Cheap but okay . I have an old portable router that has served me well for about 6 years. I travel a great deal and when I go to hotels that only have wired internet it's easy to plug the router into the cable, pay for the internet from my laptop, and then enjoy wifi from the laptop, iPhone, touch, etc - all my devices.
Increasingly I find that locations will use wireless internet and my old portable router can't connect to a wireless isp - so I'd have to pay (or be otherwise limited) in my ability to share a wireless connection when I travel. So I have been looking for a portable router that allows me to connect all my devices wirelessly through the one portal (router). I've tried a few (and sent them back because of difficulty of getting them to work or the frustrating interface that they chose). I have settled on the Zonenet because it appears to actually do what I want it to do. This is identical, by the way, to the little Tenda portable router - the only differences are that this one is blue (to the Tenda's beige) and the instruction manual for this one is SOOOO much better than the Tenda (if you buy the Tenda, download the manual from Zonenet if you want to figure out how to get it to work).
I get mixed results in using the Wireless ISP mode - at home, I cannot get it to work at all, but that may be due to some wifi settings I have on my home router. However, I am able to get it to work on an open system like Panera - following the instructions to tell the router to connect (and follow them carefully, you need to make sure that the channel that you are receiving and sending are identical, and that the security settings are identical in every way) I am able to connect wirelessly to this router and surf on Panera's network - which is just what I want to do.
Pro:
- Cheap
- Can power it through a simple USB cable (which also powers other devices like GPS, etc, so there are fewer cables to carry)
Cons:
- Manual is okay, not great. You have to read it a few times to figure out exactly what you need to do.

802.11N Wireless Router Reviews
Great as a portable router/firewall . I purchased this router for one reason: I need a portable firewall for when I'm using other peoples' wireless networks. Not only does the Zonet work well in this environment, but it does something I didn't expect!I needed to use the "WISP" function, which lets the router act as a wireless client. Not only does it get a non-wireless device on a WiFi network (you need an Ethernet port, however), but it also acts as a firewall for that device, preventing people at coffee shops or LAN parties from attacking your PC.Then I discovered the bonus feature: this unit ALSO has a second WiFi channel that lets me connect other wireless devices to the private side of the router. So this can act as a WiFi to WiFi router and firewall! This is especially handy for things like coffee shop business meetups: I can transfer files to my co-workers' computers using the private WiFi network while still being able to browse the Internet using the coffee shop's WiFi.In all, this is a very capable device, and I'm very pleased to have found something that meets this particular need.

802.11N Wireless Router Opinions
Great little travel router . I think that this little router is fantastic for travel. I use it to provide for myself wireless network in hotel rooms when I'm travelling. I've generally found that after set-up I just throw it in the laptop bag, take it out when I get there and I'm away.
Being powered of USB means that I don't even have to worry about adaptors for different countries.

Works perfectly as a AP . I upgraded my desktop to Windows 7 which didn't support my PCI wireless adapter. So, having had issues with usb wireless adapters in the past, I tried the Zonet 802.11N adapter since it was only $14 and had a lot of good customer feedback from multiple retailers. It worked well with my D-Link 108G router, but I decided to try adding this Zonet 802.11N as an access point so I could get N-speeds since I was only getting a 54 Mb connection with the D-Link router. Setting it up as a AP was simple since it's in this mode by default. Just follow the manual or get a IT friend to assist. I get a constant 100% connection & transmit rate even though a floor separates the PC and the AP. The only hitch was I had to perform a factory reset before I could connect to it the first time to set it up (not uncommon with cheap routers).
Warning: Make sure you put as much distance as possible between this and other network devices. Even with the wireless turned off on the D-Link Router, sitting the Zonet Router right next to it caused fluctuating connection rates (from 50% to 99%) no matter what channel I used (11 worked best for me). Use the length of the supplied Ethernet cable to separate them (about 3-4 feet).

ZONET . This little box was just what I needed for traveling. EZ to use and very portable. Now when I'm at a hotel that doesn't have wifi, I just plug it in, connect their internet cable and sit any where in the room.
Great product! . In most caeses i dont write a review bUT in this case i decided to write one. My dougther had to visit china for a few weeks and she travel with her Iphone. I bought this device and it worked well! Using the cable internet connection in her room she created a wifi bridge with this device so she could get into the internet with her Iphone. It is a simple plug and play device. If you travel it is a must device.
