This review is from : HiRO 54Mbps Wireless-G PCI Adapter with 2dBi Omni Direction Antenna (H50069)
Easy as Pie (Tricky for Win7) . Works as it is supposed to. Drivers were a little difficult to find as the included CD does not include Windows 7 drivers on it. Quick search on Google found it though. Great product, pushes some nice speeds through and gets excellent range.
Great buy. . Easy install. My PC was up and running in about 10-15 mts. No hassles. The only way this can get better is if it was priced under $10.00
HiRO 54Mbps Wireless-G PCI Adapter with 2dBi Omni Direction Antenna (H50069) Reviews
works great!!! good price easy installation . I have it installed on my small form factor Compaq EVO D510 desktop. My wireless router is a netgear in another room. The pc is inside my TV cabinet and the reception is "excellent". I am not using the extra extension antenna provided, only the fixed one.
HiRO 54Mbps Wireless-G PCI Adapter with 2dBi Omni Direction Antenna (H50069) Opinions
Great Bargain . Replaced the fax/modem card in a gateway fx4710 with this unit and it works flawlessly. Windows Vista premium found the appropriate drivers without me having to install anything or even open the cd.
Great hardware but software klunky . I am using this in a custom arcade cabinet I built my son. With the PC at near floor level behind thick MDF, situated in a basement room where the access point is upstairs in a kitchen cabinet at ceiling level, I had concerns about getting a usable signal.

The remote antenna on this unit was just what I needed. I wish the cable were about 1 foot longer for my use, but it's plenty long enough for your typical desktop application. Pulls the signal in great. I have about 80% signal strength.

The software though, is a hassle. Once configured it is solid, but it didn't always operate as expected during configuration. If you bear that in mind and can get past the frustration, the rest of the product is great.

Cons Review
Failed in Dell Inspirion running VISTA . The installation CD installed the driver without a problem. Physical installation of the card was not a problem and the Windows new HW wizard associated the card with the driver. The card's utility installed and came right up. Creating a profile for the wireless network and router was no problem.

But, even though the card found the router and connected it reported limited connectivity. Using the Hiro utility it reported the card had an internally configured IP address and a default gateway IP address of 0.0.0.0. In short, the card failed to get it's configuration information from the router via DHCP. This problem was unique to the Hiro card (the two laptops we were using while sitting right in front of the Hiro machine worked fine with the router, as did the 2 TVs, 2 DVDs, and 2 Satellite boxes, which all had internet connections to the router configured via the router's DHCP service.

The Hiro utility does not provide an option for manually configuring the IP address, so that workaround was not available. Configuring the IP addresses manually for the card via Vista TCP4 properties resulted in blue screening.

I attempted to find an updated driver as the one on the CD is circa 2006. I found them and down loaded, but Vista did not recognize them.

So, after about 6 hours invested I tired of fighting the card and Vista and I packed it in and got a RMA this morning.
Hiro Card did not fit Desk Top Card Slot . The Hiro H50069 - Network adapter - PCI - 802.11b, 802.11g did not fit in the available card slot of our new HP Pavilion desktop model P6210F (Windows 7) which we bought in November of 2009.
I bought the Hiro H50069 based on very good reviews but was very surprised, that the card did not fit into the card slot. The pin arrangement and physical length of the PC board and the card slot were very different.
I thought these things were standardized by now. Maybe the standard had been changed?
I got a full refund from Amazon without any problem after I sent back the item.
I bought a D-Link DWA-131 USB Adapter and after getting the driver for Windows 7, the communication was established very quickly.
