This NetGear WNR3500L-100NAS Rangemax Wireless-N Gigabit Router comes with DD-WRT VPN firmware pre-loaded. It supports both OpenVPN and PPTP VPN besides tons of DD-WRT features. It also acts as a regular Wireless N router with 4 port Gigabit switch and 1 USB port .

This device sortof sucks out of the box . I got this thing today.1 - First thing I noticed is that there is NO SERIAL NUMBER. WTF??? 2 - I attached it to the network. I waited until the power and internet lights turned green. I tried to ping the default IP address of 192.168.1.1. The router did not consistently reply. If I do a ping -n 20, it got 5 or 6 replies from the router. WTF???3 - Web access to the GUI was extremely slow. So slow that Firefox received connection time outs 9/10 times on the basic setup page. Clicking on the other links accessible from the setup page yielded, no reply, connection timeout.4 - When I tried to access other pages on the internet, I got connection timeouts roughly 8 out of 10 times. This is with a device connected directly to the LAN ports.I tried to contact Netgear, but w/o a serial number you are SOL.So after a couple of hours playing with it, I tried the 30/30/30 reset. This seemed to fix it. Not sure who configured it at Netgear or what they did to it, but after the 30/30/30 reset it behaves pretty much as I expected it to when I purchased it. Normal web speeds.Everything else seems to work as well.
