Better Than I Expected . Well, looking at this USB hub, it seemed to not look any different than any of the other hubs that everyone else was saying was just cheap. I needed a USB to connect a few MIDI to USB devices for on-stage performance, which means the hub I was going to buy needed to be able to power USB devices. None of the other hubs in this price range would power USB items by itself, so I figured I'd buy the one with the power adapter, just to play it safe. Well, I was pleasantly surprised with this one.
PROS:
It powers items on the hub *without* the power adapter, and it's fast and responsive! That was awesome for me! That means I don't have to plug in something else to power on stage! It came with the power cable, but I found I don't even need it. I run two USB MIDI decices on it without a problem. It will even run my M-Audio Fast Track Pro USB audio interface without a problem. It even charges and syncs iPods perfectly! (Now, I'm sure there is a limit within reason to this, though... I mean, I wouldn't completely expect to be able to connect seven USB-powered devices to the hub and use it without plugging in the power adapter to the hub. It may work perfectly fine, but I'm not sure.) Cables plugging in to the hub seem to stay fairly secure: secure enough for the hub to be dangling from a music stand and everything stay plugged in. You can even give the connection a little tug. It's in there pretty snugly.
CONS: The only thing I have to complain is that the power adapter cable they sent with the hub is a bit on the short side. Like, not more than 2 and a half feet. A bit of a letdown, but don't let that be the only reason to buy this product. I found that what I'm using it for it doesn't need it in most cases.
CONCLUSION: This is a good product. Actually, considering I payed less than $10 for it, it's a great product! It's done absolutely everything I needed it to without a problem!

Good buy for the price . Good product! The usb hub does exactly what it's supposed to, that is it work.
Works perfectly on Linux( Ubuntu) and Windows 7 without any need for installation CDs( it doesn't come with any).
The hub comes with a AC adapter that has a rather short cord, and is necessarily required for low power devices. Currently I have 5 devices plugged (keyboard, mouse, 3 USB serial ports) and it works just fine from the power provided by the USB port on my computer.
I personally don't think you can find a better deal for the price, considering you're getting a 7 USB port hub for a price cheaper than any 4 port hubs out there.

Good but short power cord. . I've been using this for about a week now, and it's pretty solid except for the length of the power cord. It's only about 2 feet long, maybe 1.5 feet. As long as you don't need it to be powered (or you can get the hub within 2 feet of a power source) you'll be fine.
It looks and feels a little cheap, but seems sturdy enough, and is fairly compact. The length of the power cord is the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars.

Nothing special! . The actual USB hub is great, "but" the a/c wire you plug into it is all of about 2 feet long, so since you want the usb hub up on your computer desk and the a/c wire plugged into the wall, isnt happening. I went out and had to buy the shortest (6') extension cord just to plug it in.
Great Deal Great Product . This is a great product, especially for the price. It arrived quickly and in its original retail packaging. I had priced many comparable hubs at four times or more for the price and expected one of those 'get what you paid for' products. That was not true at all. This product is comparable to devices that cost five times the price. It met all specifications or exceeded and was just what I needed to add USB ports to my desktop with it own power supply and better then many because the ports are not blocked due to width of the usb connection to ports when the ports are in a case. It also works better then most when daisy chained with other of the same product without getting a windows message that the connection is slow. I would recommend this product over any of the port expansions I have seen.
Cons Review
DOA . It looked cool and was cheap but was dead on arrival. It's so cheap though it's not worth the shipping costs to send it back. The power cord is short, it's not even as long as my desk is tall. The usb cord that plugs into your computer is maybe 2 inches long. I would definitely have an extension cord and a usb extension cable ready to go....If I was recommending getting one, which I'm not. It gets 2 stars for being cheaper than shipping.
Not Hi Speed . This product is not a hi speed hub. Windows will notify you of that if you run a 2.0 device through it. If you don't care, it's a great deal. Otherwise, it's probably a waste of money (I paid $6). Either way, the name of this product is misleading at best.
You get what you pay for . My Windows 7 machine only recognized this device as USB 1, making it almost useless. If were used with an older OS that saw it as USB2, the flaw would be the ridiculously short p cable from the power supply.
