Outstanding performance no trouble used 2 years and counting . I've used my PNY 2-port eSATA Cardbus adapter for two years so far, with no issues at all. I currently use it in a Lenovo T500 64-bit laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate, successfully connecting it to a variety of hard drives in external enclosures. The hard drives vary in size (2 TB, 320 GB, 250 GB, 100 GB), made by a variety of manufacturers (Toshiba, Hitachi, Western Digital, Seagate), mounted in a variety of external devices (mostly Thermaltake external enclosures, a dual StarTech dock).
I first got it two years ago and used it in an older Sony VAIO laptop, 32 bit, running Windows XP. No issues there, either. I still use the older Sony, and have no difficulty swapping the PNY adapter from the 64 bit Lenovo to the 32 bit Sony and back again.
I take this adapter for granted because it just always works, and its really fast. I've used it to move large amounts of data from one eSATA drive to another, or from my internal hard drive to an external drive. I've had no trouble doing hot-swaps, though that may be because I always shut the hard drive enclosure down before unplugging it. I just don't shut down the laptop to change external hard drive connections.
Bottom line, I strongly recommend the PNY adapter to anyone who needs fast, dependable access to external hard drives.
