IOGEAR's GWU625 Compact Wireless-N USB Adapter allows you to connect your laptop or desktop to any Wireless-N network in your home or office. The Wireless-N (IEEE 802.11n) USB 2.0 Adapter is the perfect solution for those users who want to upgrade older computers to the next generation of wireless technology. Using dual antennas (1T2R) this product provides data rates up to 300Mbps and reduces Wi-Fi dead zones in your wireless environment. This new standard supplies sufficient bandwidth for faster file transfer, music downloads, video streaming, on-line gaming & HD multi-media applications. In addition to the increased speed and coverage, you will be pleased to know that it is compatible with your existing 802.11b and 802.11g routers and access points. The unit also features a WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) button. This button assures quick and secure network setup.

Works as advertised . A nice cheap wireless-N adapter with dual antennas allowing up to 300 Mbps transfer rates. Installed quickly and easily into my Windows XP system using the included setup utility on mini CD. I'm also running a dual boot Linux box under Ubuntu 10.10 and it works fine although the installation requires some command line fiddling and rudimentary programming to get Linux to recognize the adapter (the reviewer on Newegg stating it doesn't work with Ubuntu is wrong). Supposedly works under Fedora as well. Haven't tried the Apple drivers but I'm sure it would work fine with a Mac.
Throughput is solid, around 80 to 90% of my wired connection even though my computer and router are on different levels of the house separated by around 50 feet and a solid wall.
PROS:
1) Performance, dual antenna 300 Mbps wireless-N
2) Supports Windows, Linux and Apple IOS.
3) Backwards compatible to wireless-G and B and USB 2.0, 1.1 and 1.2.
4) Supports WPS, WEP, TKIP, AES, WPA & WPA2 encryption protocols.
5) Cheap, I paid $9.99!
CONS:
1) Fiddly Linux installation. They should provide a setup app to simplify.

IOGEAR Compact Wireless-N USB Adapter GWU625 (Black) Reviews
Had issues with N mode frequency . This adapter worked with my wireless access point operating in 2.4GHZ/G mode, but could not see my access point operating at 5 MHZ/Nmode. However, I have no problems with the adapter and no issues with dropped connections like I had with my old linksys adapter so I would recommend it for use in wireless-G mode

Great . This product works great and I can finally work online anywhere without being always "hooked up" to an RJ-45 cable. I love it!
IOGEAR Compact Wireless-N USB Adapter GWU625 (Black) Opinions
Product . It is the 5th day now, no problems. Maybe because my laptop is only 5 ft away from the router (Actiontec). I am getting full signal with TX speed of 150 Mbps and RX of 300 Mbps. By the way, my laptop is XP Pro, internet download speed is 3 MB.

Cons Review
Iogear . Works for WD media Hub for the 1st 10 seconds then for some reason you can't access your file anymore regardless
of any atttempt to do so - reboot, reset to default, manual config, Win7 share on and off, add devices - even win7 don't recognizes it as any devices on any network, Network discovery on/off even turning off my other devices in the network and so much more - nothing worked. tried to find solution for 30 minutes nothing worked
I can't rate it a zero star not available but avoid this product for the WD
LOL seconds after this review, I tried add devices again and finally found my WD HUB ....
I will keep this updated if possible since i'm stuck with this wireless device now LOL (ok so i rate it a star for now)
Total Crappy USB Adapter
everytime I transfer Files regardless of sizes, it loses connection
everytime i watch WD Player it loses connection
everytime I do sometime with my system it loses connection

"This new standard supplies sufficient bandwidth for faster file transfer, music downloads, video streaming, on-line gaming & HD multi-media applications." you will need to transfer files over and over again since connections drops, for gaming and other usage ? goodluck
"In addition to the increased speed and coverage" over dial up? yes
"you will be pleased to know that it is compatible with your existing 802.11b and 802.11g routers and access points. The unit also features a WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) button." 1 Point for them lol
"This button assures quick and secure network setup." survey say - wrong !!!!
My Total Final review is look and buy somewhere else this product might be cheap, it will be problamatic short and long term
