DUOLINKS SW24 VPN ROUTER DUAL WAN
This review is from : Duolinks SW24 Vpn Router Dual Wan
What a router should be! . Our local ISP (Verizon) requires PPPoE routers that can specify the DNS to use, otherwise one gets a horrid deluge of advertising instead of a "page not found" message. One also loses a chance to edit the mistyped URL address. My SMC router allows only dynamic DNSs so I started hunting for a new VPN router.
Cisco was friendly, but didn't know their router and the promise to call back within a week never materialized. Other vendors didn't know, didn't care, or didn't speak English. Syswan, on the other hand, promptly emailed a thoughtful response and even followed up with a screen capture to further prove their router could do PPPoE with user specified DNSs -- impressive to say the least.
But getting the Syswan SW24 VPN router in hand was the most impressive of all.
First of all, the thing has real heft and is in a solid metal case. It even has wall/shelf mounting brackets if the weight alone isn't enough to keep the cables from wagging the router. No light weight plastic.
Secondly, it installed on my network (Windoze server, Linux server, three print servers and 8 workstations) in 12 minutes -- including a miscue when I forgot to release my previous IP leases (run/cmd and executing "ipconfig /release" followed by executing "ipconfig /renew" -- or just reboot).
Thirdly, the layout of the connections and front panel is logical. No connections on the sides or front. Reasonable spacing between connectors. I can tell what's going on from a distance because the front panel LEDs are well spaced (not bunched together).
Fourthly, the configuration and control interface is clear and rational. It doesn't treat me like an idiot, expect me to be a scholar in transliterated Sanskrit, or sneer at me like a Unix sophmore. This router is full featured and willing to give you as little or as much access to the features as you are comfortable with.
The router looks & feels well made, it acts like a premium router, it is a delight to configure, the manufacturer is responsive and knowledgeable, and installation was effortless -- I can't ask for more.
Oh yes, no sweat if you only have one internet service connection (WAN). This router works fine with just one ISP connection -- and you're ready for when you need more bandwidth and a second connection.

Duolinks SW24 Vpn Router Dual Wan Reviews
Great dual-homed router; fantastic customer support . This does exactly what it claims to do, and does it well. I have two internet connections, and this lets me use the combined bandwidth reliably. The firmware is difficult to work with, but it's well organized and I can't really see how it can be improved given all the very granular options that are available. The VPN connection works very well, but you do have to purchase the client after the trial period is over. Fortunately, it's not expensive.
When I ran into a problem with advanced configurations, it took me no time at all to get a technical support person on the line. Better yet, they didn't stick me with some first-level tech. Instead, they connected me directly with someone that knew *everything* about the router and the most recent version of the firmware. They walked me through the advanced options, and even offered to log in remotely when I couldn't solve the problem myself. When all was said and done, they spent a couple of hours on the phone with me and were amazingly patient the entire time. They even followed up to make sure it was working properly. I wish more companies offered this level of support. If you're looking for a dual-homed router, this is the one!

Duolinks SW24 Vpn Router Dual Wan Opinions
So far so good . I purchased this product to share my two broadband services on one network. The setup was fairly easy, the LED setup is useful to trouble shoot any problems, the documentation is pretty detailed. It offers a secure web access for its setup although the security certificate can be annoying for your browser a bit.
This equipment was basically used within a small office environment. No reboots or any fine tuning have been necessary after the first 2 weeks of operation so far. The performance has been steady after several GBs of data transfers and millions of connections, the load balancing have been functioning as you would expect...
There could be some minor issues for very advance users with complicated networking needs, but so far, I connected a GB switch, a network printer and a VOIP modem to its LAN ports and already forgot about it...

