SD-EXP24010 in 54mm ExpressCard Port . I bought this card to add Gigabit LAN to a laptop that only had 100mbps built-in LAN. The laptop has a 54mm ExpressCard port. I found a three pack of 34mm to 54mm stabilizer "wings" for about $3 locally. I received the card and attached the 54mm stabilizer. The card seems to stick out about 3 to 5mm more than needed from the laptop's ExpressCard port, but maybe other laptops need more clearance.
Once inserted the card was instantly recognized in Windows 7 x64 and drivers automatically loaded. I never touched the disc that came with the card, but never do for any PC hardware. Just get the latest drivers from the manufacture's website or in this case let Windows 7 handle it automatically.
The card connected as a 1Gbps connection to my Gigabit network (Trendnet 16-port switch). In the adapter properties it shows Jumbo Frame support up to 9K MTU in 1K increments. I did a file copy of a ~8GB file and the 5,400 rpm laptop HDD maintained about 65 MB/s which is what I was expecting since the HDD transfer speed is the bottleneck. I also ejected the card and reinserted it a couple times, without rebooting, and it reconnected with no problems.
So far everything works great and it performs better than expected. I was concerned that the ExpressCard port speed would be a bottleneck, but that wasn't the case with my (wife's) laptop. If I had to find a negative it would be that the card could be about 5mm shorter so that the bulging part of the card would be flush with the side of the laptop. In my case there is a gap between the side and where the bulge begins. However, I assume the distance needed varies depending on the laptop so I'm not going to knock it down a star.

Popped it into my 54mm ExpressCard slot and within seconds Windows 7 SP1 64-bit had installed Realtek drivers dated June 23, 2010 Version 7.23.623.2010.
Within a minute of opening the package I was downloading files from my Home Server at around 50MB/sec.
Negatives: It sticks out of the computer quite a way (around 1 inch) but no way around that given the size of the RJ45 socket and the need to be able to push the device further into the slot to disengage and remove it. It would appear more stable if my laptop slot were 34mm - guess I could buy a stabilizer for that if I needed to!

Awesome Product . I've had this card for over a week now,Installed it in my HP Compaq 610 the drivers installed in less than 5 seconds (win 7), didn't need to see the included CD.I transferred many movies from the Laptop to my Desktop (Gigabyte X58A-UD3R Rev. 1.0) through ASUS RT-N16 Gigabit Router, the transfer rate had an average of 60MB/s, this is the hard drive speed limit for both the laptop and desktop.I'll update this review once I get two SSDs (one for each computer) then we'll know the real peak transfer rate.

Works great . Not too much to say... the thing was cheap, Windows 7 picked up the drivers for it automatically, and it has not had any problems since I bought it. Pretty much a perfect experience.
Fast but a little tricky on Windows Vista . On the plus side these gigabit ethernet adapters are very fast and the price is excellent. The transfer time to our file server is now 6x faster than it was before.
On the minus side it took me nearly 3 hours to get them working under Windows Vista 64-bit home premium. The main issue was that if you let Windows automatically go out to the network to find the drivers it appears to work fine but in reality it installs the Realtek RTL8102E drivers instead of the 8111 drivers. But it isn't obvious that there's an error because the 8102 drivers work fine at 100 mbps so it's pretty mysterious why it won't connect at gigabit speeds. Installing the proper drivers from Realtek fixes the problem.
A few other small issues are that about one third of my ethernet cables don't actually latch properly in the card so they can fall out pretty easily. Of course the card pulls out pretty easily anyway so it's not like this is a major issue. Also, at least once after getting everything installed properly the card wouldn't connect at gigabit speeds until I took the card out and reinserted it.

Great Product for the Price . I had muddle through with a USB "Gigabit" adapter since for a long time since the only ExpressCard network adapters I found were priced around $50 (the Belkin). I have a thing against paying anywhere near $50 for a network adapter. Anyhow, when I saw this and the great reviews I gave it a go.

Great card works with Linux Don't forget the adapter. . Worked right out the box with ubuntu 10 LTR.

Causes issues in winxp . Works but causes issues in winxp. Sometimes I have to reboot to make it work and sometimes I'm not able to shutdown my laptop. Never had this issue before installing the drivers for this adapter.
Wow! . I purchased this adapter for a Lenovo 3000 V100 laptop which is about 4 years old. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate but Internet speeds were too slow with the built-in 100Mbps ethernet adapter.
When I popped the card into the ExpressCard 54 slot, Windows immediately installed the driver and I was online in seconds. Speedtest.net showed the original peak download speed at 7.9 Mb/sec. With the new card I got 21.6 Mb/sec.
Along with this card I also purchased from Amazon the StarTech.com ExpressCard 34mm to 54mm Stabilizer Adapter - 3 Pack ECBRACKET (Black). This snapped right onto the card and provided greater stability to the card's attachment to the laptop.
Now my bottleneck is the SATA I drive at 5400rpm. I'll try an SATA II drive at 7200rpm to see what difference that makes.
06/21/2011 Well, the new 320GB hard drive runs twice as fast as the old one. That's the good news. I ran a LAN speed test with a 200MB packet size and achieved 640-670Mbps (80-84MB/sec). Although this device advertises 1GB/sec, it's apparent that my laptop won't get anywhere near that speed. I also tested another (fast) desktop PC and got speeds of 500-800Mbps (64-100MB/sec). My max Internet speed is capped at 15Mbps (2MB/sec), so I'm still not sure what the bottleneck is.
The bottom line: It's a great device for the money!

I strongly recommend buying this product as I have tried and tested it myself (Of course, there could be a malfunctioning piece out there, but that depends on one's bad luck). I tried 3 different Gigabit Expresscards: ExpressCard 1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet LAN Network Adapter for Laptops from DealExtreme.com, Belkin Gigabit Ethernet ExpressCard network adapter from Dell.com (Part #F5U250) and Syba SD-EXP24010 ExpressCard 34mm Gigabit LAN Network Card from Amazon.com.
The one I received from DealExtreme with VIA velocity chipset would not go beyond 85.5 Mbps even though it was connected at 1000Mbps (faulty piece). The one from Dell passed with transfer rates of 845.3 Mbps and...
Syba surpassed everyone with transfer rates upto 951.9 Mbps. The RealTek chipset in this card is simply excellent and gives wonderful performance.
All tests were done with Cat5e Cables and D-Link DIR 655 router using the iperf utility.
