Great basic wireless router . It's hard to get too picky about a router that costs around $30. It does a great job of taking your internet signal and broadcasting it to your house. It doesn't have the best range I've ever seen, it may not have advanced features like wireless printing, but it gets the internet to you anywhere in your house, and it has the basic features of a decent router like encryption and a nice web interface for setup. If you are looking for more, then go ahead and spend $100 and get a more full featured router, but I would say that for 95% of consumers, this router is perfectly fine. Wireless data transfer speeds for me were great, just as fast as my $180 Apple Airport Extreme. Don't listen to the haters, they are like the guys who buy a Kia and complain about poor 0-60 times. You get what you pay for but sometimes you don't need to buy the best of something to get good results. I have already recommended this affordable yet good quality router to several friends, and they've all been happy with it.

Dead Easy to Setup and it Works Fine . I set up this router in about five minutes. Plugged it in, set it up with the included CD on my desktop, then installed the software on my laptop with the CD and I was good to go. Range is good, no issues in my house, the laptop works out in the backyard, no problem. This router is by far the easiest to set up that I've ever seen. I've been using it almost a month now and have experienced no problems. Highly recommended.

Belkin Recertified Surf N300 Wireless N Router (F7D6301rw) Opinions
Usable but: poor wired interface; flimsy feel; clunky utilities and terrible support site... . ...not to mention my fundamental suspicion about of products labeled as "reconditioned (on the box) or "recertified" (on the Amazon listing)...especially when the manufacturer provides no information on what this means to the consumer.I've been using wireless networking products for nine years, and remember well the pain that first generation 802.11 products inflicted on users. Happily, those days are gone. Even with the reservations I have about this product, it delivered basic wired and wireless connectivity out of the box within a minute of beginning the setup...a far cry from what the first 802.11 offered in 2002.However, nagging deficiencies in the overall user experience of this router make it less than ideal for those with expansive connectivity needs (and especially if you use multiple wired ports on a daily basis). So while I'm not ready to turn over my regular heavy lifting networking chores to this router, I will retain it as a spare should my long running Netgear WGT624 router bite the dust. Pros:
-relatively compact footprint
-quickly went from the box to basic wired and wireless connectivity
-allows initial configuration to be performed wirelessly (some routers require a wired connection for initial setup).Cons:
-No visible indicator lights for the 4 wired Ethernet ports. All of my ports are currently occupied (with a desktop PC, a weather station, the bundled telephone adapter from my cable provider and a NAS connection). Being able to have rapid insight into the connection status activity of these connections is essential. Such feedback is absent from this router. You'll be leaning around the back to visually inspect which ports are connected, and still have no indicators of activity on those ports.-The included setup and control utilities are --to say the least-- clunky and non-intuitive. I was prompted for passwords even after disabling them, and it retained the factory SSID even after I applied changes. Many basic functions (such as an attached devices list) were not readily available. I'm experienced at configuring routers, and found the menu and interface inferior to what I've experienced with other manufacturers. -Belkin's support area is unhelpful and intrusive. From the homepage, only product searches are available, and the link to its support/customer service service area is inexplicably hidden at the bottom of the page. Once in the support area, you have to decide between "search for answers" and "ask a question". My question about this: What the heck ? BTW, the "search for answers" allows searches of knowledge base type content. If you choose the "ask a question" option, you'll have to drill down many layers of topical dropdown options AND provide an email address. Unacceptable. I never found the definitive answer to what either "reconditioned" or "recertified" meant relative to this product.-The router's configuration utility indicated its firmware was current, while the support web site indicated a newer version was available. Which should a user believe? -With only a single power/activity light, this has an overly spare appearance. It's also very light...it just doesn't feel substantial in any way.Bottom lines:
--Is this a terrible router? No.--Is this an acceptable router if you only need a single wired connection. Maybe.--Is this a router to choose if you will be regularly connecting multiple wired devices to it ? No...unless you are satisfied with no visual feedback on the connection status of those devices. This complaint is not about fascination with blinkenlights; this is about providing fundamental information to the user in meaningful way. For this price, I'm keeping it around in case my current router (free of the above shortcomings) stops working. But if your wired connection needs are as important as your wireless ones, you won't like the lack of feedback on the status of your wired ports.

Easy to set up and use . I've owned several home routers, older models of Belkin, Linksys, and Netgear. This one is by far the easiest to set up.
It comes with a network SSID and password already installed, and security in place. You use a CD disk to install the router and it's working. YOu then take the CD to each other pc on the network.
The range is good. My house is 1500 square feet and I was having trouble getting wireless in my bedroom which is at the opposite end of the house. With this router I'm getting all green bars. It's much better than the basic model of Netgear that I was using before I got this one.
It's covering 8 networked devices in this house with no problem on a cable connection, including a ROku for steaming video WHILE online gaming is going on.
I would have liked to see them change the default router configuration to something OTHER than a blank password. I would have LIKED to see better instructions for accessing the router over a browser- the IP to type in is 192.168.2.1. It's easy to find online, but it would have been nice if they'd made it readily available with the other information.
To be safe, you should go in and set up a password for router configuration online.
I like that it is able to do mac address filtering. The browser-based configuration interface is fairly lean and basic. One thing I liked is that it gives you an option to power cycle the router on a set schedule. Even the best routers I've worked with on large networks seem to need that periodically.

