Good Card Bad CD Driver . Good card. It does what is supposed to do. Only problem with it is that there is no documentation for it and the Mini CD that comes with it does not work in most CD/DVD drives. The best thing is to insert the card first and then load the driver. The only driver you need is the "NEC USB 3.0 Host Controller", which you can download from Driveridentifier dot com. If you do a search for the NEC Host Controller you will find they have a list there; simply select from the list the one that is best suited for your machine.

AKE 5Gbps BC618T 54mm 2 Port USB 3.0 Laptop Express Card support win7 Reviews
It works well with a Dell Latitude E6410 and it's possible to insert it and remove it . I purchased this card with some degree of concern after having read reviews indicating that it fit too tightly and that removing it might be an issue. In the case of my Dell Latitude E6410, I was able to insert it (yes, it's tight) and I was able to remove it without problem. I plan to leave it inserted permanently, but I did not want it to be stuck in there anyway.
Other than that, I connected my new Western Digital Passport 1.0 TB USB 3.0 hard drive to it and it works well. I can tell that file transfers are indeed much faster than with my previous WD 320 GB USB 2.0 Passport drive, but I have not done any quantitative measurements.

AKE 5Gbps BC618T 54mm 2 Port USB 3.0 Laptop Express Card support win7 Opinions
Flush with success . Yes, the title is a play on words. I was determined that I would not buy another PC Card/ExpressCard that protrudes precariously out the side of my laptop. This adapter satisfied my criteria. It doesn't seem to provide anywhere near the maximum data rate promised by the USB 3.0 spec, but I'm having a hard time identifying the culprit; the ExpressCard slot itself could be the limiting factor. It's not likely the SSD that I'm attaching to it.

couldn't use . Not sure how this item works...I was unable to use due to misreading the discription. It only works in an EXPRESS CARD slot. I only have PC CARD slot type II. They are not the same.
What's better the bc618t or bc398 card? . There are 2 ( or more) versions of this 54mm dual port Ake card. 1 is the bc398 version and the other is the bc618t version. Does one use a more efficient chip that uses less power?
Cons Review
Ehh. So-so . Its works. That's about it though. Need pliers to get it out of the slot and removing a connected cable partially dislodged the card meaning that you have to reinsert it and have the system re-recognize it. Do you think that they maybe could have placed a little nib on the end so it could be grabbed to make extracting the card easier. Nah, that would have been too thoughtful.
