Worth the Money . It's a non managed switch, so not really much to say about set up.
Plug in your Ethernet cables, plug in the switch. So simple a non-techie significant other could do it.
I was using a four port switch but with the addition of a networked TV, blueray player, apple tv... i was running out of available ports.
I ordered this and received the usual super fast shipping from Amazon. Packaging was excellent.
From the time I unpacked the switch to the time i was done (including moving the old 4 port switch over to the home theater area and plugging in the apple tv to stop using wireless) it took 5 minutes.
Yes there are cheaper switches out there, but since this switch is in a semi-visible area I wanted something that looked a little nicer. Having it come from Cisco is just an added bonus.
If you're looking for an 8 port switch, I would recommend the SE2800.

Great switch . PROS:
-No setup... just plug in the wires...
-Stylish (matches the 4200 series router).
CONS:
-Runs hot... make sure you have adequate ventilation if installing in a cabinet
-Wish it would have some sort of spacers so that it attaches to the 4200 router while providing the proper ventilation

Gigabit Switch . Perfect solution for a small office or home network expansion. Plug n play convenience and it's Linksys so bound to work excellent. I am very much satisfied with this product although I already have a Linksys router needed expansion of ports in other area where I got 3-4 PCs/Laptops and a Vonage telephone modem and all are working fine.

Functional . I'm reviewing this the same as the newer routers. It works, but the AC adapter is a bad design, and there is no wall mount option.
Outstanding! . Well engineered product that works as well as the manufacturer claims. The setup only took as long as it took for me to plug in cables!I have had many Linksys products in the past and still have some newer ones. CISCO seems to have brought some Industrial Design factors in and improved the aesthetic appeal of the product. A good looking product that works well is a winning combination. For the record I also own the Linksys E4200 router. Outstanding!
Technican . pluged it in and is working great great speed my son is now complaining his PS3 games are faster and he can not handle the speed he get there now.
Linksys 8 port Gigabit switch . I wondered why I had Gigalan PC network cards and was running on 10/100 switches, then it hit me, I was dumb, looked for the best value for money with the quality I wanted and chose the Linksys, I work in Smart TV's and Linksys never gives problems. So it was the right Switch at the right price for a good supplier.
GB Switch . The switch works well and I have had no issues with the unit after 1 month. Too bad you can't manage it, but I guess I'm asking too much for the price.
Easy to set up and so far has wored flawlessly! . I purchased this switch for the simple reason that it didn't match my new Linksys wireless router (sorry, it was my OCD kicking in). The switch took less than 5 minutes to connect and get up and running, and even my wife and kids noticed that their wired connections seem to be faster with the new switch. Of course Amazon had the best price. Only con, no lights on the front of the unit. Not a deal breaker, but I think the lights are something that should be easily viewable. Still a 5 star device.
Cons Review
Buy extra AC adapter . I suggest you always buy extra AC adapters with this product. Mine blew out the first time I plugged it in. Lynksys customer service, while very friendly, requires such an arduous diagnosis process that trying to get a replacement under warranty is just not worth it. This is a common problem with their products. Once I got a "real" 1-amp power supply it's working well.
