Fantastic (for Panasonic only) . Combine Logitech and Carl Zeiss and you know you'll have a quality product. This large (8 inches wide) webcam sits on top of your flat screen and transmits in wide-screen vision and easily and clearly picks up voices from over ten feet away. The camera comes with an extension cord to make sure you can reach the USB port on your flat screen (total of eleven feet). Just be aware before you think about buying this great webcam, that it only works on seventeen models of Panasonic televisions. Hopefully in the future this might expand. It also only uses SKYPE. The rubber/plastic arm attachment allows the camera to sit on top of any flat screen, but an animal could easily pull it off, as my cat did. There is no solid clip and you don't want this webcam to hit the floor.

Installation is almost too easy. Just plug it into your flat screen and log into your SKYPE account on the screen. Granted, the other party will get the best reception and you'll receive the level of webcam quality they transmit with.

The HD 720p is absolutely amazingly clear with accurate color as is the sound quality. There is very little (there is some) blurry movement if you move fast enough, but for simply sitting on your sofa and talking to someone on their computer (or their own Logitech webcam). With the widescreen, you can get an entire sofa and its inhabitants in one screen shot. I'd give it five stars, but for now, Logitech only has this great webcam for Panasonic screens.
Logitech TV Cam for Skype, HD Video Calling on Compatible Skype-Enabled TVs Reviews
works with 2010 Panasonic Viera VT25 set . Just an FYI, I am successfully using the Logitech TV Cam for Skype with my 2010 Panasonic TC-P58VT25. I don't believe the 2010 VT25's are included in Logitech's compatibility list (2011's are), but it does work.
Logitech TV Cam for Skype, HD Video Calling on Compatible Skype-Enabled TVs Opinions
Awesome with a side of Awesome Sauce . The only thing about this camera not to like is the price, but even there you are getting quite a bit for your $150.I have a 2011 model Panasonic Viera, and the camera is a fantastic companion for the TV - easily comparable to the "professional" video conferencing we had at work a bare two years ago, for a lot less money. On top of that, it turns out that this camera works with at least one of last year's Vieras (the P50G20), which is not officially supported but I gave my camera to my sis-in-law and it works on her TV.
Crystal clear works great with my TC-L32DT30 . !! Caution: This unit is intended to work with a specific set of TV models make sure that you TV is one of them !!

I have been using skype for a number of years now right from the the ages of using a webcam on a PC all the way to using it on a iPhone for video calling.

While nothing compares to the convenience of using an iPhone for video chat for one to one. But if you want to do it as a family - to have a video call with grandparents - nothing like viewing it on a TV. It is as good as being there.

For this unit - all you need is a skype ID and connect this device to your TV. Skype requires a paid account for 3 way video conferencing, but 2 way one to one video calls are free. The other side of the party can be on any skype account - TV/PC/IPhone/Android ..
Does even more than advertised! . I was given this webcam but I wasn't sure if I would be able to use it since I could only use skype on my computer, not my TV. This webcam is advertised as focusing at the greater viewing distance of a TV, not the short distance at which a computer screen is viewed. But I needed a webcam so I tried it on my computer anyway. What was the worst that could happen, poor focus? I was surprised to see that it worked perfectly with super sharp focus! Even if I move right up close to it the focus is still excellent. Not only is the image super sharp, but it works very well in very low light. There was no special problem using it, either. My computer recognized it as soon as I plugged it in and automatically loaded the driving software. There was no problem with skype either. So, evidently this webcam is pretty smart!
The same company also makes models specifically designed for computer use. Supposedly, the only difference is the focusing distance, but it is not clear to me what that difference would result in.
A great family webcam contender right out of the box... . The Logitech TV HD Cam for Skype is an attractive and able entrant in the relatively new field of wide screen, HD web cams that are intended to be used with a compatible net ready TV. The features are well thought out and the look is definitely high end and stylish. The Logitech brand name is well known and well regarded and makes this a contender right from the start.

