Does More Than Advertised . I bought this USB DAC/Sound Card really as an experiment in comparison to the much more expensive Soundblaster X-Fi Surround USB and X-Fi HD USB that I've been fiddling with. For a low price I figured this would be a good experiment for CD Audio at 16 bit 44.1khz audio with headphones. I use this exclusively with a modest headphone amp in the Behringer Miniamp AMP800 and the Sennheiser HD 515 headphones. All you need to do is connect to the front 3.5mm connection and output that to whatever headphone amp you might have or directly to low impedance headphones or amplifier or amplified speakers. There is also support for up to 7.1 surround sound.
The drivers that Windows 7 64 bit automatically installs have a little bit of a surprise waiting for you. In configuring the audio sample and bit rate I spotted options up to 24 bit 96khz for analog playback and 16 bit 48khz in digital format via optical. The specs as advertised are innaccurate and luckily in this case the error is in our favor. So we have support here for DVD-Audio, SACD, Blu Ray Audio, and high resolution FLAC music files via analog at 24 bit 96khz. That is an impressive list of features for under $30 bucks. I have not tested the recording features. Playback is great.
The advantage of a USB external sound card for headphone use is that the audio signal is noise free. I can't hear any noise including hiss or buzz at all at very high volumes. The overall sound quality is quite awesome and it confirms to me that even the mainstream stuff is very high quality these days and the pay off for being a true audiophile is becoming less and less rewarding.

Works Great . I have this connected to my Dolby Digital 5.1 reciever via TOSlink and it sounds great. No drivers needed for Win7 x64.
It works! . Works exactly as described! Currently using it for 7.1 Surround and it sounds amazing! Worth your money!
Good product . I like it so far, I only use it for playing and watching movies, but it has everything I was looking for.
Cons Review
BEWARE - buzzing and feedback! . Beware of this item - I bought it on the strength of the handful of positive reviews on this page, thinking that a $25 product would work better than the $5 cheap option.
However, if anything, it works worse. There is just as much buzzing and feedback as the $5 USB sound card that I bought, except it's inconsistent - sometimes louder and sometimes nearly inaudible. I've tried multiple drivers, multiple restarts, every USB port on my computer, and every audio application I have, and nothing permanently removes the feedback.
It's impossible to enjoy music with this USB sound card. If your sound card is busted like mine is, I'd recommend shelling out $100+ to get it fixed rather than buying this.
