Good Router at a good price . After working with Linksys routers for many years, I noticed the quality of the product diminish after Cisco acquired Linksys. I decided to try another brand of router; following initial reviews on the product, I bought this. It was okay to setup and I also updated the firmware to the latest version. The setup had more features than the Linksys (which I was not accustomed to) through the web interface. My old Pre-N Linksys kept losing bandwith on my Wireless-G laptops, but this product helped with that (with the latest firmware update). Also, the price was okay, too. At around $88, this dual band works great for my home network.If you are familiar with setting up wired and wireless networks (knowing what a submet is, and what DHCP stands for), then I would recommend this to you; otherwise, this maybe to complex for you to setup.

Great Product With A Bad Rap Sheet . If you buy this router, upgrade your firmware immediately! This router has been rock solid with the newest firmware. I also bought the newest deluxe Belkin router, the N750, but returned it after only being able to connect at 75 mbps. The N600 HD connects at 150 mbps consistantly, and works fantastic. Belkin really needs to stop releasing new models every other month and work on the models that are already released. This router got a really bad rap for the buggy firmware that it was released with. I am very happy with this router and won't upgrade until Belkin releases a new model with all of the same options, but also allows fixed IP based on MAC address. If that option was available on the Playmax N600 HD, I would give it 5 stars. I also wish it had LED lights that show bandwidth consumption like the older Belkin N+ did. Ignore the bad reviews, this is a great router at a great price.

Excellent! Inspite of the mixed reviews! . I was also "iffy" with the purchase of this one. Actually I bought it first because it looked great for the price. But then I came home and started doing research on it. There is where I started to get scared and worried beacause of all the mixed reviews and especially because most of them were negative ones. It got to a point where I was doubting what I have done and I almost returned it a couple of times even before opening the box! (Side Note: I recently got Comcast High Speed Internet and I am using the Motorola SB5101U modem. I had purchased both my modem and my wireless router before I had my cable internet connected). But I decided to try it out first and in case it didn't work, then return it. Make a long story short, the router works awesome, the speed is great, the setup was so easy. Actually, I only plugged it to my router and turned it on. I didn't use the Setup CD or anything as it is already set up to just plug it and use it. You can use the CD to install the additional software (to use the USB ports for storage or using a printer, etc.) but it is not necessary. Last thing, the router had already the latest firmware (ver. 1.00.28) so I think it wasa one of the reasons it just worked and it is still working (I already had it for about a month). We don't have Cable TV or Satellite TV, so we use the router 90% to stream movies from Netflix ALL the time to the Wii and sometimes to the MacBookPro. Mostly the Wii so the kids can watch their cartoons and stuff on a bigger screen. Anyway, I have never had a problem with the router itself, only a couple of times I had to turn off the Wii to reconnect again, but I know it wasn't the router because the laptop was working fine at the time it happened. Another thing, everything in my house is wireless, my 2 laptops, my desktop and the Wii, oh yeah and sometimes I use my phone too. I just put the router in the middle of my house (my house is not big, but not small either, is a little over 1,500 sq. ft.) and I get really good reception everywhere in the house. Excellent repecetion all the time in the laptops.
I really recommend this, once again I was scared for all the reviews, but I guess they fixed all the issues with the new routers with the latest firmware.

Very Easy Set Up . I was very concerned after buying this router because Belkin had many bad reviews on a previous version. If you have an older version, Belkin has issued a firmware update that resolves many of the connectivity problems. I have Comcast as my internet provider and assumed that I would have to manually adjust settings because I have read other reviews that many had to duplicate the Comcast Mac Address on their router. After plugging router in and re-routing LAN cord from router to cable modem I was pleasantly surprised that internet and voip phone which operates by another router were not affected at all on my local machine. Installed the software and 15 minutes later I was able to connect to my work laptop wirelessly. I recently ordered a LAN adapter for my blu-ray player to connect to the internet and don't anticipate any problems. I was not expecting setup to be so easy, very happy so far!
Unexpected great router . After many phone calls to Belkin for support and replacement routers, the office in Indiana finally sent me what I needed. I was delightfully surprised after removing my old network and inserting the cd.! The set up was so easy. Configuring the SSID and WPA was simple. Fifteen minutes and all my devices recognized my network. I could not have been happier. I won't send the first replacement back until it is tested for 3 days. But so far so good.
