Works well just don't turn to Belkin for setup/support . Despite the negative reviews surrounding this product, I went ahead and purchased it anyway. My wife has an HP DV6100 laptop running 32-bit Vista Basic. The system's integrated wireless failed due to a known motherboard defect. As her system was well out of warranty when the failure occurred, I was willing to take a chance on this product. There aren't very many ExpressCard wireless adapters on the market, and the DV6100 only has 2 USB ports. This was much less expensive than purchasing a whole new notebook.

The key to making this product work is to neither use the included installation CD nor install drivers provided by Belkin. Instead, use the reference drivers from this card's chipset maker, Ralink. Go to Ralink's web site and navigate to the support section. For Windows users, select that section, and download the software for part number RT2860. The package includes drivers for XP and Vista.

Before you insert the card into your notebook, install the drivers you downloaded from Ralink. During setup, it will give you an option to install only the drivers or the drivers plus Ralink connection software. Choose the former, and let setup complete. Now plug the card into your computer, and Windows should automatically detect it. Once the hardware installation wizard completes, you should be able to use Windows' built-in wireless configuration utility to connect to your network.

This procedure worked flawlessly on my wife's system, and she's back online, connected at full speed to our wireless-g network. As long as the hardware holds up, and you follow the above instructions for setting it up, I have no qualms about recommending this adapter to anyone.
Belkin F5D8073 N Wireless ExpressCard Adapter Reviews
No Problems Works Great!! . I bought this adapter because my laptop came with wireless g. Installed the card and on Vista OS had ZERO trouble getting connected. I use the laptop constantly in my sunroom which is on the back side of the house while the router is against the front wall of the house. Through the computer room (bedroom #2) a hallway, the living room and the sunroom I received a consistant three bars with connection rates of 80-137 Mps. Very recently I upgraded to Windows 7 and the network card never burped once, still works like a charm. Yesterday I installed a Hawking wirless N range extender to improve my connection in the sunroom. I now have 5 bars all the time and a solid 150Mps connection. Can't figure out how to improve the connection speed to 300Mps though. Router is using 40 mHz so it should connect at 300Mps but doesn't. Still 150Mps is pretty good and I never lose connection.

I'm much more pleased with this product than most.
Belkin F5D8073 N Wireless ExpressCard Adapter Opinions
Fantastic . After the wireless card in my Dell laptop started not working for no reason, I decided to buy this card.

It works fine in Linux, and apparently in Windows 7, too. It just said installing drivers and it shows up as 802.11n Wireless Card.

And yeah, I wouldn't trust the driver CD they sent. I doubt it would work. Get the drivers from Ralink personally if Windows doesn't install drivers automatically.
Great while it lasted . Worked great for almost three months , then abruptly died. Will contact belkin to arrange for replacement under warranty.Dissapointed on longevity of product.

Cons Review
Seems to go to sleep a lot... . This card was a quick install in my HP Media Center PC with a PCI-to-ExpressCard adapter. I wanted my PC to have built-in N wireless and thought it would be more flexible to have an ExpressCard adapter instead of just a wireless PCI card.

At first I really liked this card. When it was connected it had a fast connection and the signal strength was fine. After a while, it seemed to run hot, but I figured as long as it was still connecting to my Belkin router it didn't matter. About a month or so after I bought it I noticed I would lose my Internet or home network connection quite often. When I held the cursor over the wireless network icon in the task bar, it would say the speed was 24.0 Mbps or 12.0 Mbps or even 0.0 Mbps. Normally, I would be getting G speed of 54.0 Mbps since my old router did not have N speed (up to 300Mbps).

It began to seem as if the card was slowly shutting down even when I was active on the PC itself. I will say it rarely dropped to 0 while I was actively cruising the Internet, but I could never find any settings to ensure the card didn't go into "sleep" mode. Of course, this may have been a result of the heat generated, but I didn't think it was worth calling tech support to investigate a seventy-dollar card so I sold this card and plan to buy a USB wireless N adapter instead. Maybe this card would work better in a laptop's ExpressCard slot?
This product and Belkin support suck!!! Don't buy this product!!! . Installed this and tried to run it with my D-Link 615. Went on youtube to test it on a few videos, but then it kept having a delay spike every 5 seconds and and it runs slower than my Dell wireless G card. The taskbar says I am getting an excellent 300Mps signal, but the expresscard won't run it at that rate. I called customer support to try to solve the problem, but the CSR told me it is the rounter's fault and that it's broadcasting in wireless G instead of wireless N. When I asked him why my taskbar was showing I was getting an excellent 300Mps signal, he couldn't answer. I am currently shopping for another wireless N adapter for my laptop. If anyone knows a trick for making this Belkin product work, I am all ears.
It doesn't do what it says it does . The installation is a breeze. The set up disc is spot on.

But, once the device was installed and working, it only ran at 54Mbps, or 802.11(g)speed. No improvement over the internal card in my HP Laptop.

BTW, I have a USB N adapter from Linksys that works at 270Mbps, so the network is at N speeds. The Linksys adapter is not as easy on the eyes, as the Express card, so that's why I bought it.

I am waiting for an RMA as I write this.
Not for Vista . I've had this device for over a year and have been waiting for Belkin to issue a driver that will work with Vista. To date, even with the Belkin "Vista Beta" driver the best speed this card has been able to give is 54 Mbps, well short of my other older pre-N card that delivers 108 Mbps over my Wifi network.

Belkin support has been less than helpful even after a 10 - 15 min. wait on hold. I recommend that you go with Belkin's USB device, or a different manufacturer's device.
Not Very Good Range . This device does get better transfer rates than an 802.11G wireless device, but its range is not very good and low strength signals usually result in a completely failed connection. It's so bad that I am pretty much going back to my laptop's built-in 802.11G device unless I am close to my router and transferring large files.
Rather add in a few more dollar for a linksys. . I have a linksys at home wireless N adapter. I got his Belkin for my other laptop because it was cheaper than the linksys. Got window 7 on the laptop, it recognize the linksys right away with out any problem. With the Belkin, you have to install the driver for it (window won't auto install it for you). Card unable to stay in one place on pci express slot. Slot was able to hole linksys in place better than Belkin. Further more there is one annoying LED blue light, which on all the time.