Your own need for the camera will probably come down to whether or not you have a Skype compatible TV (currently only newer Panasonic models are out of the box ready to be used with the camera) and whether or not you value the idea of video calling with friends while seated on your sofa, instead of from a chair, delivering a more relaxed full "you" you view to the viewer/caller. And, of course, you have to use Skype, the only video calling service supported by the camera/TV combo so far.

The one use for this camera that is probably unique, so far, and definitely an advantage, is for family calling where the whole mom, dad, kids, dog, cat, uncle, neighbor ensemble can pile onto the sofa and have chat en masse with a similarly equipped family member or, for that matter, an entire other family.

Parties of friends and kids net communing with each other is also an obvious use for this device. The camera is pretty much plug and play. If the big view, wide screen group chat function is appealing to you then this is probably a sure winner and good way to go. RECOMMENDED.
Excellent camera but.... . If you are looking for a web-cam, then this product is going to be overkill. I will say that the picture and sound quality is absolutely excellent, and my deployed brother said the picture on his end was vastly improved over the built in web-cam in our home computer, but unless you have one of the few Panasonic televisions with Skype that are compatible with this particular camera, I would recommend you continue to search for a less-expensive model that works with any television with Skype capability or a really great computer only model.

As for video, the camera does pick up a much wider viewing area than with most now standard laptop web cams or those that clip on to computer monitors. Some of the lesser quality cameras can make it seem to those viewing on the other end as if they are looking through a front door peephole, but this Logitech camera creates a nice, clean, broad viewing area for the other person. This makes it great for those who use webcams for Skyping with relatives or friends that need to take turns in order to be seen. The refresh rate is awesome, so even when people move there is very little blurring or freezing of the picture.

Another plus is the audio. The microphones are quite sensitive and do pick up a good bit of background noise. No headphones are needed, and conversations can be held in a normal tone of voice.

Sadly, our television is Skype enabled but not a Panasonic, so this camera didn't work out for us that way. It would be amazing if Logitech came out with this camera enabled to work with any Skype enabled television, especially for families with loved ones deployed overseas in the military or working in another state, or for any family members who live long distances apart. With this model, however, the price is too expensive for "just" a computer webcam, even factoring in the stellar audio and video.

(p.s. The computers we tried this on were a Dell desktop, an Asus laptop, and a HP Laptop, so no issues using it with various PCs)
You can't go wrong with Logitech . Truly plug in and play to the highest quality image on your TV. A wonderful gift for family members too far away to see often. Now the kids can visit anytime they want, for free. One person could be on their computer and the other could be on a compatible TV and what a welcome addition this is. So much easier than a normal web cam. Of course, you can use this on your computer as well. If you are wanting the best quality picture, look no further. Simple to use, and works as a normal cam with fast bright video resolution. So don't be turned off if you don't have the right TV etc, or Skype for that matter. It is so much more than that as just a web cam.
limited usage . I have purchased the Logitech TV CAM for Skype to use it with the Panasonic Blue-Ray Player DMS BDT-310. But both components won't work together (but I have the impression that the player works in the initial phase of connecting with the CAM).
And that is strange 'cause Logitech offers currently (2011-10) the same CAM (V-U0022) for European market and same compatibility like the US product (I have). This means that all European Panasonic TV product (beginning with TX instead of TC) are not compatible.
So my hope continues some day the CAM works with the Player - nevertheless Panasonic switches via Firmware update currently all Players from Viera CAST to Viera CONNECT, the new web access. Up to that time I use the CAM with the PC. It works with Windows XP and Windows 7 and no external driver is necessary. Also it works with Logitech Webcam Software (LWS 2.30). You could use the mic but not the integrated speaker I assume the CAM have.
My conversational partner confirms a very good image quality of the CAM. So in summery the resumee says usage with PC is given but currently not with any product outside the compatibility list. Three stars
Did not work with Panasonic DMP-BDT210 Integrated-Wi-Fi 3D Blu-ray DVD Player . Seems like a high quality product, nice sturdy plastic. However, I can't vouch for it's use as a camera because it did *NOT* work with my Panasonic DMP-BDT210 Integrated-Wi-Fi 3D Blu-ray DVD Player. As of 12/1/2011, the current firmware on my DMP-BDT210 does not recognize this camera.