Easy install works great! . I installed this router at my parents' house so that we could use our wireless devices when we visit them. It's perfect for what we needed. It installed in less than 10 minutes with the pictorial guide included in the box. At first, I got a notice that said I had to call Belkin for help with installation, but I decided to try the step once more and it went right through. It was quick and easy to add devices using the pre-programmed code.
There are many Belkin devices available and you'll find a chart on the Amazon listing to see which one meets your needs. This one never claims to work for gaming or HD video; there are other Belkin products for that. This is perfect for surfing the net, checking e-mails, and connecting ipods, Kindles and other wireless devices.
It met my expectations and I'd recommend it for anyone who needs a light duty router for basic home use. It didn't include any sort of print manual,so users will have to consult the included CD for that.

A good enough router . As some of the other reviewers have stated, this is a good-enough router for most people. We have issues with the wireless signal being weaker on one side of the house no matter what router we use, unfortunately. This router would be fine for a smaller house or apartment.
Works flawlessly and recertification is nothing to worry about. . Sometimes recertified products can be a mixed bag. Fortunately in this case it is a non-issue as I saw no difference between this item and its packaging and a brand new version. Everything was the same except for a little sticker. The product works great and is priced super low. If you need a wireless N router on a budget look no further. 5/5 stars all day long.
At Least it's Fast... . For my new home theater setup I took the plunge and went full wireless. The PC was doing fine with my old "G" router, but the xbox 360 kept disconnecting me in the middle of Black Ops games. The solution was either run ugly wires across the living room, or upgrade to a faster wifi connection. Although Belkin is a pretty mediocre brand when it comes to network equipment, the price was right and this router fit my requirements. The packaging was excessively simple. Upon opening the box you are greeted with a diagram of how to hook the router up (Power into wall! Ethernet cable into modem!). This actually isn't even necessary, as the cables are already plugged in for you inside the package. There are also more labels on top of the cables, showing where to plug them in. I'm pretty sure a 5 year old could get this going. The unit itself doesn't look like much. Don't be scared that the box says "recertified" - it looked brand new on the outside. It is, however, pretty light and feels like a cheap toy. Oddly, there aren't any port indicator lights on the front, just a single idiot light when it's powered on, and a flashing light for the WPS. Inside the box there is also a software CD, and a handy label telling you the default SSID and password. I skipped the software since it's not needed, and googled the default IP address (192.168.2.1) for the administration interface. The interface was pretty clumsily assembled, and there were some strange setup choices. For instance, one can see some crucial network information without ever logging in, whether the password is on or not. It has all the normal settings you'd expect, however.Since I'm not a fan of typing, I decided to try out the WPS. Although it was enabled, and the light came on and flashed for 2 minutes like it was supposed to, none of the 3 devices I tried were able to connect with it. Typing in the connection name and password manually worked though.Although the experience was not that great, I'm happy to say that the XBOX isn't disconnecting anymore, so this router has accomplished its purpose. It's definitely not the best router out there, but it fits the bill if you need something cheap with "N" speeds.
Cons Review
Not A Rooter For This Router . The price for the Belkin Recertified Surf N300 Wireless N Router is great. Even though this item is factory reconditioned, it still comes with a 2 year limited warranty and tech support. Unpacking the unit was hassle-free and the cat5 networking cable was even pre-attached to the unit, saving one less step when setting up.
Set up was straightforward:
Connect the router to the modem
Plug the router into an electrical outlet
Install Belkin software on computer and follow on-screen instructions on setting up the router.
Now came the frustrating part.
After a few minutes of the software unsuccessfully trying to locate the router, I decided to connect the router directly to the computer which worked out fine. The Belkin setup software could now find the router and I proceeded to personalize the SSID and set a security key. So far so good, I was now surfing the internet. Unfortunately, after 10 minutes of web surfing, the router suddenly dropped the connection to the computer. After a minute or two, the computer reconnected to the router again and everything seemed normal.
This disconnect - reconnect continued for the next 45 minutes so I decided to connect the router directly to the computer with a cat5 ethernet cable again and restore the router to factory settings. I renamed the SSID and set up the security key. The router once again started disconnecting and reconnecting continuously. At this point I was a couple of hours into this and decided to throw in the towel. Sadly the router is now back in the box.
Some other points I should mention:
When setting up, the router was less than 6 feet away from my computer so range wouldn't be a cause for the disconnect issue.
Also, when trying to connect my iphone to the router, the phone saw the router and I could connect to it, but the router wouldn't transfer the internet signal to the phone for some reason.
And as others have stated, the router feels very light and flimsy.
There are no network indicator lights to show activity on each network port and there is no wireless printing capability.
All in all, I cannot recommend buying the Belkin Recertified Surf N300 Wireless N Router because of its unreliability.

WIRELESS PRINTER NOT SUPPORTED . It is not as easy to set-up as stated on Amazon's site and on the box. On the Amazon site it lists all it wonderful capabilities, but does not tell you that it does not support wireless printing; while it does say this on the box if you are ordering this product you will not know this until you receive the item.
CONS: Software glitches that effect connecting products to this router.
Belkin's website is hard to use and not helpful.
No indicator lights for the Ethernet Ports making it harder to troubleshoot connection problems.
Does not support wireless printing.
This product is back in the box for use if my Linksys stops working and it will go back in the box when I purchase another router.
