The WZ-2301A is an indoor solution 1W bi-directional Booster designed for 2.4GHz wireless LANs. This unit comes with an easy plug-and-play installation, which works together with an indoor Wireless Access Point to improve its operation range and performance. The unit is ideal for use with 2.4 GHz frequency hopping or direct sequence spread spectrum radio modems and 802.11b/g devices. The amplifiers increase range by providing transmit gain as well as low-noise receive gain. This receive gain increases the receive sensitivity of wireless LAN Access Point. Full output power of 1W is achieved with only 5 mW input into the Booster.

Performed as good as expected . After exchanging the initial product with one that worked this product did improve the range of my WI-FI. The tech support was great on dealing with the exchange of the bad unit, although I did RMA through DBRoth instead of the manufacturer in the end because it was a quicker exchange. I am broadcasting about 1/4 mile with an external 19dbi antenna using a Linksys WAP54G. At the receiving end I used a second WAP54G with original antennas as a repeater. I tried using various other APs, the Cicso worked best but was more expensive than the Linksys. Others did not perform that well. Do not expect this to double or triple your reception. I saw a 20-30% improvement, which was what I needed. I also tested this product in my office with similar results, 20-30% signal boost. I used WISpy from [...] to test signal strength.

Works Great! . I bought one of these on ebay before Amazon had them. It works great and amplifies the signal for both receive and transmit. I had previously tried a Hawking HiGain Signal Booster but it didn't seem to do anything and actually made the signal weaker but this one works just fine.

Indoor 1W 802.11b/g Fixed-Gain Booster/Amplifier Signal up to 1500M . I have a wireless router and several wireless laptops so I decided to give this Premiertek 1-Watt Amp/Booster a try. This product should be used for extending your wireless network not so much amplifying receive gain. I wanted to use it and see if I could get more access point connections around my house. It made a big improvement. I am able to go out by the pool and access the network or the internet.

26dBm is not 1W . Just wanted to point out that the 26dBm specified output power is less than 1/2 of the stated 1W output power.
1W is 30dBm
500mW is 27 dBm
26dBm is just about 400mW.

sucker really works. . i have a friend 1/2 a block away. i wanted to hook him up to my router.i put a large omni directional antenna on my roof and a yagi ant up at his place,only could get 2 bars. hooked this little sucker up to my bufallo router and bingo 4 bars.and a lot faster.whay can i say ,works great..
Awesome!!! . I'm using this for incoming signal to my PC where I hooked my network card to this amp and then to my antenna and I went from 2 bars to full bars!!! I was a little skeptical at first but this thing really did wonders, what a great little device! Couldn't imagine what kind of signal you'd get if you put one of these guys on both ends of the signal and if you wanted to get really crazy use high gain antennas.

Small size great gain. . I have many wireless routers and wireless network adapters so I decided to give this Amp/Booster a try. First off, this product should be used for extending your wireless network not so much amplifying receive gain. I wanted to use it and see if I could get more access point connections in my neighborhood.
The green led is nice feature to tell the booster is working and transmitting.
Receive gain is ok, a little better then nothing at all
Transmit gain is really good. It broadcasts well across my neighborhood (WPA-AES secured).
Overall for the price, its a good investment for a range booster. It even comes with the adapter to connect it to your ap or wireless router.

Cons Review
2 DOA and one was USED not NEW. . Purchased 2 amps and found one to be USED, had been installed (poorly), and removed/returned.
Then sold to back to me as NEW equipment - which is just wrong.
Then after doing tests on the 2nd amp, found it would degrade my receive signal
from -45db to -50db (amp removed) to -78db to -85db (amp installed). (This is
a bi-directional amp, right?)
So sent the MFG pictures of the USED amp they asked for and also asked for a
second RMA number.
Waiting to see how they handle this, and will report back here. (this is the
important step.)

Worthless . After reading the reviews I believed this was going to strengthen my wireless signal and I was terribly wrong. I spent hours trying to get this to work, and the signal was seemingly weaker with this than without this. I was using a Cisco Aironet, and it could be that this device is meant for a cheap access point, but I can tell you that this device makes valuable hardware less valuable. I tried this for extending the output and the input and it didn't help either side. This product is a complete waste of money!
Dead on arrival . This unit was DOA. I ordered another one, and Amazon cancelled the order. Now I cannot return the first one. This was a complete waste of my money. Thanks.
