Tripp Lite USB 3.0 Hub... fast and stable . Hi. I've had this hub just over a week now. It's connnected to an external Burner, harmony remote, bluetooth mouse and one spare to go. It's connected to an I7 laptop which, sadly is not USB 3.0. I just missed it.Anyhow, one very strange thing with regard to installation.Being a hub... i took out my old, put in the new which included the new cable and connected all my devices to the hub. I then plugged it in and turned on my laptop.After logging in, i got an error the the device or driver could not install. It was my MS bluetrack mouse. So i connected it to my laptop and then the web cam installed. After it installed, the light on the Tripp Lite went out as if the connection to it was gone.I rebooted, logged in and then the 2nd device installed. SO now i had 2 lights... the web cam and the external dvd player. Then it seemed i lost connection again as the 2 lights went out so i rebooted. Upon logging in, another device installed and then again, lost connection. Rebooted, and all was good... i had 3 steady solid blue lights. Very strange.So i moved the mouse's receiver back to the new hub... it installed and guess what... i lost connection... all lights out. I rebooted and they all came back on.Since then... i've had no other issues.So... very strange... I'm very pleased though because with the older hub, i could not get my external burner working for anything. It would run and work but 70% of all disc's failed! It was unreal! Since the new hub... i have not lost one disc! I could not be happier!I would without question, recommend this unit.And no... nothing i have is USB 3.0. I bought it due to it's backwards compabiloity and because it's the latest technology. I was hoping it would fix the external burner issue... and it did. Ironically, plugging the USB 2 cable from that burner directly to the laptop... did not work either! Stranges thing.But... it's all working now. :)

It works perfectly. . Tried another brand, didn't work. Tried this Trip Lite and it works as it should. NO loading of drivers is needed with this; it loads automatically, and it loads correctly the first time.
Once installed I tested this against three external drives; two LaCie and one Western Digital. This Trip Lite USB 3 Hub worked in all cases. USB3 is a relatively new standard, and apparently some of the current USB 3 add-ons work better than others. Trip Lite is a known brand, and this partially decided me to use this as opposed to the no-name USB 3 hub I had before this; happy to report that the Trip Lite reputation is good on this item also.

Works great . Works great. I only wish that it was a little heavier so that the power and usb uplink cable wouldn't lift it off the desk. If you lay your power and usb uplink cable flat on a surface top, you may not have this problem. My cables go down a grommet hole, directly behind the hub.

Works for USB 2.0 . I've been using this for a week or two as a USB 2.0 (not 3.0) hub for my late 2011 Macbook Air. It seems to work just fine, without ever dropping the connection or having any problems, which is more than I can say for most other USB 2.0 hubs that I have tried. I haven't tried it for actual USB 3.0.
