It works - it's cheap . One of the best features of digital video is that the picture is either perfect - or the screen is blank. This little splitter does exactly what it claims and it is cheap. Yes, you can buy a more expensive unit, but why? A digital video switch is a switch, and the picture is perfect or the switch simply doesn't work.
Worthy of mention is that this unit senses what input is turned on and auto-selects the correct input automatically. e.g., I am watching HD satellite and then I turn on my BlueRay player. The unit switches to the BlueRay input. I turn off the BlueRay, the unit switches back to satellite HD. But not to worry, you can easily choose any of the three inputs by just pushing the selector button. I think Spock would call that "Manual Override"!
Also, the digital signal routes to both outputs simultaneously, watch through either output - or BOTH. I just wanted to mention that because I seem to remember someone reviewing this unit stating, incorrectly, that the output was either one or the other but not both.
It has a metal housing, a "wall wart" for power, and you will need a few HDMI cables to get your rigs all hooked up. Once again, please keep in mind that HDMI cables are not included.
A WORD ABOUT HDMI CABLES - It might be helpful to mention that, just like this HDMI switch, HDMI cables either work or they don't! There is not one single advantage in using a super expensive monstrosity cable over a cheap HDMI cable. Don't let the big box "expert geeks" lie to you about this point. I have no overpriced products to sell to you, I have no reason to lie!

Excellent choice . I didn't get the same pictured splitter. But, it works really well, easy to use, simple to switch among inputs, and good quality.

HDMI Splitter - A Must . Worked better than I expected. With amplification you expect a decrease in quality of signal but not the case. I have connected three inputs (DVD, Directv, Netflix via Rocu) to two outputs (Dell Projector, Flat screen). Everything works great. The inputs switch easily with the remote. I am using 6' HDMI cables for my inputs. I use a 10' HDMI for my flat and a 25' for my projector. Its cool how the device will output to both at the same time. I expected a switch over for output as well, but not so. Nice to be able to output to two sources at the same time. So far, great product.
