Seems good . Since my desktop is set up in a basement, and I have it in a corner, I was getting terrible reception off of the standard linksys antenna on my PCI card wireless. I ordered this guy basically because I wanted to basically relocate my antenna to the top of my desk. It screws on fine to the wifi antenna jack on my PCI card and has a generous-length cable. Subjectively speaking, my reception seems to be a lot better (not dropping out, buffering, downloads seem a little faster), so it works as expected. I kind of wish the antenna was not so long, it does sort of stick out like a sore thumb so I hid it behind my flatscreen monitor. On a related note I would have liked if the antenna stand's coax-style jack was the same size as the PCI port's so I could use my linksys antenna on this base, but not a dealbreaker. Otherwise, it's exactly what I was hoping for, an improvement in reception at a reasonable price.

Cons Review
Appearances can be deceiving . Sometimes you get a pleasant surprise at a low price. Sometimes not. In this case, it pretty much amounts to "you get what you pay for". The antenna itself is huge, but I doubt the 9db gain figure. The stock 5db antenna on my USB stick adapter gets significantly higher signal levels and "hears" more access points. Despite its size, I suspect the actual antenna element inside is quite small. Anticipating that when I ordered this set, I had consoled myself in thinking that I could at least mount my existing antenna on this base. Wrong again. Although the cable terminates in a compatible RP-SMA as advertised, the antenna-to-base arrangement is unexpected. It looks like the TNC connector used on Linksys routers, but it is actually of the opposite gender. The result is that - even with adaptors - nothing else I have can be screwed into the base.
There are lots of items for sale here that appear to be the same hardware under different names. This particular dealer shipped the antenna real fast and packed it well. They probably haven't actually tested it to verify the claimed specs. Reviewers have the same low-gain complaints about many of the other advertised antennas like this. This one didn't ... until now.
