Rendr is an Internet Media Player application disc for your Blu-ray player. It plays TV shows and movies from the Internet commercial free. It also plays your videos, music and photos from your computers. Rendr requires a Blu-ray player with BD Live capability which virtually all players have. It also requires a home network and a Windows, Mac (Intel) or Linux PC.

Great little product! . If u want to play movies on your PC to your TV this is far more convenient & practical than burning discs.

I got their beta disc last week. Installed their free server on my computer and connected my player to the network. So far I am able to easily control everything from the blu ray remote just like for the blu ray player. Highly recommended!! Innovative little product.

BlueRay User . I ordered the Ray in Blu beta version a few weeks ago and played around with it. It REALLY works and was
easy to use! We can watch movies off my computer on the flat screen TV. It's great. I highly recommend it!

Cons Review

Vaporware . I signed up for the beta on March 13 and have still not received the software. It sounds like a really good idea, but I have yet to see it. I have not seen any information on the Ray in Blu web site to give any idea as to if or when this might ship.

I would give it 0 stars If I could. save your money. . I am a very experienced computer user and professional developer. I currently own several xboxes running XBMC. HTPC's, popcorn hour, appleTV, ps3, etc. I am not new to media players and streaming audio and video. That said, this product just does not work at all. I install PS3 media server on a PC which is needed by this and it immediately starts transcoding my videos which consumes all my PC's free HD space and then the whole OS crashes. The support for blu in ray is poor. They indicated they will fix PS3 media server to use a larger HD partition in the future but already missed their release date for that fix and have failed to answer any of my other questions about why its transcoding in the first place. I guess they deserve 1 star for returning my money. but the product is non functional at this point and the support is about the same. shame, was hoping for something cool.
