Transmission rate noticibley improved . I added this to my D-Link 626 g/b router. The router is in the basement of our wood framed home with wide duct work which interferes with transmission to computers on the first and second floors above. A maximum straight line distance of about 20 feet. The signal strength, measured by my computer on the second floor, improved from about 50% to about 75%. The strength improved to 100% when I changed from a PCI cardbus wifi adapter in the computer to a USB connected adapter with a cable that allowed me to move the adapter around to get the best reception. In summary, performance of the antenna is not 5 star, but it was well worth the $14 I paid with shipping.

didn't work for me! . I have a d-link router and was getting 1 to 2 bars and thought that with this antenna I was going to get at least 3 bars, but everything stayed the same, even when i changed the wireless card on my laptop from G to N then went down to 1 for some inexplicable reason that I assume has nothing to do with the antenna, gonna try a newer router for this one is about 3 years old or more. if anybody has a router that would like to suggest, I'm all ears, Router distance from laptop is about 100 Feet roughly.

Alfa 9dBi WiFi Antenna . This product was a replacement for a broken antenna on my router. Once received it fit right into the back of the router with no problem. The wifi reception is better when I go to other rooms with my laptop now than with the antenna that was provided originally. The antenna is long but I have my router on top of my desk and just hang it down and it still works great.

Easy and Effective . We were getting no wireless signal in our back bedroom and this item totally took care of the problem. It was as easy to install as unscrewing the existing antenna and screwing this one on in the same place. It took mere seconds for the computers and printers in the back room to pick up the signal. It has increased the integrity significantly. I highly recommend it as an inexpensive way to deal with weak signals.
Decent substitute for wired connection . Got 2 of these for a couple of computers in a home office that for various reasons can't be connected permanently via Cat5. Speed tests online show very little difference between wired and wireless performance, even when using both computers simultaneously. Even passes VoIP tests with flying colors. Only drawback so far is that, due to the size and weight of the things, they can't really be positioned freely. Need to lean them against the case or the wall, otherwise they'll fall over and point downward (and thus not work as well). Other than that, they're a great upgrade.
Review . Bought two and they do what they'e suppose to do, but still don't expect much. They seem to be good at sending, but not so good at receiving. Perhaps I need more signal on the other end too. Next time I'll try to add a power booster, something around 2 watts should do fine.
BIG antennas little performance . These antennas are so big that they barely fit together on the wireless card. Plus there's no boost in performance. Kudos to Amazon for the quick shipment though.
Good antenna but very tall . This antenna replaced the small one that came with my Zyxel Wireless router which broke. The antenna attached easily and works fine. It is quite large, so much more noticable than the one it replaced. I have only slight improvement in range, but it works fine. I would probably have gotten one a little smaller just because this one looks huge.
Cons Review
Absolutely worthless . I read all the reviews on this antenna and it seemed that it would fix my problem. I am trying to reach an upstairs location that is not very far from the router but has poor reception. I received this antenna today. Nothing changed at all. Same exact reception every where. Useless and worthless.
