Smaller than it looks works perfectly . This is a POE (Power Over Ethernet) Injector. It adds 48 volt DC to an ethernet cable to power devices that support POE (usually VOIP Phones and some outdoor Wifi Access Points). It includes the white box pictured on amazon.com, a separate power supply, and possibly an ethernet cable (I can't remember).
For some reason, the picture made me think that it would be larger. The actual product is quite small.

Works well with ip camera . I bought this injector for an ip webcam with POE. I am experimenting with setting up cameras as part of home automation. Somewhere down the line the intent is to have multiple cameras and have a full POE switch. In the meantime this is much cheaper and works well for a single run.

Works . This is a nice little problem solver. It was annoying to discover that my office phone used power-over-ethernet (POE). I plugged a switch upstream and the phone lost power. Swell.Anyways, this unit solved my problems. The phone is some cisco voip phone that suddenly appeared recently where my older dual line to the switch phone used to be. It worked so I didn't mess with it. Until... I needed to plug more stuff into the net.The new arrangement is that this unit now sits between the new switch and the voip phone. Everything I needed came in the box. I plugged it in without reading the instructions. Everything worked fine.The only negative aspect is that I'm now thinking about running POE around my house and getting rid of all those wall warts sitting here and there.
Great device. . Worked immediately. Small size. No noise. Does not run hot. Use with IP camera. Located in living space, not in (hot)attic.
Brilliant! . For the money, this is easily the best 802.3af compliant POE injector out there. Worked like a charm out of the box. If you're buying a product that's 802.3af complaint, but the power supply costs $100, this is a much better solution.
Works as advertised . I was looking for a cheap POE injector for a night vision camera that would be mounted outside. Worked flawlessly. There was some confusion about what this actually does. This unit actually inserts power onto the CAT5e cable. There is another unit that looks identical that actually splits out the power from the CAT5 and makes a non POE device have power available. I have only had the unit for a few weeks but it has worked as advertised.
Cons Review
Dead on Arrival all 4 units . Purchased 4 units to test out. All 4 were dead out of the box. No power or indicators...I called their 24/7 support line and had to deal with a very choppy overseas call with a person who did not speak english very well. I was told i should purchase their adapter model poe10R. I told them thanks but 4 of there products aren't working why should I buy something else that I don't need. End result, I am very dissappointed and will be sending these back ASAP!
