Inexpensive and it works great!! . Took out a 10/100 out of a five year old Dell Inspirion 4700 and replaced with this router. A very noticeable difference right away. Simple to install and works great!!

works well more stable than the card i was using before . installed and it was working right after a reboot on win 7 64bit. cheapest gigabit, came with low profile plate too, so it fit in my small pc.

Finally Gigabit on my PC . After upgrading my router to Dual Wireless N (Netgear WNDR3700), I decided to upgrade my computer's NIC to make use of the Gigabit ports on my router. This NIC had good reviews here and I downloaded the latest drivers from the manufacturer's site and after the driver installation, installed this NIC into my computer and now I have Gigabit speeds. Huge file transfers are a breeze now. Definitely recommend this product for people looking to upgrade their NIC.

Excellent Product . Lost my previous network card to a lightning strike. Installed this card into my Kids' computer, takes a few seconds. Started up the computer disabled my previous card and the new one was already there and working. My kids' computer is a emachine w2925 with XP 256k ram. Its not a great computer but this card made its internet functionality 50X faster. It did come with a disk for the driver, but it was not needed on my system. I will buy this product anytime I need a hard line Network Card for any of my 5 computers. Excellent Product.

StarTech ethernet network card . After 3 hours of troubleshooting, I finally got this nic going. Not that it was the cards fault, and the drivers autoloaded straight from the windows 7. But the only way the net would connect was in the Safe Mode. So I knew it worked but not in the Win 7 normal mode. After trying everything I knew in the book on this card I was getting frustrated, but then i remembered an old trick we use to try as a last resource configuring many other windows operating systems. I moved the nic card to another PCI slot and it reloaded the drivers automatically and started working perfectly. Thank goodness my motherboard has 5 PCI slots because it seems one of them is bad!After all the above I clocked in on battlefield 3 for about an hour and this card runs very good indeed. Of course this is the first day, so if anything else happens other than good service I will report on a follow-up review.Looks good for now, considering the cheap price it is a good Ethernet Network Adapter. How good time will tell.
Good . Worked exactly as I needed it to, made repairing a computer so much more easier than transferring files without internet.
Problem solving card. . Many times when I install current wifi cards from various maufactures in desktop computers the onboard Cat5/ethernet port will interfere or disable after install and restart. Support for motherboard can sometimes be difficult to find. Installing this card (provided there is an available PCI slot) allows bypassing the motherboard port and allows either wifi or cabled connection with ease to network or internet at 10/100/1000 speeds. Simple install and Win XP/Vista/7 instant driver upgrade makes this port available imediately for use with no conflict. Excellent and easy upgrade for this price.
Good Upgrade for an older PC . Bought this Gig-E card about a month ago for a WinXP computer (Intel D945GTP with Pentium 4), which was cleaned up for service as a network storage device. Data transfers with this card met my expectations for speed. However, at first it wouldn't let the computer go into standby. I tried the on-line forums, drivers, and every possible setting in Windows, but could not get the computer to go to sleep. When I pulled the card and went back to the motherboard's 100 Mbps port, everything returned to normal - it went to sleep and woke up on network requests. [Update 7/16/2011] The Tech Team at Startech suggested that I change the PCI port, which I did and the Gig-E card now operates correctly.
Works Great . My computer's onboard ethernet card stopped working. I ordered this PCI Ethernet replacement - popped it in and was ready to go! I love it! and you cant beat the price!
Happy with this purchase . I just finished upgrading my home network to gigabit (where possible). I have one older PC running XP, fast Ethernet (100mpbps), and I purchased this card for that PC. Very good price, and the card installed easily.
I moved the Ethernet cable to the new NIC, and XP didn't find the driver locally, thus it couldn't go to the internet for them either. Rebooted with the Ethernet cable in the old NIC, XP automatically found the drivers and installed the card. I rebooted and moved the cable to the new NIC. Works just great, backups to my local NAS are so much faster.
Maybe using the included CD for drivers would have worked, too.
