The WRP 400 is a slice of heaven in router form. . I read the previous review. I'm the second. I've owned many Linksys routers and wireless access points, as well as hubs. This is my favorite so far. It doesn't get released in stores until late summer/early fall 2009. The gentlemen before me wrote about how it's not compatible with Vonage. That's true. BECAUSE it's a VOIP router in itself. I know that it's used by a company called Elevate Comm that launches in April (a month from now). That's how I got it. Great router, great price, easy to use and setup, as well as great range. I use it it my house, which is 12000 square feet, and I get signal everywhere. Which is better than I can say about my netgear routers.

Internet router . Had this for a month now and it's working great! The only thing that it doesn't do is connect with Vonage service (I wanted to replace my 2 units and combine into 1 since they both died around the same time; a power spike may have done them in). Setup was incredibly easy since I learned how to use the software interface in the previous linksys router. I hope this one lasts a long time.

Doesn't work with Vonage system. . This is a good wireless router with 2 phone ports, but unfortunately it is not compatible with the Vonage telephone system so I had to return it and get the D-Link VWR that is made specifically for Vonage. I don't think it is as good a product as the Linksys, but the phone ports wouldn't work. The ethernet and wireless worked flawlessly for the few days that I was trying to figure out some way to make it work with Vonage.

Perfect All-In-One Device . What I appreciate most is the simplicity that this device creates! It literally turns the 'rats nest' of devices (Ethernet switch, router, Wi-Fi access-point, and VoIP ATA) into one thing needing only ONE electrical outlet! How great is that! It has been a perfect choice and a rock-solid performer! To the reviewers who blame this device for not being compatible with Vonage, that's incorrect. It's actually FULLY compatible with Vonage's technology, but Vonage made a BUSINESS DECISION to disallow it (as well as most other devices), so they don't have to test and support 'every ATA on earth'. Vonage (like many providers) decided to ONLY allow a small number of chosen devices to reduce their support costs. In the case of this device it's a shame because the WRP-400 is really a great performer! Vonage would do well to add it to their list. YOUR VoIP PROVIDER may have restrictions on what device you can use, but this device is a universal UNLOCKED, provider-agnostic VoIP Analog Terminal Adapter (ATA). Its routing functions are fairly sophisticated: It has features like DHCP reservations, remote administration ACL (Access Control List), and traffic shaping (so that VoIP actually WORKS). These important features often missing from routers at this price point. If you like the idea of an all-in-one device but choose against it because it's not supported by your Internet Telephony Service Provider provider, keep in mind that there are lots of providers besides Vonage!I was one of the first people to buy this device. I bought it from e4Strategies (dot com). There have been some firmware updates, so if you're an early adopter like me, you may want to flash the firmware. If you do, be sure to follow the directions very carefully. I've flashed many devices in my day, so naturally I didn't think I needed to read the directions. It nearly resulted in me 'bricking' the device.
Robust operation challenging setup . I'm not an IT person so setup left me sweating a bit. I followed the instructions from the VOIP service provider which left most parameters as default anyway, rebooted the box and it worked.
I now have an all in one communication device, phone, WIFI, and 4 ethernet ports for computer, printers, etc. Probably the best small office device, period.. Its operation has been robust also, no reboots necessary to date.
My next step will be to play with some of the parameters to better work with my service provider, not that it is bad, just that in the remote location I am using it I do experience some momentary silence on occasion. Otherwise I love this thing.

Guess I should've read the reviews first . I bought this as a replacement for my Linksys RTP300 (Vonage supplied) router when it stopped working after a power outage. Once the new router arrived in the mail, setup was easy, but then I found out the phone ports weren't working. I realized I'd have to transfer my WAN MAC address to my Vonage account first but was getting an error message when trying to transfer it online. I called Vonage tech support who got the same error message. After they checked the router's model number, they told me they do not support this specific model. He even went so far as to ask if it said "Vonage" on the router - I told him it did not but neither did my RTP300. I'm not sure why the RTP300 is supported but this one is not - even though it is a direct upgrade from the RTP300.
Vonage Tech Support was able to get me a D-Link VXR shipped out and it didn't end up costing me anything since I recieved a credit for turning in my old RTP300. I guess that would've been the way to go in the first place.
Shame on Vonage for not supporting this router, though. There's no real reason it shouldn't be supported. They should definitely make a supported devices list more easily available to their customers in the first place.
All-in-all, I guess I should've read the reviews on Amazon first before purchasing. If I had, I would've saved myself the hassle and the headache from all this.

Cons Review
Doesn't work with Vonage . I can't comment on how the product works; I had bought it to use with my Vonage service... only to find that Vonage doesn't work with this router. I found it odd that Linksys customer support (who spent a significant amount of time trying to help me with the problem) was not aware of this. So, I hope this will help prevent others from making the same mistake and having to return the router, as I did.
Terrible. . Terrible, it died in just 6 months as compared to a D-Link Wireless router I bought close to 6 years ago and still works. I will never buy Linksys again.
