Product Overview: Designed for people on-the-go, this travel friendly device lets you create a secure wireless network whenever a wired or wireless Broadband connection is available, and it also provides a convenient QuickCharge station that provides the fasted possible recharging of portable electronic devices like: cell phones, smart phones, tablet/pad computers, e-readers, MP3 players, digital cameras, and portable gaming systems. Convenient & Easy-to-Use High Speed Wireless Routing: This high-speed wireless router allows Internet ready devices a convenient way to connect to and share a wired Broadband connection. This is especially convenient for smartphones, tablet PC’s, and e-reader users since most of these products lack a traditional RJ-45 Ethernet port needed to plug in a network cable. Utilizing patent pending Intelli+IP technology, this device easily creates a reliable and secure wireless network from a wired Broadband connection. Once established, users can connect multiple devices to a personal Wi-Fi Hotspot, which is useful for tradeshows, hotel rooms, or anywhere multiple users need to share an Internet connection. Wireless ISP Mode: Using this mode will allow the ZuniConnect Travel to use an existing wireless network signal as the WAN (Internet) connection instead of relying on a wired one. This mode is great for providing access to users in locations where no wired Broadband connection is available, but a wireless one is. Smart USB Charging Station with QuickCharge Technology: Our patent pending process, incorporating smart power charging technology, permits the simultaneous charging of multiple devices such as a smart phone, tablet computer, or e-reader from one convenient location. Travelers won’t have to use the plug in the bathroom to charge their personal electronics, nor do they have to carry all the heavy/bulky wall charger transformers with them. The QuickCharge port provides additional power and will provide faster charging.

Excellent router for travelers . I purchased direct from the manufacturer as it was out of stock at Amazon.

Some may ask why there is a need for a router when traveling. I do a lot of international travel and carry a laptop, iPad, Kindle and Windows Mobile 7 phone. All need internet access. A personal router gives you this.

Some hotels may have wireless but they will charge you for each connected device. Ouch. A personal router avoids this.
The router can be used with a wired or wireless connection.

This router features two RJ-45 ports. So you can have the hotel internet into the router and can then connect your laptop with the other port. This allows you to have your laptop with a wired connection and all your other gear wireless.
The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. Make sure you change the routers password and set up wireless passwords (easy to do from the included control panel).

The unit also includes (2) USB charging ports and it evens charges my iPad!

Also in the package is a 7 foot RJ-45 cable.

On my unit, the lettering for the USB charge ports (Normal / Turbo) is hard to read. The labeling on the units side are less visible then the units top. The top labels are bright white and very legible.

My only complaint is the power adapter (2.5 x 1.75 x 1 inches). I wish it were a little smaller and had foldable prongs. You can see a picture of it in the Amazon photos where they show the carry case. I contacted support and they responded the right away with a great explanation about the power needs for both the router and the (2) USB charging ports. They are looking into a smaller lighter adapter.

PCMAG.com has a great review of the router at [...]

If you travel and carry gadgets that use the internet, this is a must have device. I have tried other routers and this is without question the best!
ZuniConnect Travel IV (ZTRP150) Reviews
ZuniConnect Travel $ router . I own an I Pad and an I Phone and find that when I travel I frequently find that Hotels,Condos, etc advertise that they have high speed internet. Upon arrival they have the physical connections to the internet, but no WiFi which I need to connect for mail and the internet. They also sometimes
charge for each device connected. When in Europe you are charged by the byte so it is very expensive to use a phone connection.

I did a fair amount of research and decided to try the ZuniConnect 4 as it had many advantages and came in a small and light carry case Read the write up on Amazon.

Let me state clearly that I am not a technical computer type. I like what they do but don't care why or how.

Upon receiving the product I found myself a bit unsure and confused upon trying to set the ZuniConnect up. I called Zuni Tech Service who were most helpful and they walked me through the set up. Now all I have to do is plug the ZuniConnect into the Hotel/Condo connection,
plug it into the electric and I am good to go.

The product came with everything you need and works great. So excellent product and service. What more do you need?
ZuniConnect Travel IV (ZTRP150) Opinions
Great device...and even better Customer Support . Unit works great. Originally purchase for some traveling where I knew in advance no wi-fi existed, only wired connection in the room. Unit worked flawlessly with iPad, laptop, and Android phone. So now my traveling is over..now what should I do with it.

Decided I wanted to do Netflix at home, but didn't feel like spending a lot on something to connect with t.v. Originally thought about getting a Logitech Revue on sale for $99. Then I saw some Blue-Ray 3D players on clearance for $50. So...picked one up, used the ZuniConnect to receive to the player. Works PERFECT! I feel I got the best of everything I needed...and found another use for my Zuni.

