this is too good to be true . I don't need to remove this from my laptop when travelling. It's so small that is almost part of the case. Installation on win7 was easy and the software is very helpful for managing the wireless connection.
CNet CQU-906 Wireless-N Pico USB Adapter Reviews
Works wonderfully for the price . The adapter really works, it is so small that there's no need to unplug it from my laptop. The best part of the installation is that Windows XP installs its driver automatically! I did not even put the driver CD in, XP actually included and found its driver and did its own installation, I believe it goes the same for Vista and 7. The CD itself also contains drivers and a utility (which I didn't bother to install). There's also an activity LED that blinks, so you know it works visually.
Excellent item. . Couldn't be more pleased with this. I work on multiple machines away from the router and love this convenience.
CNet CQU-906 Wireless-N Pico USB Adapter Opinions
Provides decent speeds if not super fast speeds . After having this for a couple of days here is my take on this dongle.

1) It's cheap;

2) It works without much hassle;

3) It can be used as an access point; &

4) Connected speeds are erratic though from 30Mbps to full 150Mbps. Nonetheless, I can still get 23Mbps throughput from my ISP. (A wired connection from my ISP gives 24Mbps. And the fastest throughput I get from my built-in G adapter is 17Mbps)

Overall for it's price it's a good buy.
nice little gadget . I love how this little, inexpensive, gadget works right out of the box without bothering with the driver disc. It's a great tool to make your hardware wireless; the only downfall is its speed. Checking my download speed at speedtest.net, I only achieved about 5.8 Mbs. Perhaps there are settings to adjust this, or my hardware limits this but that is what I got "out of the box". Brilliant gadget, just slower than I expected.

Cons Review
I should've paid better attention . Received today, installed easily and without issue using Windows Update for drivers, not the CD.

Connects to 802.11n network as expected BUT... Speed on a stationary laptop, no people or animals moving around it (no one here but me), varies every few seconds and seems to shift from 7meg to 14.5 to 21.5 to 28 and all the way up to 58meg and back down. It's going in sequence mind you, just jumps randomly from one speed to the next with 7 and 58 being each end apparently. I'm in the same room as the router, line of site, about 7 feet away (Linksys 4200 wifi router).

It seems to be mostly centered around 14.5meg speed, but it' still fluctuating as I type this. Signal strength is very good (5 out of 5 bars) so I don't understand the speed problem.

Read the manual, short and about useless it is.

And, as I type this, the adapter just disappeared from my system (not showing up anymore). And there it is again. Most bizarre. Seems the adapter turns itslef off and then back on again every few minutes. Turned off power management for the USB device, no change. Either a defective unit, bad driver or both.

Rolled back to the driver from the CD, same behavior so it's not software. I normally use that USB port for an external hard drive so I know the port is good.

I've read other reviews from other sites where people were complaining about problems like this, but I figured for the price I could spare a few dollars if it didn't work. Apparently it doesn't work, so I'll have to find a larger USB something that I don't want (small is better in this case, big will just get broken eventually) but I apparently have no choice.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS ITEM. It works, just not well and not often. I've only had it an hour and I've already pulled it out. I'll keep it for use on a system with either no wifi at all or non-working wifi just so I can fix it, but pull it again when done. This thing doesn't work well enough for long enough to be of any real use.

EDIT: 2 hours later, the poor little thing just gave up. Was conneected at 58meg, but would barely handle any traffic (connection kept resetting). Switched back to wifi-g at 54meg and it is much better than using this adapter. It's a very hot little thing now, feels about hot enough to burn my fingers.

Tried it on another laptop. It's not working any more, at all. So, I just tossed $15 plus shipping out the window.