Dual Internet Connections is great! . My Comcast connections is fast but unstable. I have lost my connection several times a day for weeks and Comcast can't seem to fix it. When Comcast is working, the speed is great. I finally took matters into my own hands with this dual WAN router. I added Qwest DSL to the mix which seems to be very stable but not that fast. Linking them together with the SW24 solved my problem. When Comcast is up and working my internet traffic routes the fast way. When Comcast is down, my internet traffic routes the stable direction. If you need a very reliable internet connection, this is an excellent way to go.
Even Better Than I'd Hoped For . I was already planning to give the SYSWAN Duolinks SW24 VPN an excellent review. The thing works and works damned well. It has a huge number of configuration options (almost all of which work just fine in their default modes). And once I got the device configured correctly for my somewhat unique situation (one of my two internet connections goes down a lot, sometimes hundreds of times a day), the SW24 handled switching WANs better and faster than I could have hoped.
Then I ran into a small issue involving the SW24's ability to send eMail Alerts to me. I eMailed SYSWAN's support department with my questions and a human being responded within one day! Their response included a polite and friendly explanation of how I was misunderstanding one aspect of the eMail Alert system's functionality. Plus they provided advice and suggestions for making the eMail Alert system work with my specific hosting service. I didn't even think to tell them who hosts my eMail service; I simply provided them with the eMail address I was using and they took the initiative to look it up and discover that I was hosting my eMail on GoDaddy. I am blown away!
If I have any complaint at all it is only that I wish they provided a way to get a deeper understanding of how the various SW24 options work and how they might interact with other settings in the device. An online knowledgebase would probably be ideal for this.
All in all I can't recommend the SYSWAN Duolinks SW24 VPN highly enough.

Great product ! . Simple to setup, easy to use, excellent performance, wonderful customer service. I am a satisfied customer! Go ahead, just buy this one; you will be glad you did.
It doesn't get any better than this . If you need to connect two wan's together it really doesn't get any better than this. The product is well built, the interface has tons of options and the technical support is amazing.Frankly, it's the support that puts it over the top. Email them with an issue and get quick, educated replies to your specific problem. I wish this company had more products we could use.
Dual WAN load balancing router . We had so many network problems we decided to get a second Internet connection. The Syswan Duolinks SW24 VPN router had few reviews and was a relatively unknown product, but we took a chance anyway. That's partly because the price was so attractive. Once it arrived I was really impressed. It took only a couple minutes and we were live, with a load balanced network connection.
After a few days we noticed the router was rebooting very often. I called technical support and they helped diagnose the problem. It had nothing to do with the router, and we were back up and running quickly. We've been running without a single problem for about 3 months now.

Enterprise grade function at home office price . I work for a widely and internationally geographically diverse company. In fact, of the entire group of engineers that report to me, only one actually goes to a company office each day with the rest of us (including myself) working from home offices unless at meetings on customer premises. As such we need reliable network connection. My cable ISP is very fast but typically will drop anywhere from 1 to several times a week with outages between a few seconds to a few minutes. Upon calling for resolution, one gets the standard "we'll have to send a technician out" even while it is clear that the problem lies in the CO and each time all at the remote end tests out just fine. This, however, is not acceptable when one requires this connection for one's livelihood.
I started by ordering a DSL line as a backup then began researching failover routers to automate recovery and keep outage to a minimum. While it would certainly have been possible to, upon outage of the cable ISP, connect the DSL to my router, many times, the cable may have been back up again by the time I would get the DSL up. Sometimes, when in the middle of important con calls or other methods of exchange, these minutes may have been rather important. After extensive research I found this device and I could not be happier.
When one digs into this device, for just a little over $200, one gets Enterprise IT grade functionality that would typically sell well North of $1k. It's not perfect but for a home office where not a faultless connection, but rather seriously consistent connectivity is required, it's just the ticket. Setup and configuration was quite smooth assuming one has some experience of how to configure routers and now that it is settled in and running, if one connection drops, other than seeing any IM client or Skype drop and reconnect if its session was on the failed WAN link or a call that was established on the failed WAN link dropping, one never sees it. The only noticeable change is that the connection is a little slower given that the DSL is quite a lot slower and I am load balancing. Even at that, if one isn't doing anything that directly, from a user experience, shows a degradation in performance, it may not even be noticed.
Overall, an astounding device especially considering the price of it.
