working after less than three months of ownership.

This list pretty much sums up my dissatisfaction with Belkin:

1. Poor Signal: Even while it worked, however, Belkin's gadget couldn't pick up wireless signals from the wireless modem in the next room. My Wii console picked up wireless signals easier than Belkin.

2. Poorly Built: I would have to plug it in several times before the USB thing lit up and was recognized by computer. But, by next restart -- Belkin would have to be unplugged and replugged again to commence work. Big time hassle.

3. Extremely Slow Download Speeds: The download speeds with this wireless adapter were also poor. No, it's not my download capability: I have high speed cable. With Belkin's model, I was getting download speeds that couldn't even rival a 56 K Modem. If you're downloading a page online, you'll be waiting forever.

4. It Stopped Working After Three Months: And to add insult to injury, after getting a new computer, and putting it into a USB port to get it to start up -- NOTHING. Thought it could have been the ports I was using, so I put the Belkin into another machine. Nothing. Very upsetting and a waste of my good money.

I will never buy an electronic gadget from this company again.
