Works fine generic 56K modem . This is a generic Agere/Lucent chipset based modem. No drivers are needed for Windows Vista. Keep in mind it's a HALF HEIGHT modem, meaning it fits in compact computer cases that use half-height cards (from Dell, HP, etc). The previous reviewer didn't know what half-height meant so he was not able to use it in his computer with standard slots.

Cons Review
Does not fit in a standard computer . This unit is not compatible with almost all desktop computers. Although the description doesn't say anything about it this modem is desgined to fit specialized machines having non-standard external slots.
