This Skull USB Hub might seem like a bad omen, but it's really just a way to keep your desktop clutter-free! With rooms for pens, paper clips, and other office essentials, this clever USB hub will help keep your head together at work. With 2 USB ports on either side of its jaw, it also makes a great docking station for plug-ins that exceed your computer's capacity. Get organized with this novelty skull gift, which also works as a paperweight. Your friends and co-workers are sure to enjoy this USB hub that seems straight out of the haunted house! Works with Windows or Mac. USB cord included. Weight: 1.5 lbs. Size: 6" x 3 1/2" x 3 1/2".
Functional workplace distraction . I needed a USB hub, a recent monitor size upgrade at work meant I lost the downward facing ports I used for my keyboard and mouse and I did not want to run two separate USB extension cords. All the usual hubs were very high tech looking, little shiny plastic blocks that at best looked like an abstract art toy. If you are going to have something sitting in your view all day it might as well be something interesting.
This fit the need perfectly. It's a fairly convincing skull but is smaller than a real adult body part. The color and texture are a few steps up from your average Halloween candy bowl item with the weathering/yellowing effect having multiple shades in convincing places, and nicks in the surface in seemingly appropriate places. You can tell it's not real, but not without staring at it for several seconds and possibly touching it to be sure.
Seems to work as a USB 2.0 device just fine, no issues after three weeks. The cord could have been a little longer, it's just under five feet long, but it's enough for what I needed it for. Note that this is NOT a powered hub - make sure any hard drives or other items that need a powered hub have their own power or secondary usb connection. Should be fine for most usual USB items - thumb drives, input devices, MP3 players, I have used all of those on it with no issues. The fact that it can hold some items it in the top is nice too, good for pens if you lay them lengthwise, maybe replace a small candy dish or pencil mug you had before. And of course be ready for a few comments and strange looks from your coworkers.

Skull USB Hub . This is a great way to add some look to your desk. Right now it is holding all the little items that used to tend to fall off like my jump drives, pens, and screw drivers. Just plug and play, very simple. The only problem is it is has no external power so don't plan on using it for any big devices like your mouse or keyboard.
Unique Reliable and Useful . I have had my hub for about a month now. I was initially impressed with how much weight there was to it. It does not move around on its own so it is by far the most stable USB hub I have found to date. I plugged it in, using it for my powered external hard drives and they appeared on my desktop. Talk about plug and play!
The highly unique skull shape (which another reviewer noted) was smaller than an adult human and the top is open so you can store thumb drives or scan disk cards, candy, or whatever in it. It sort of doubles as a bowl for your desk. What other USB hub does that!
PROS:
Easy to use
Seemingly durable (we'll see how long the plugs work and if there is a problem I will update this review)
Well designed and crafted
Stays put. Heavy enough to stay on your desk even if what it is attached to falls
Conversation starter
Passive USB (it is not powered). As a pro, this means you can put it anywhere, only restricted by the cord length of your hard drives and fewer wires. Works very well with powered externals.
CONS:
Only 4 plugs. I think there is room for more toward the back of the skull. Six or eight plugs would make this thing unbeatable!
Passive USB (it is not powered). Portable hard drives don't work with it, but I didn't expect them to. A powered version would be great.
Plugs are a little close together, but now I am getting petty
This is a great little unit. Any Grateful Dead fan would find it the "Cat's Meow" as a gift along with everyone else looking for a unique, useful and well made gadget.

I Love My Skull! . I've bought a lot of stuff from Amazon, and this is by far my favorite purchase. Skully is totally bad-ass, looks really cool sitting on my sub-woofer, and he gives me someone to talk to! Seriously, it's an excellent hub. I hook my external hard drive to it...no problem, data transfers lightning fast. Same with microphone, flash drive, you name it, no problems. I figured I'd have to sacrifice some performance in exchange for "coolness", but that was not the case. Well worth the money!
