This easy to install and configure PCI Express card from Cables Unlimited adds a parallel port to any newer PC, with an extra PCI Express slot. This simple and reliable card is compatible with most parallel peripherals and provides the most convenient way of connecting legacy parallel devices to newer PCs.

Works with Mac Pro and Windows XP . I needed to print to a legacy printer from Windows XP (via Bootcamp) on a 2008 Mac Pro and the card works as advertised. The only pain was having to go to the chipset (not the card) manufacturer's website to get drivers for it. I also had to make an account on their website just to download the drivers. A one-time pain, but hey the card works.

Cables Unlimited 1 -Port Parallel PCI Express Card (IOC1700) Reviews
It's doing the job but it was a pain to set up . I bought this so that I could run my old Laserjet 5p from my new PC. It's working fine now, but it was a pain to set up. I couldn't find a driver that would work with Windows 7 - either on the disk that came with the card or on the manufacturer's website. Also, the card wouldn't fit in the computer which has a small case rather than the standard size. (I have since found that other cards are shipped with both bracket types.) I had to get assistance from an I.T. guy to find a driver that would work (I don't know what he did - but it took quite a bit of searching) and then we had to take a drill, file and drimmel to another bracket to make an opening in it large enough to accommodate the parallel port. All's well that ends well, but I would search further next time to find the right card rather than settling for this one.

Cables Unlimited 1 -Port Parallel PCI Express Card (IOC1700) Opinions
Low profile? . Low profile internally only --somehow I expected a half height card that would fit in a Dell Vostro 200 Slim Tower --instead I got a card that is, yes low profile internally, but fits in a standard adapter card slot externally. So I put it it a Shuttle.
No drivers included, had to download from internet, but then seems to work perfectly. Now I have to find an adapter that fits into my Slim Tower.....

Back to Old School . If you have a need for a parallel port on a newer PC for an older device (printer, etc.), this is a stable and reliable way to accomplish that objective. A few anxious moments during set-up, but it ended well. The sequence of connecting and starting components apparently matters (see the manufacturer's web site).
Fast service - card works great! Drivers a pain... . Received this card within a week of ordering it (shipping via standard mail). Worked great - only drawback was that the drivers were on a mini-cd which mosk desktops can't use because the drives don't have hubs. Had to use a laptop to transfer drivers -- and then Vista drivers were not included -- had to search the internet for the right drivers which the mfg could have avoided by including in box.
Cons Review
Did not work with Dell XPS 420 and Vista 32 Home Premium . http://www.moschip.com/html/download_drivers.html
Cables Unlimited was very helpful finding the above driver page for the MCS9805 chip set, but the card would not work with the Dell XPS 420 running Vista 32 bit Home Premium.
Windows would freeze and not accept the new driver.
