The LaCie 130813 USB 2.0 PCI Card is plug and play, so just plug it in and it¿s ready to go to work for you. Once your device is connected, your computer recognizes it and automatically configures the necessary software. It¿s driver-free for Mac OS X 10.4 or higher and Windows 2000, Server 2003, XP or Vista. One standardized port and plug combination makes it simple and quick to connect and use. Add four additional external USB ports to your computer with the LaCie USB 2.0 PCI Card designed by Sismo.(This PCI card is not compatible with PCI express slots, laptops or notebook computers.) Made for users who want to upgrade their Mac or PC desktop, it¿s the quick, easy and affordable way to expand connectivity. The unique, exclusive design by Sismo comes with a dedicated gripping pad for ESD protection. The LaCie USB 2.0 PCI Card design by Sismo is a fully functional USB 2.0 host, supporting High-Speed (HS), Full-Speed (FS) and Low-Speed (LS) operation. It also offers full backward compatibility with USB 1.1 devices (at 1.1 speeds). The USB interface is cross-platform, meaning you can use your USB peripherals on both Mac and Windows systems. Hi-Speed USB 2.0 provides the necessary fast data transfer rates that today¿s external devices require. Conveniently, there¿s no need to shut down or restart your computer when adding or removing a USB device because they¿re hot-swappable. With USB ports on your computer, you can connect many peripherals using hubs¿a method called daisy-chaining. Technically, you can connect up to 127 devices to a single USB bus; for more than two devices, though, you must make new connections using a hub. A hub, which you hook up directly to a USB connector on your computer, usually has four or seven output connections enabling you to connect the same number of peripherals. In order to achieve the fast transfer rates of USB 2.0, you must connect your USB 2.0 device directly to a USB 2.0 port on either a computer or hub.

Great PCI USB card . Great usb pci card. Worked great in Dell Insperion tower running Windows XP Pro. One cool feature on this card is the small static free handle on the top of the card.

Additional USB ports made easy . Very easy to install, no driver required on Windows 7 64bit, solid build quality and easy to handle. The only minor issue is the blue 'on' light could annoy some.

Cons Review
card does not work with Mac G4 mirrored door . Had to return this card...
got the grey screen on start up with this card in my Mac G4 dual 1.25 mz desktop running OS X 10.4.11
I believe the the problem is the PCI standard the card specs say v2.3 required and my Apple manual
says it must comply with PCI 2.1 standard???
