Microsoft Laser Mouse 8000 dongle replacement . I purchased the Interlink VP6494 as a replacement for the transceiver dongle that came with the MS laser Mouse 8000 which cannot be purchased separately, It is also obsolete according to MS. I installed it on my Vista Laptop and installed the driver that came with the VP6494, it immediately found my HP DeskJet 460. It did not find the mouse at first, I removed and reinstalled the Intellipoint 6.1 driver for the 8000 Mouse and it only found the mouse after hitting the reset button on the bottom of the mouse. My MS Laser Mouse 8000 and my HP Deskjet 460 are both working great with my vista Laptop.
I wasn't sure about the functional performance with such a small transceiver but I am unable to detect any difference in performance with MS dongle and the VP6494.
My concern was MS branding their dongle with V3.0 but I was able to locate the specs for the 8000 and it was 2.0.

Nano Bluetooth Dongle Reviews
Amazing little Bluetooth Dongle . I never buy a product without a great deal of research first. The Nano Bluetooth Dongle was what I expected when received and installed. At first, I didn't notice the famous blue light when the software began to operate my devices; however, I was looking for it from the top of the dongle. Momentarily, I caught a glimpse of the flash from the sides and front of the darkened, but transluscent part of the dongle. The Nano is so small that it is almost un-noticeable from the USB port on the front of my desktop PC.
The software loaded smoothly on my Windows 7 Home Premium 32 Bit OS. Actually, the dongle learned much quicker and easily than an embedded bluetooth on my high-end HP laptop. I consider the choice to purchase the Nano to be a no-brainer.

Awesome.. well worth it . Was skeptical if this would work, I already have bluetooth activated on my computer but wasn't able to connect my new wireless plantronics bluetooth headset to make calls through skype. So took a shot at purchasing this nano bluetooth (VP6494) for the computer and it works perfect. It was an easy set up and connected to skype no problem. It's very clear on both ends of the call, so very excited about this purchase:- )

Mini Bluetooth Dongle . I had previously purchased a similar unit but could not get good drivers (free) and it would not support voip headsets etc. This uses the Toshiba stack (you can also download the Toshiba update, ignore the message about works only with Toshiba computer) works with a variety of headsets; however to use stereo headphones (with mic) you have to use the manual setup mode and tell the software it's a standard earpiece type headset. The quaility is poorer when configured this way, the quality is good when used with a stereo headset. The range is marginal you really don't get the full 10 meters i.e. 33 feet it's more like 15 feet before quality problems. I've tested it using a Dell 840 notebook running XP Pro and and Acer netbook running XP Home
inexpensive way to connect to bluetooth devices . I bought the SMK-LINK NANO Bluetooth Class 2 Dongle to pair my Dell Inspiron Laptop with 3 devices (1) a Plantronics 510 headset (2) a Plantronics Voyager 520 headset and (3) Motorola S305 headphones. All three devices paired with no problem to my iPhone. I installed the drivers on the attached CD and was able to connect to the 510 and the 520, but could not connect to the Motorola S305. I had to call tech support that helped me adjust the Bluetooth security settings on the PC to connect to the Motorola headphones. Strangely, when we changed the security level from Standard to High, they connected with no problem.
It took a couple of phone calls to SMK-LINK to resolve the problem, but they did.
Now I would recommend this dongle.

Plug it in and forget it! . Works with everything I've connected. Small enough to leave in all the time. Great value - buy it!
Small Bluetooth dongle works great . This Bluetooth dongle is just right for me. It is small and, therefore, not very intrusive - it just sticks out a little bit from the USB port. Good range and set up was easy. Great for the price.
Perfect . I got it pretty quick. It is extremely small so it doesn't stick out or take up space. Accepts tons of connects. Good range. Using it my carpc w/centrafuse to have hands free calling. Has a light so you know it is working. Extremely easy to set up.
VP6494 Miniature Bluetooth Dongle Review . Product works as advertised. The small form factor allows us to leave them in our computers. The software driver and control panel install easily and work well and intuitively. No regrets purchasing a couple.
Cons Review
spoiled in less than 6 months . A few days ago, this receiver suddenly stopped working! I bought it less than 6 months prior and it worked fine up until last Friday. I plugged in my iPod cable into the same USB hub that this dongle was in, and then realized that my bluetooth mouse no longer worked. I thought it was the mouse batteries, but it turns out that the receiver won't detect my other bluetooth devices either.
Additionally, I can't return this anymore because it's past Amazon's return period. Such a pity, because everything was going fine and dandy when it just did its job. Now I've to search for another one. Sigh.
