lost my gold adapter! so i had to get a new one . I bought a pair of Xone XD-53 headphones and i stupidly misplaced the gold locking adapter for that so i thought it was the end of the good sound quality on my set of headphones. luckily after a little research i found shure sells the adapter alone and for only a couple bucks it was at my door. a real life saver because my 1/8inch jack was getting bent and scratched up. now this adapter is screwed on for life and if i want to use the 1/8th jack im going to connect this adapter to a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter and use that because i cant risk messing up my 200+ dollar headphones!

Seemingly Hard to Find Item . I purchased this after seeking a replacement adapter for my Ultrasone headphones. I initially attempted to track down that through them or their dealers. This is exactly the same piece that Ultrasone (and presumably a few others) uses. Built well and works. Not much to it.

Cons Review
Doesn't fit any other pair of regular headphones! . I was on amazon one day, looking for some 1/4" adapters for my headphones. Then on a certain hour that very day, I came across this Shure adapter after looking at a bunch of crap no brand ones. Much to my joy, other reviewers stated that this adapter fit their other branded headphones! Unfortunately for me, when the package came (at 8:30 P.M. through UPS), right as i plugged my headphones in, something wasn't right. I checked for sound on my amp and nothing I seemingly did would let sound come through... The fit was just plain loose and there was nothing I could do about it. Anyhow, here's advice to some potential buyers, "If you don't own the Shure SRH 240/440/840, don't buy this product, it won't fit/work."
