small package big value . This unit has been in service now for 4 months and I have not had a single issue to find fault, save for not being available in gigabit version. I really was skepical about it when reading the cut sheets, but I just moved all of my home networking and security equipment into a Leviton Structured Media Center (SMC). I was having a little trouble with limited space and available equipment to choose from even after moving from On-Q Legrand to Leviton products. I think it is very close in size to the Netgear 5 port gigabit switch in foot-print, and gave me 15 useable ports.
It was able to be mounted in a small area, unlike my existing Linksys equipment and by it's rugged construction and metal case, I beleive added to transferring heat very well, I didn't have any over-heating issues.
If there was one thing I might wish was improved, would be a standardization of power supply requirements for equipment like this. I have several wall transformers that each piece needed and most were same 12 volts, and plugs were able to be standardized to 2.5mm with center positive. This device I believe was much smaller in plug size, and voltage was lower too so I was not able to feed from dedicated power supply like most every other powered device in cabinet.
A rugged and reliable switch, I give high marks for design, materials and workmanship and overall package.