Now...about the Customer Service. I had initial problems connecting Blu-Ray via Zuni to the internet. Called Zuni support, and the service rep said she would have to have someone call me back with my particular issue. After 20 minutes waiting, I had to run out. Knowing they closed at 5:00 PST, I called at 4:30 to tell them I was on my way home and would someone be there. I told Brian, the tech support person who answered, briefly my situation, and he said..."Is this Steven?..." I was floored that he knew who I was. He said he would be at the office after hours, and just call him on his cell phone when I got home. I've NEVER heard of a tech rep giving out his cell phone. Long story short...he spent over an hour with me trying to sort it all out. We determined the problem was with my home primary router (not the Zuni), but instead of washing his hands of the situation like most would do...he continued to patiently work through the problems and got me all fixed up. I can't say enough about that kind of Service. I asked if there was someone I could write to document his excellent service, and he said "just write us up on Amazon", so here I am!

GREAT DEVICE...AND GREAT SERVICE! THANKS BRIAN!

Fantastic little box . I plugged this beauty into the hotel broadband and within seconds my ipad saw it, signed on and I was off and running. It is exactly what I needed and it works beautifully. What more could I ask?

Excellent product for the road warrior . This product is excellent for sharing a wired or wireless connection in a hotel room or anywhere that you have to pay a per device access charge. It makes it very easy and cost effective to connect your laptop/table, smartphone and eReader to a single internet connection. There are probably many other uses for the product but this is primarily what I use it for.

I did not use the wizards when setting the product up but I have configured many wireless routers in the past and found this device is very intuitive and easy to setup; even doing it manually. One thing to note that while in WISP mode the unit is forced to use the same channel as the wireless internet connection you are connecting to. I thought this was a little strange as you would think it would be better to have the "output" WiFi connection on a different channel than the "source" connection. However, I did not find that this had any significant impact on the performance of the device.

I find that this product enables me to get a better internet connection when confronted with a weak WiFi signal (typically found in most hotel rooms). After placing the unit is WISP mode I move the unit around the hotel room to find the strongest signal (near the hotel hallway or by the window) and the leave it there. In WISP mode the only connection you need is an electrical outlet (to provide the unit with power). The onboard usb charge ports also are a nice touch that provides me the ability to charge my cell phone and eReader without carrying additional USB power adapters. I literally take this device wherever I travel and use it about 80% of the time.

The unit itself is about the size of a deck of cards and includes an ethernet cable, power adapter and a carry case that is about the size of a thin paperback book. I think the ethernet cable is only required to select the wireless network when setting up WISP mode or if you need a wireless to wired ethernet connection. It is a little bulkier (Cat5e) than I think it needs to be and I have replaced it with a thinner (Cat5) cable I owned from my last wireless travel router. This makes the carry case a little thinner and it probably a quarter-ounce lighter.

I contacted product support regarding specifications on the power plug and received an excellent response within about 12 hours of submitting my question online.

All said, this is a great product with great support.

Cons Review
Could Not Negotiate Sign On Pages . I had high hopes for this but was disappointed and returned it. First, I am not sure it works at all as I thought it was supposed to in the WISP mode - which is the useful mode for connecting to a wireless network that is not secure and broadcasting it as an internal wireless secure network. It was difficult to test, since it forces a "-WISP" suffix to the SSID, meaning that I had to re-program wireless printers and computers to recreate an entirely new wireless network rather than just copy my current SSID and replace the current router with this one. It indicates that the SSID can be a large number of characters, but I am not sure that is true, and limited it to 3 additional characters after more than 8 did not seem to work - but since I never got it to work consistently I do not know if that was really an issue. It also seems like the wireless network it sets up is forced to transmit on Channel 11 - which is also the most common channel for the initial wireless network it is receiving and there may be a lot of channel interference that caused the problems - again I am not sure. I never got it to consistently negotiate the "sign on page" that the unsecured networks redirect you to in order to access the internet when you open your browser so it never would consistently get to the internet. Even when I signed in directly to the insecure network first and made the sign on page a favorite, and went back using the travel router, it did not work in wireless to wireless mode. There also seemed to be difficulties in having the router assign the IP addresses, and the network access would hang and not complete the process. The Windows diagnostic which shut off the wireless card and turned it on again to force a new IP address would also hang again and not fix the problem. I think I got a second computer on the network wirelessly once - but I am not sure and it might have pulled up a cached page, too. I was unable to print from one computer to a shared printer as a wired USB connection to another computer even when I though I might have had the network set up.

I am not sure, but it may work better in wireless to wired mode or wired to wireless mode - but it was described as wireless to wireless.... I never tried the charging feature at all.
