The AIR802 AP-G250 follows the IEEE 802.11 b/g standards with 54 Mbps and may be easily configured in router, bridge or client modes.
Fantastic Coverage
Common consumer or small business routers (any typical 802.11 b/g or draft-N product), provide 35 to 60 mW of radio frequency (RF) output power. AIR802 is now offering directly to the public its AP-G250 with up to 250 mW output power. As a result, the user experiences a super strong signal capable of providing superior coverage. With improved signal you will achieve better data throughput (speed) throughout your home or office.
Multi-Functional & Easy Configuration
While other manufacturers have elected to build multiple models to achieve different functionality, the AIR802 AP-G250 is very versatile and allows you to configure the device as a router, bridge or client device.
As a router, the AP-G250 might be used directly behind a cable or DSL modem. Alternatively, it might be used as a bridge between a home and detached garage. In client mode, one may use the site survey to view available wireless networks and with a powerful connection remotely connect to another network.
The AP-G250 also provides Universal Repeater mode, which allows one to connect to a remote network and re-broadcast the network. Or use our Wireless Distribution System (WDS) feature to connect multiple radios together via MAC addresses.
Full security encryption techniques, MAC filtering, and firewall features all are ready to keep your wireless network secure. Two Ethernet ports are available, one a combination WAN/LAN and a second LAN port.
Configuration is easily accomplished through a web browser.

Works very well now I have wi-fi throughout my entire house . I used this product to "borrow" my neighbors wifi signal. We got the signal in only the front room of our condo.... after installing the air802, it rebroadcast the wifi signal throughout the entire condo.... now i can use my labtop on the back lanai!!!!!!!!
This is only of the many functions of the unit... set up was alil trickey but with a 5min phonecall .... yes thats right a knowledgeable person named michael residing in the US gave me precise quick walkthrough in under 5 minutes. No waiting on the phone..... too good to be true ..... it pays to buy from a smaller company sometimes so it seems!!!
AIR802 Provides Answers for Wireless Networking . I live in a rural area of Eastern Washington and will eventually have FIOS available where I live, and in the meantime am not able to use Tower Internet like some of my neighbors, so was looking for a way to connect with open networks which are normally out of reach from our home and found this company. We now have a wireless network in our home using the 250 router in conjunction with a length of cable, an extenal Yagi antenna and a couple of other accessories (for our purposes we needed an antenna splitter as the router only has one connection for an antenna).
Later on when fiber optic cable makes internet available to our home, the 250 router will be great to have as it generates an excellent, flawless signal throughout our home.
Dealing with the company was an incredibly positive experience as my e-mails were promptly responded to with detailed, helpful information and the same salesperson was available each time I needed help with an order and later and more significantly, when I needed help setting up and configuring the equipment.
All the equipment is very well made and works flawlessly. I am so glad to have found this company and I recommend them very highly.
Powerful and highly configurable . I've only had it a few days but so far I am 100% satisfied.
Background: I've had a wireless network set up in my home for several years. I had 802.11b equipment because that was the only choice at the time. I used an SMC access point (AP) and Netgear PC Cards, both of which have worked flawlessly (excepting the occasional spat with Windows over who gets to control the PC Card, which is par for the course). I chose Air802 product because I wanted to upgrade to 802.11g as well as improve the signal strength in my home, which offers several 'challenges' to wireless signals such as a large footprint and lots of walls, some of which are made of stone with a high iron content.
Setup: A first glance at the documentation is a bit daunting, even for one such as myself who is technically savvy. And truth be told it may be a bit much for the average Joe to set up the first time. But it really is amazing what this little thing can do, if you're willing to plow through the docs to figure out how to do it. Air802 very wisely sets the device up as a standard-issue wireless router by default, so it is feasible that one could plug it in and use it without _too_ much fussing around. Also the documentation for basic setup is very thorough. But this really is not the ideal device for the plug-it-in-and-go crowd. The upside is that its feature set is incredibly rich, certainly sufficient for enterprise use -- including such things as full SNMP accessibility. You really get your money's worth in terms of configurability and capability.
Operation: The Air802 AP-G250 claims to have a higher power output than other residential AP's. This is definitely true in my case. When compared to my SMC2655W, signal strength has at least doubled, including the far reaches of my house, places where I used to get very low signal or none at all. In addition, I can now run the microwave in the kitchen without interrupting network connectivity! This is a pretty severe test in my situation becuase the microwave sits directly in between the access point and the laptop in the kitchen. I'm very impressed with the power of this unit, to say the least. The antenna is external and removeable, so I may add a higher gain antenna just for the pure geek joy of it.
clif notes: A powerful little unit with an amazing feature set, but you may want to ply your favorite geek with a few of their favorite beverage to help you set it up.
PLUS:
1. It is solidly made
2. It is ridiculously configurable
3. It has fabulous range
4. Range can be extended via a plethora of antenna options
We live in a big, old, rambling house. Lots of floors, lots of walls. Our old SMC WAP worked okay, but the signal got weak at the edges of the house, and it was essentially nonexistent out in the yard. Plus we couldn't surf in the kitchen when the microwave oven was running. This little Air802 gem solves both of those problems. Plus I can run around anywhere I like, inside, or outside, and still have signal. I love it!
MINUS:
1. Configuration
I knocked it a bit for setup because the instructions would probably flummox Joe Average Household Guy. Anyone with a smidgen of knowledge about networking should be fine. It defaults to being a WAP, so it's useable out of the box even by Average Joe, but Joe might choke while trying to secure the network.
Pros: Good output power. Good sensitivity in receive. Lots of features that other routers do not have. Very configurable. Fast tech support through email.
Cons: The user manual is long but the details were not sufficient for me to get it up and going. Lots of configurable settings with insufficient information on their function. The set-up "wizard" didn't help at all.
UPDATE: both units are connected with 9dB directional antennas. both boxes show a signal strength of -52dBm. Both boxes have been up and running for about a month now with no problems.
Cons Review
reconnect to it without success. Also tried the procedure to load recovery firmware as it looked like a
software problem during my trouble shooting, but that did not work - as should be obvious since I cannot connect. So, my final conclusion is that the router failed. Reliability is my number one priority with routers and therefor
I can only give it one star.
