Misleading... Not really BT 3.0 . This device works immediately after software installation and has a lot of options. It also allows the support of many different profiles. The range is awesome.
Now the bad part. According to their tech support it does not support BT 3.0+HS which means no 24mbit/s speeds even if you have WiFi. They basically created a new crippled spec that isn't defined by Bluetooth. (Check the Bluetooth website for "Bluetooth 3.0 ERD" it is not there.) Very misleading.

Perfect Bluetooth . I bought this bluetooth adapter because it was a power class 1 device with a range of 300+ feet and i was sick of loosing connection with my old bluetooth adapter. the old one would randomly loose connection now and then, and seeing as i use it for a wireless headset, i wasn't going to put up with it. THIS device on the other hand is perfect. i use a Motorola S9 headset paired with it and i can walk down the hall a good 15-20 feet through a cement wall before it looses connection. the only way you can take advantage of the full 300 foot range is if both devices are class 1, but trust me this is a HUGE upgrade from a class 2 or 3. for a difference of 5-10 dollars i'd highly recommend getting this adapter over others just because of the increased power. installation was as harmless as can be, the drivers come on a mini-cd and loaded perfectly on windows 7, no issues.

As good as it gets? . It feels extra shiny having the cutting edge "3.0"... but the only noteworthy change (I believe) of the new version is increased data transfer rate for certain hardware. Thus it does NOT mean better connections/range etc. All my other devices are pre3.0. (see the other review about the false claim of v3.0... on the other hand, I have no use for major data transfer via bluetooth; pics from cellphone, music to headphones, and input devices are what I use bluetooth for.)
I've been using the built in bluetooth (class 1) on my Dell laptop for the past 4 years, and this dongle is for my new desktop. They get the exact same range, as far as I can tell - that is to say, just barely through the floor to the downstairs kitchen (but smooth), and choppy when in the downstairs bathroom with the door closed :P. For open-air range, I assume it's like my laptop, and that the connection at 100ft is going to be quite iffy, especially if the two ends of the connection are moving around.
I have not tested this with multiple devices (though I own a dozen bluetooth capable gadgets...)
This neat guy has a slowly flashing blue LED when plugged in. Worth noting for those who hate excessive LEDs.
Works fine with Win 7 x64. No problems with the software that came with it (not sure if it does anything that Win 7 does by default though.)

Really good bluetooth dongle . I must say i was impressed by the little device. I have a HP envy 15 laptop which has a inbuilt bluetooth option. I usually use my Motorola bluetooth stereo headphones with it while listening to music or watching movies. But had always hated that bluettoth connectivity would break as soon as I moved to another room. This device has better coverage and I enjoy using my headphone without any interruption. Another wonderful application was using it on my Hp mini 210 netbook. While am @ work i use my netbook and I usually tether it with my Blackberry. Now using this dongle I can tether over bluetooth. The best part is sometime I leave my Blackberry @ my desk and go to the nearby meeting room and still am connected. One of the many fine purchases I have made in amazon.

Cons Review
Okay But Not Great . This product works great with Windows and the range is amazing; it actually works at the maximum distance. There are a few slight issues with this product. I got this for my Mac computer because it says it works with the Mac operating system. I spent hours configuring settings and even contacted the company for help. The device still does not work. Unless you are a computer expert and know all about Bluetooth don't use this product with a Mac computer. On the other hand this device works great with Windows minus the fact that when you install printer drivers you can still only print in plain text and not rich text. If you don't mind printing over WiFi then forget about this product because this is not great for printers. The best use for this product is keyboards, mice, and Bluetooth phones.
mic does not work with PC . I bought this adapter to connect my new bluetooth headset to my computer to use as a pc headset. It connected without problems, but the quality of the mic was horrible, the person I was speaking with couldn't understand anything I was saying using skype and ventrilo. I tried to contact tech support to see if they could help but they just kept telling me to contact someone else, but those people never got back to me after several emails.
I got so fed up with it that I purchased a Jabra A320S Bluetooth Stereo USB Adaptor and it works perfect. Audio quality for the mic is superb on PC.
So if you are looking to use it to connect a headset to use as a mic, I would recommend something else. Other than that it seemed to function without problems.
