printer switch . I was looking for a product that would allow me to use one printer. My desktop is a mac, but I use equipment in the office that runs on windows. I have a small space and did not like having 2 printers in the room. I was told that this could not be done, but this device works great. I do have to manually switch between the two devices, but that is as simple as touching a button. The reason the automatic switch doesn't work has to do with the device I am using, not the product itself.

nice switch . First of all and again buying stuff from or through amazon is a breeze!
I bought this thinking it was an automatic printer switch. That is I thought it would automatically switch the printer to the computer that wanted to print. It should be called a manual switch because I must manually push button 1 to 4 in order to print. other wise it works OK.

Loving it! . This IOGear automatic USB switch is small and has rid my life of printing hassles. I have a PC and a MAC plugged in to it and have had no troubles what so ever! And with the four available ports, when my daughter comes home for Christmas, she can plug her notebook right in. It even beeps when you turn on the computer if you need to turn on the printer. I LIKE IT!!

Satified . I loved the easy setup although I didn't set it up to be automatic, I love the easy of the manual operation. My Grandson and I share the printer and its easy for the thirteen old to use which is a plus. I would recommend it to anyone.

hub 4-port IOGEAR . I like this printer switch because it is small and has a low profile. I can put it in an out of the way place on my desk, but close enough to reach. Control switches easy to find without looking.
Cons Review
Frustrating frustrating . I had a little bit of luck initially with the auto switching between two PCS connected to a printer via the GUB431. But when I configured a third PC, nothing ever worked after that. I've spent 90 minutes trying to get this work with much frustration. One PC claims it owns the printer and won't let the other PCs print, according to the confusing color of the icon on the taskbar. But even the PC that claims it owns the printer with a green color on the icon doesn't print. I can't release the "locked" control of that first PC on the printer no matter how many different ways I try. I'll invest another 30 minutes for a total of 2 hours before I quit. If I can't get it to work after 2 hours, I'm sending it back to Amazon.
Piece of Junk . This ridiculous 2 port USB switch is advertised as "automatic". Be advised it is NOT an automatic software switch, it's a manual switch - you push the button to go from one port to the other. Secondly, its ports are advertised as USB but the ports on the device are NOT standard USB, ergo the cables required are USB A-B.
Wouldn't buy it again . This device worked well the first day. After that, it developed a mind of its own and took over my computers. It took me hours to clear the printer queues and get back to where I could print again. I had to disconnect the IOGEAR in order to regain control of my equipment. It remains disconnected, and I won't hook it back up. When I want to send to the same printer from two computers, I'll just manually switch the cable until I can find a device that works. This one ain't it!
