Linux compatable. Only if you are an uber 'nix wizard. . Pros: Works great with windows7, an instructional video is included on the disk along with drivers for the three major OS's. The included RealTek software is awesome and works great, so many configurable options! Included is a great antenna, a suction-cup mount and a clip mount. (You can also use screws/nails to mount it to a wall.)
Cons: Even with the instructional video I would not send this to anyone born before 1965, it's not an intuitive or plug-and-play process. On Linux (Ubuntu, the most user friendly yet easily customizable GUI) I cannot figure out exactly how to install any of the drivers to get it working at all. When reading the on-cd README files or instructions one gets the feeling that whomever was typing this all out did not speak English very well.
Other thoughts: Overall pretty good product --as long as you're using Windows and are somewhat good with computers.

Works Great with Mac OS 10.4.11 . I received this product 3 days before it was scheduled to arrive, Awesome!
This was going to replace the wi-fi adapter for my Macintosh Desktop, I was only getting 70-80% with my old adapter so I was hoping this will work better, I've installed the driver and software as instructed but it did not work, so I searched for a driver update from website, there are 2 driver update for 10.4.11 and 10.5. My Macintosh is still running on 10.4.11 so I downloaded the 10.4.11 driver update, after installation, I've re-booted the computer but had to zap the P-RAM to get it working (holding down Cmmd+Opt+P+R at the start up and let it "Ding" for 3 times)
It's working great! my daily average is 93-100%
I recommend this product to my fellow Macintosh users using OS 10.5 or older!

Using with Backtrack-4 . This has worked well with linux and backtrack. This tool allows for packet injection as well as monitor mode. Also, the extra 1W of power with the extended antenna is a great option too.
Although I can always get it to work, the device will sometimes fail over time and need to be restarted. Further, some driver issues occur and processes need to be killed and restarted to get the system operational again.
Overall, good product and very easy to use.

Range on Windows . I bought this because I don't have internet access at work and occasionally need to get connected to download email. There is a hotspot about 900 yards line of site in a food court. Sitting in the food court using my built in wi-fi gets me about a 75% sig strength. With this item, I could get 100%. Unfortunately it drops off before I get 100' outside of the building. Consequently I could not see the signal from my office at all. However, I did see several secured (private) networks located in a neighborhood about a half mile away. I could not see those networks with the internal wi-fi. I also saw several additional networks from my house. So I would say this would be fine for improving a weak signal.
Cons Review
Poor fit . The 9 dbi anntena does not fit. It is a crapy clip on that slips off every few seconds. You will have to purchase a base to use the screw on it. I would have avoided this if I would have known that.
