Slim Travel Companion . Belkin's 7 port Ultra-Slim Series USB 2.0 Hub is an easy way to increase number of devices that you can connect to your computer. It really is compact and slim, quite a change from bulky 4-port hubs I remember using not too long ago. In fact, it is so small that I've misplaced it twice! If you keep it in a black laptop bag or attaché case, it can be hard to see. The only thing keeping it from being truly ultra-portable is it's rather large and heavy power brick. Thankfully, I've yet to need it, though I tested it and it does work fine.Aside from those two complaints, I'm really happy with this USB hub. It slips easily into my laptop bag and doesn't take up much desk space when in use either. I like that it is truly plug-and-play and works between the Windows and Mac platforms without complaint. So far, I had as much as 2 thumb drives, once camera and a MP3 player hooked up to it at one time, and they all worked fine. Granted, the USB port on my computer(s) is powered, so your results may vary. Currently, the Ultra-Slim Series USB Hub isn't exactly inexpensive when compared to the competition, but you are paying for the convenience, ease of use and slim form factor. Works great . I took this USB 7 port hub with me to Guatemala on my last trip, and it really saved me. We had so many things to hook up to my poor laptop, including scanner, speakers, modem, camera and more that this slim little guy saved me for sure. It's almost impossible to get electronic parts of any kind where I was so I would have been lost without it. It has an electrical cord that plugs in, so I brought an extra surge-power strip with me and a 3 prong to 2 prong plug adapter (ground to non grounded) for all the old electrical outlets and we had a great time. Got all our work done, too. Thanks for letting me give this a try and review it as a Vine member.

Belkin Ultra-Slim Series 7-Port USB 2.0 Hub . This is an Amazon Vines review of this hub. The item arrived timely and was well packed. It is a light weight and compact 7-port USB 2.0 hub. It comes with a power cord and USB to PC connector and both are reasonably long cables, which is nice because one hub I purchased a few years ago had connectors that were just to short to make the device convenient to use. Because of its slim design it fits about anywhere, but one minor issue is that it is so small and light if your USB cables have any tug to them they will pull on and move the unit, so be sure you have long enough connector cables that are not tugging on the device.
I tested the device by connecting a small HP USB 2.0 pocket drive to the hub and then transfer several DVD video files. The USB 2.0 hub worked extremely well and allowed for fast, steady file transfers. All in all, this is a slim, compact, USB hub and seems to work well and be reliable, and the price seems fair. I would recommend the hub to anyone who needs a USB hub with 7 ports.

Great product! . I have a Mac Mini which has just two USB ports. I have several devices for my Mac Mini - my keyboard with built-in touchpad, my iPod Touch, and my printer - which use USB connections. Before, I would find it a chose to have to unplug my printer's USB cable just to be able to connect my iPod. But now with this USB hub, I can keep everything hooked up and don't have to unplug anything.
Exactly what I needed . Let me start by saying I have had several USB hubs over the years. One common problem among all of them is the extremely short cord that comes with them. My primary reason for a USB hub is to have easier access to my USB slots as the ones on the back of my computer are difficult to get at. I absolutely love this USB hub for this reason. It's cord is more than long enough. It's slim design also makes it fit anywhere. I would never really need 7 ports in use at one time, but I currently have my gaming keyboard, gaming mouse, headset and two iPod sync cables plugged in and everything still works great. It's even fast enough for me to plug my external hard drives into with good transfer rates. I was one of those people who would never actually use my headset for anything because plugging and unplugging it was such a pain, but now my fancy Logitech gaming headset actually gets used because I can reach the ports! I really have no complaints at all about this product and I'm happy I'll never have to buy another sub par port again!
Doesn't run my USB-powered external hard drive . Great idea--a device that provides additional USB ports for your PC, Mac, laptop, or anything else that uses USB. If it worked properly, it would allow you to have the ports in any convenient location, so that you wouldn't have to grope for the ports in the back of your PC which may be inaccessible. Trouble is, it only runs some USB devices--apparently, those with their own power supplies. It will run my external hard drive that has a power supply, but won't run my Seagate 1TB drive that is USB-powered. The Seagate runs just fine if I plug it directly into the CPU. So, not a terrific product in my opinion, but works if you only want to plug in the types of devices it will work with.
Great powered USB hub . This is a great powered USB hub. The use of USB hubs has become widespread and many use power beyond specified limits. This product helps overcome that needed limitation.
Perfection! well almost . This USB hub is great! It's slim and easy to throw in the laptop bag. Easy to use and install. Compatible with both mac and pc as well as everything we've used it with. We've been using it for a few weeks with absolutely no issues. The only suggestion I would make it to maybe have a power cord that allowed you to plug it either direction as sometimes I need to move other things to use it with a surge protector, etc.
Very useful accessory . The Belkin Ulta-Slim USB 2.0 Hub provides a great solution to the problem of easily connecting your electronic devices. This has traditionally been a problem for PC users like myself, where there never seem to be enough inputs for printers, cameras, MP3 players and so on. After plugging the Belkin in, I gained easy access to the USB ports which has made it a lot easier to download files from my camera and MP3 player (compared with reaching around the back of the PC which is always a hassle).
I can imagine that with tablet computing on the rise, the Belkin might really come in handy by creating a hub for users to connect their devices. For example, you might want to download files from the tablet to an external drive for use when you are at home.
On that point, the USB 2.0 technology allows for fast file transfer. Although I normally keep my external drive connected to the back of my PC, for testing purposes I plugged the drive into the Belkin. Using this configuration, I edited some graphics using CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 and was satisfied with the performance.
I highly recommend this very useful accessory to everyone!

Excellent Hub . This USB hub is excellent for use with a laptop or desktop. I don't have to drag the CPU out from the wall to reconfigure the USB setup. When I traveled last weekend, I used it to hook up everything to the laptop, including the printer, and it worked like a charm. Great deal for a small bit of hardware.
