Got Four of these... Here's what happened . I installed 4 of these yesterday. They are V1 adapters. They ship with an extension USB cable, some vecro and a clear plastic holder to mount it on a wall, etc. All 4 of my machines run XP Pro SP3. Windows found the device but did not recognize it until I installed the current drivers - 3.0.0.2 - that I downloaded from the netgear site [...]
On 2 of my machines the installation was a snap. Unplugged the adapter, started the installer program and it stepped me right through the installation. There's a point where you have plugged the adapter in and you are prompted to either have the Wizard step you through defining the connection to your router or manually define the connection yourself. I am very familiar with the netgear utility so on 3 of the machines I did it manually. Just for snicks I used the wizard on the 3rd machine and the only tricky part was that since I don't broadcast my ssid, you need to select the connection at the bottom of the list with a blank ssid and then you are prompted for your ssid. This is not very intuitive for beginners.
On 2 of my machines the installer kept failing. Probably due to some software conflict. On these machines I did clean boots by using msconfig to boot without non-windows services and no *.ini files. At this point the installers installed OK after a couple of tries. After rebooting these two machines I got BSOD's on both machines. I powered down each machine and powered back up. No further BSOD's on either machine.
Speed on all machines is very good. Getting very snappy response off of these with my dlink dir-655 router.
All-in-all very good adapter, even if the netgear drivers can be finicky. My dir-655 isn't dual band, but when I upgrade these will be ready. I tried to use Windows to manage the adapter on one of the machines that I was having some trouble with, and I couln't get WPA+AES to work. Didn't really try to troubleshoot it, as I am using the netgear software to manage the profiles.
I should add that the MAC ADDRESS and SERIAL NUMBER are both blacked out with a permanent marker. Not sure why unless this is the way netgear determines it's a refurb. Also, it's a little large and if you don't use the cable, it may not allow you to put another USB device in an adjacent USB slot. Of course the cable solves that problem.
One of the pictures on this site shows it in a Netgear Box, with CD and instructions. Mine came in a generic brown box without the media or instructions... the swr and guides are available at the netgear site.

Netgear WNDA3100 Wireless N Network Adapter Recert Reviews
Works with Panasonic TV - Most Likely V2 . I just had this Netgear WNDA3100 Rangemax Wireless N Adaptor delivered to my daughter at her college. She plugged it into the USB port of her 'birthday gift' - a new Panasonic TC-L32X30 LCD TV and with minimum fuss it was working. The set-up requires you select a network and input the WEP2 security code. She is not familiar with setting up anything to do with a network so this is an endorsement of both the TV and the adaptor. This adapter also cost less than half of the Panasonic OEM wireless network adapter - so this is a money saver.

Netgear WNDA3100 Wireless N Network Adapter Recert Opinions
Win & install stable and consistantly stable . I used the disk to install drivers on a Win7, AMD dual core machine.
Connected to router and done with install in 3 min. Signal is good, and stable.
All my connection problems are solved. Wish I had started with this one instead of the Trendnet TEW-641PI which turned out to be a waste of time and money.

Great add on for Panasonic TV . Plugged into Panasonic TV and even my non-tech-savvy sister-in-law was able to get it working. Now can stream netflix directly to TV.
Cons Review
misleading promotion by NETGEAR . NETGEAR advertises WNDA3100 as compatible with Panasonic TVs.
[...].
In fact, only WNDA3100v2 with serial number prefix of "2D4" are compatible with the Panasonic TVs. But finding this information on NETGEAR support site is not easy. Beware!

Using NETGEAR WN111 Wireless-N 300 USB Adapter Instead! . First, I must admit that I am a big Netgear fan. But I am very disappointed with this product.
I have tried to use this on several computers so far, all Windows XP. Although the signal is strong and the bandwidth is what it says it is capable of, up to 300 Mbps, I have had the same problems as it seems others encountered. It repeatedly and intermittently drops the connection, although it automatically reconnects. I have had much better success with the NETGEAR WN111 Wireless-N 300 USB Adapter. You can read my review there.
Although I have heard that the problem is fixed in v2 of this product (the version with the WPS Button), I must admit that I have not tried it, nor have I used it with Windows 7, but right now, I do not want to spend the time. So, my advice is that I would avoid v1 completely and only buy the v2 version. Some sellers state it explicitly (as you can see by some of the Marketsellers on this site). Some do not. So you need to be careful.
Anyway, for the time being, I am very satisfied with NETGEAR WN111.

Simply doesn't work . Purchased this thinking the plug and play would make life easy.
Simply doesn't work.
Plug it in and Windows 7 or Vista doesn't recognise the drivers.
No drivers or installation cd's come with the product.
Go online and download the drivers for installation.
PS: There are no new drivers for this. :(
Install and nothing successfully happens.
I can get it to appear that its connected but its not actually connecting to the wireless network.
Spent hours going through all the permutations of router, wireless usb and drivers and none resulted in a successful implementation.
I'm not a newbie to technology at all and this simply right out of the box doesn't deliver.
Don't get it. Period.
Looked online for additional reviews or feedback from people who had bought this. Same experience.
