Great inexpensive solution . Bought this to solve a problem with an older notebook. My notebook's WIFI wasn't working properly, so instead of paying Staples or Best Buy approx $60-$100 to fix, I purchase this device for $15.00. Works great!!! Good decision. Now I have WIFI again.

TP-LINK TL-WN722N USB WiFi Adapter . Out of the many USB WiFi adapters I have, and when I say many, I mean at count I have 6x at present (mostly N, but a few G's, not counting the radio's in 4x laptops). This is the BEST, FASTEST and EASIEST to use adapter I have. It really isn't a long range adapter per say, I have both the Alfa's (N and G) long range adapters for that (wardriving, etc). I use this adapter on a C2D laptop in my bedroom with a DIY Catenna antenna. (My hook up is wired cable with 18 to 20 Mb's down and the router is in the kitchen of a 1x bedroom apartment.) I get, according to Speedtest.net, between 12 and 14 Mb's down (wireless fluctuates a lot in my apartment). As long as you're not trying to break any long range reception (get a long range adapter especially made for that, wardriving, etc) I would wholeheartedly recommend this adapter.

Ease of use and works like a charm! ^_^ . The TP-Link USB wireless adapter truly is a wonder! I used to use a 100ft LAN cable, but then I would have some connection issues due to the length of how far my 500ft cable would take me from my main router/modem. Once I got this adapter, the world got easier and it felt as though all the weight of the worlds darkness of the void had been lifted form my shoulders and the light came in warm and soothing. And for a time. it was good. It had reminded me of all the little things in life that make a big difference, suddenly appeared to have come to my aid once more to put an end to this evil darkness and its plot to dissect my connection. THANKS AMAZON! you are AMAZONG!(instead of Amazing, heh, get it!?) ^_^
